Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1929: Chapter 1832: Kneading Round and Flattening

The diamonds were all unearthed from the yellow earth rocks, and at the moment they were dug out, Su Qingqing and several others immediately clutched them tightly in their hands. They didn’t even bother to wash them clean with water, nor did they pay attention to the exact shape. Each person was vigilant and cautious, eager to stuff them into Huo Sining’s bag. Hence, at this moment, the diamonds on the table were even mixed with the soil from Volcano Park.

But it was precisely for this reason that Huo Sining dared to target Qibao, because she was certain Su Qingqing and Li Jun definitely hadn’t remembered what the diamonds in her hand looked like. Even if Qibao were to change the shape and purity of the diamonds a bit, those two would foolishly be unable to tell the difference.

”Qibao,” Huo Sining looked seriously at Qibao, and asked, ”Sister is asking you, last time didn’t you tell Sister that you could extract jadeite jade? This time I’m asking you, can you extract these diamonds as well?”

Qibao was stunned for a moment, then looked up curiously and asked, ”Sister, are you talking about removing the impurities from these diamonds?”

Huo Sining shook her head: ”Not only that, it’s best if you could change the shape of these diamonds. Right now, their shapes are irregular and seem to lack luster. If you could turn them into many even facets, they would look beautiful. Under the lighting, they’d sparkle and shine more brightly, fetching a higher price.”

Qibao glanced at the varying sized diamonds and slightly furrowed his brows, casually picking up a blue diamond the size of a pigeon egg but with many edges, and said, ”I don’t know if I can, but I’ll give it a try.”

Huo Sining nodded, her eyes filled with anticipation as she watched Qibao.

Qibao clenched the diamond in his palm, murmuring something silently. Soon, the Rock Spirit Pearl on his forehead stirred energetically, and a stream of yellow spiritual energy flowed along his right arm, swirling and wrapping around his right fist.

A few minutes later, the Rock Spirit Pearl vanished, and the spiritual energy disappeared too. Qibao opened his eyes, and Huo Sining eagerly asked, ”How was it?”

Qibao opened his palm and shook his head at Huo Sining, saying, ”Removing impurities is no problem, but I can at most turn these diamonds into spherical shapes. I can’t create those many faceted, shiny shapes.”

Huo Sining lowered her head, and in these brief few minutes, the originally angular diamond had turned into a smooth sphere, with the diamond inside radiating like a rainbow.

Huo Sining’s eyes widened in amazement, completely stupefied.

A few seconds later, she snapped out of it, a corner of her mouth curving up as her eyes sparkled with happiness, ”It’s okay, even if it can’t have facets, turning into this shape also works.”

What do you mean it also works? It’s extremely perfect!

The reason why diamonds commonly seen on the market have many facets is largely because of the diamond’s inherent shape, since the raw diamond is a standard cubic octahedron. So cutting such shapes takes advantage of the diamond’s form, which in professional terms is called preserving weight.

However, in reality, many diamonds on the market are made into round diamonds because round diamonds maximally exhibit the diamond’s brightness and are also easier to set.

But to make round diamonds, one needs to cut out 57 facets. This not only tests the skill of diamond cutters but also wastes more raw material. Therefore, creating a standard round diamond is far more challenging than making a fancy-shaped diamond.

This is why fancy-shaped diamonds, especially pear-shaped and square diamonds, are more common in the market.

Moreover, under the same size, round diamonds often cost more than fancy-shaped ones, so the larger the diamond, the greater the price difference between the two.

If Huo Sining were to sell these diamonds, those cutters would also determine the shape to cut based on the raw material’s form. However, Huo Sining estimated that the possibility of cutting into round diamonds was very low, because no diamond designer would be willing to cut such large diamonds into round shapes—it’s too wasteful of material.

Furthermore, nowadays, raw diamond processing requires paying expensive cutting fees. But if not processed, they can’t sell for a worthy price. If Huo Sining wants to maximize the profit of these diamonds, she can only find specialized cutters for the task, which entails investing significant production costs.

But now, Qibao has directly solved Huo Sining’s problem. His little hand squeezed, and those hardest diamonds were rounded and smoothed, without needing any cutter’s touch.

Huo Sining reached out to pick up the now spherical blue diamond. Qibao’s squeeze not only transformed the diamond into a ball but also removed its impurities. At this moment, the pigeon egg-sized diamond was pure and translucent, exuding a glowing blue light. Inside the diamond, countless stacked faceted surfaces sparkled with colorful glimmers, appearing exceptionally dazzling.

Such a diamond could be readily sold, and its shape and color appealed even to Huo Sining, an outsider, let alone the collectors.

Currently, diamond prices aren’t high. Excluding the world’s most expensive diamond with a price of only 16 million Euros, equivalent to 200 million RMB, Huo Sining’s diamonds certainly can’t compare to this one.

But Huo Sining has many diamonds in her possession. She carefully counted; over the past two days, aside from the initial three shattered diamonds, they had a total of 127 diamonds from their dig at Volcano Park. These diamonds are sizable, and after Qibao’s reprocessing, their color and quality have risen substantially.

Initially, Huo Sining worried about the diamonds’ marketability, because when they entered Volcano Park, the staff had mentioned that any diamonds they dug up couldn’t be sold or taken out of America. Despite disregarding this warning, it remained a potential issue.

Huo Sining contemplated that if necessary, she’d store the diamonds in her storage ring and bring them back to the country, later fabricating an identity for these diamonds to sell them on Jade Beauty’s official website.

But now, seeing the blue diamond crafted by Qibao, Huo Sining realized she was overthinking.

Such items might not fetch high prices back home, but in America, there’s plenty of demand. Once taken out, they’d surely be snatched up, with no worry of them not selling.

Huo Sining’s mouth unknowingly curved into a smile. Their efforts of waking early and staying late in Volcano Park over the past two days proved greatly rewarding. Once they returned, as long as they figured out how to sell these diamonds, the auction funds for the two Beast Heads would be nearly gathered.
