Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1948: Chapter 1851: No Bottom Line

Fujiwara Seiho’s heart turned cold, and he became convinced that Number 88 was very likely a shill invited by the organizers, who were doing this precisely to hype up the Beast Heads and drive up their market price.

Fujiwara Seiho did indeed want to obtain those two Beast Heads, but that was only so he could take them back and spite the Huaxia people. Yet the organizers were jacking up the price with no bottom line; even if he kept bidding and finally bought the two Beast Heads, it would be a case of hurting the enemy by a thousand at the cost of eight hundred to himself, and the one who actually profited in the end would be the organizers, not Fujiwara Seiho.

Thinking of this, Fujiwara Seiho suddenly felt like backing off, though he still had some doubts about Number 88’s identity. After all, that man looked like a Huaxia person; it wasn’t impossible that he was a reinforcement sent over from Huaxia Country. So after thinking it over, he still probed by adding another five million.

”Ninety-five million!”

After raising his paddle once, Fujiwara Seiho fixed his gaze tightly on the man standing on the balcony of the VIP box.

At such a price, if that man wasn’t a shill but a genuine bidder, he would definitely show signs of nervousness, anxiety, or even hesitation. Even if he raised his paddle again, he would certainly think it over repeatedly.

However, after he raised the bid to ninety-five million, that man standing on the balcony actually showed no surprise at all. He very crisply raised his paddle again and called out directly: one hundred million!

At that point, Fujiwara Seiho completely confirmed his own suspicion: this man had to be a shill brought in by the organizers!

Just like the Middle Eastern Prince, once Fujiwara Seiho guessed the organizers’ intent, his first thought was to withdraw.

Unlike Zhou Shitao and those old Huaxia experts, Fujiwara Seiho’s purpose in buying those two Beast Heads was merely to annoy the Huaxia people a little. But he wasn’t an idiot; under these circumstances, no matter how much he wanted those two Beast Heads, there was no way he would really let the organizers drink his blood for such a ridiculous reason.

After all, this was one hundred million US dollars, not a few tens or hundreds. If he truly wanted to buy those two Beast Heads, he would have to shift quite a few of the assets and liquid funds under his name, which would also be no small trouble for him.

After calculating it in his mind, Fujiwara Seiho felt it wasn’t worth it. He didn’t want to be the sucker in the organizers’ eyes, so after slanting a glance at Number 88, he sat down as well.

Sharing the same idea as that Middle Eastern Prince, Fujiwara Seiho also believed that as long as he didn’t raise the bid, the Beast Head would end up stuck in the shill’s hands. When that happened, the organizers would probably still have to come looking for him to sell that Beast Head to him.

Fujiwara Seiho thought he had already seen through the organizers’ true colors, so he sat firmly on the fishing platform, just waiting to reap the fisherman’s profit—only to never imagine that his withdrawal would end up letting Huo Sining and her group take an enormous bargain.

Huo Sining sat inside the box, feeling completely baffled.

When she saw Fujiwara Seiho suddenly raise the bid to ninety-five million, she had thought it was about to turn into an exceptionally brutal tug-of-war. She hadn’t expected Fujiwara Seiho to just withdraw like that.

Fujiwara Seiho’s abrupt retreat was something Huo Sining hadn’t anticipated at all, because this was completely off-script for her.

However, for the others in the box, this couldn’t have been better. Because of Fujiwara Seiho’s surrender, coupled with Li Jun’s sudden intervention, the one-hundred-million price had completely cowed the entire room—no one dared to bid again. Even the earlier shill, after seeing the Middle Eastern Prince and Fujiwara Seiho both give up one after the other, was starting to waver.

He was also afraid the item would end up stuck in his own hands; if the lot failed and the higher-ups blamed him, he couldn’t bear it. Besides, the bottom line the organizers had given him was ninety million. Now that the price had reached that, he didn’t dare keep casually pushing it up. After glancing at the auctioneer on the stage, he decisively exchanged a look with the auctioneer, signaling his intent, then sulkily retreated back to his seat and sat down.

”Number 88 has bid one hundred million.”

”One hundred million, once.”

”One hundred million, twice.”

The auctioneer began the countdown, his gaze sweeping over the hall. He deliberately looked several times at the shills arranged by Clayflo, as if asking whether any of them was still willing to step forward.

No one stood up, and in the end the auctioneer had no choice but to bring down the hammer: ”One hundred million, three times. Congratulations to Number 88, sir—this Snake Head is yours.”

Li Jun was wildly excited inside, but on the surface he still had to act angry and aggrieved.

Sitting in a nearby corner and watching the box where Number 88 was the whole time, Semiya, upon seeing the first Snake Head auctioned off at the sky‑high price of one hundred million, became so excited that her whole body was buzzing.

”Bro, you really are a genius. Those Huaxia people actually raised the bid—just for a single Beast Head, they drove it up to one hundred million. These Huaxia people are simply out of their minds!” Semiya said to Clayflo excitedly with a smile.

”It’s only one hundred million. What are you so worked up about?” Clayflo said helplessly to his sister.

Semiya nodded, her face full of joy. ”Of course I’m excited. Alden couldn’t win back the money I lost, but you’ve already earned it back for me with just one Beast Head. Isn’t that something to be happy about?”

Clayflo shook his head. The corners of his mouth were indeed curved in a smile, but his eyes were fixed faintly on Li Jun’s side. In the end, a sharp light flashed in his gaze as he said to a staff member beside him, ”Go tell Oakley and the others: for the Rooster Head coming up, push the price higher. The bottom line is one hundred and fifty million.”

”What?”

Before the staff member could speak, Semiya at the side was already shocked:

”One hundred and fifty million? Bro, are you sure it’s okay to jump the price that much all at once? That Huo Sining is no idiot. You want to sell a Rooster Head at a price more than fifteen times above market—she’s so sharp, you think she’ll fall for it? If this doesn’t go right and they simply refuse to buy, that Beast Head will be stuck in our hands. Then if we want to sell it again for one hundred million, that’ll be tough.”

Clayflo looked toward Li Jun’s side. He had noticed that although Li Jun’s expression had been tense all along, when he called out one hundred million, the man’s face was very relaxed. That meant one hundred million still hadn’t exceeded their predetermined bottom line.

Clayflo was a businessman—one could even say a profiteer. Under circumstances like these, he wouldn’t leave money on the table; there was no way he’d give these Huaxia people any face or courtesy.

”Don’t underestimate these Huaxia people’s obsession with the Twelve Zodiac. That woman definitely won’t be willing to just let go like this,” Clayflo said with full confidence.
