Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1930: Chapter 1833: Security Check

Because they were too tired, Huo Sining and her group spent the night in Polante to rest, before rushing to the airport at four in the morning the next day.

Today is the last day of the auction exhibit, which means that it officially begins at 10 in the morning in Philadelphia, so Huo Sining and her group must enter the building by that time to participate in the auction.

When checking in their luggage at the airport, Li Jun and the others worried that Huo Sining’s suitcase filled with so many diamonds wouldn’t pass security, but luckily, the security officer either appeared to be asleep or didn’t recognize those dull-looking stones as diamonds, and let them through very smoothly.

”This security officer is really too negligent; the Volcano Park entrance agreement we brought was completely useless!” Su Qingqing grumbled as she walked toward the boarding gate.

”Exactly, I bet she didn’t even realize that Ningning’s suitcase was filled with diamonds, she might’ve even yawned,”

Li Jun also found it somewhat unbelievable. Although they worried the security officer might ask to open the suitcase and inspect the diamonds, surprisingly, Huo Sining’s luggage passed through without the troubles and procedures they expected. They moved through security very smoothly, reaching the boarding gate in less than a few minutes.

”It’s so early, the security officer isn’t alert, there’s no way she could focus on every passing suitcase,” Huo Sining said, a hint of an ethereal glow in her eyes, her tone justified.

Yue Shuwen and Gu Xu agreed wholeheartedly, but Li Jun still frowned, slightly dissatisfied:

”But this is too careless, letting it pass so easily — aren’t they afraid there might be a bomb in the suitcase? No wonder there have been hijackings and missing or crashing planes over the past few years, with such attitude towards work, criminals could easily exploit this to bring dangerous items on board. Clearly, these people place no regard on passengers’ lives and safety!”

Huo Sining felt like a waterfall of sweat was about to pour down, she never thought such a small matter could lead Li Jun to draw such a big issue. Seeing that Li Jun seemed to want to go back and reason with those security officers, her mouth twitched as she quickly stopped him, saying:

”Come on, it’s better they didn’t find anything; we’ll face fewer troubles, otherwise we might have to explain where these things came from. With so many people preparing for security checks, plus those security officers, the more people around, the more likely someone might secretly take a picture and spread it, turning into a huge news story. Now that security has passed smoothly, it’s better to avoid problems, let’s hurry on!”

Yue Shuwen didn’t think too much at first, but seeing Huo Sining beckoning her nonstop, she suddenly realized and promptly spoke to persuade:

”Yeah, Jun, forget it. Don’t forget, we need to quickly get back for the auction, if we don’t board soon we might miss it.”

Among the group, only Su Qingqing and Li Jun were unaware of the secret Huo Sining was hiding, the others were in the know.

With a storage space, of course Huo Sining wouldn’t blatantly pack the diamonds in a suitcase for security check — what could be safer than putting them in her storage ring?

In fact, to confuse Su Qingqing and Li Jun, Huo Sining packed a piece of raw gambling stone in her suitcase, one she stored in the storage ring, and it was brick material. That thing isn’t worth much, but it’s absolutely heavy enough, making the suitcase particularly heavy when packed.

Since before coming to Polante, Li Jun had enthusiastically carried Huo Sining’s suitcase, she worried he might inadvertently do so again on their return, hence she stuffed a piece of brick material in the suitcase to avoid suspicion from Li Jun due to a light suitcase.

The suitcase contained no diamonds, just a stone and some spare clothes, naturally passing through the security gate smoothly.

As for carrying over a hundred diamonds through security, who would be foolish enough to do so?

Those security officers aren’t blind, doing security checks every day. Could they truly not tell the difference between rough diamonds and glass?

As for the Volcano Park entrance agreement, it’s just a façade saying the diamonds dug out belong to the tourists, as long as they aren’t sold or taken out of the United States, it’s all legal — such talk only fools kids.

Previously, tourists have dug up only a few small diamonds worth at most tens of thousands, which the park uses as a gimmick and doesn’t care much about;

But for someone like Huo Sining’s group uncovering large diamonds, and over a hundred at once, the nature of it entirely changes.

Volcano Park is a commercial park, privately owned, but annually how much can a park’s revenue be compared to the value of over a hundred diamonds — anyone can analyze that difference.

Faced with such a big temptation, unless the Volcano Park owner is saintly, he absolutely won’t suffer in silence, would surely tear up the agreement, deny the entrance deal, and directly seize those over a hundred diamonds.

Even if the Volcano Park had to shut down forever, even if his credibility plummeted and faced mass condemnation, likely the park owner wouldn’t care at all.

This is why Huo Sining dared not put those diamonds in the suitcase; she guards against not only those security officers but also the Volcano Park’s owner. Those more than a hundred diamonds were hard-earned from their efforts, she would never let it be someone else’s gain.

At this moment, Huo Sining felt relieved, thankful she had a storage ring for it could come in handy at such a crucial time, otherwise even after digging out diamonds today, taking them to Philadelphia would cause no small trouble.

Yet, she never imagined Li Jun would want to reason with the security based on their negligence — what a joke! Huo Sining certainly wouldn’t allow it; if they got into an argument, who knows the security might recheck their luggage, and her suitcase’s secret would be exposed.

Luckily, upon hearing Yue Shuwen, Li Jun came to his senses, deciding not to delay the day’s plan further, turned around reluctantly and joined the group toward the boarding gate.

Huo Sining and Gu Xu both sighed in relief instantly, even Qibao and Zhong Xiaoyao instinctively felt a cold sweat for Huo Sining.
