Urban Martial Saint

Watching Ye Qing and Aolingyun argue, the crowd was slightly uproarious, as the onlookers, all experts, were contemplating why Ye Qing dared to say such things.

Aolingyun, after all, was a senior. It was understandable if he wanted to reprimand Ye Qing. What reason did Ye Qing have to claim Aolingyun was unqualified to teach him a lesson? Everyone was quite curious.

Aolingyun was also curious, but he couldn’t figure out what reason Ye Qing might have, so he felt confident in his position. He looked at Ye Qing and said in a deep voice, ”Ye, stop spouting nonsense and explain yourself clearly. If you’re justified, Mr. Ao will kneel and apologize. However, if you are not, anyone who dares to stop Mr. Ao from killing you will be Mr. Ao’s mortal enemy!”

”Hmph, then get ready to kneel!” Ye Qing took a deep breath, glanced around at everyone, and finally fixed his gaze on Helian Tiehua, saying, ”General Helian, may I ask, within the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance, what exactly is Aolingyun’s position?”

Helian Tiehua didn’t expect Ye Qing would direct such a question at him. He thought for a moment and replied in a low voice, ”Elder Ao is one of the Supreme Elders of the Seven Great Families, and also a Supreme Elder within the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance. He holds a very high status within the Seven Rudders and possesses the authority of the Elders Council!”

”So, he is still a member of the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance, correct?” Ye Qing said.

”That certainly is the case.” Helian Tiehua nodded, still looking at Ye Qing in surprise, not understanding why Ye Qing suddenly wanted to ask about these matters.

”Very good!” Ye Qing nodded, turned to Aolingyun, and said, ”Aolingyun, you may kneel!”

”What the hell are you barking about? Just because of a few words, you’re making my grandfather kneel? Who do you think you are?” Aomuhan was the first to angrily shout.

”Who am I?” Ye Qing coldly smiled, looked at Aomuhan, and said, ”I am the Alliance Hierarch of the World Alliance!”

With these words, a burst of uproar immediately spread across the scene. People finally understood what Ye Qing intended to say. Even Shen Tianjun, who had been standing by Ye Qing’s side and was extremely nervous, couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing this, finally comprehending Ye Qing’s meaning.

Indeed, Ye Qing is the Alliance Hierarch of the World Alliance, and this title places him at a higher standing than Aolingyun. To speak of rules, Aolingyun doesn’t exactly have the qualification to speak recklessly before Ye Qing.

”What World Alliance?” Aolingyun widened his eyes, staring intently at Ye Qing, and said in a deep voice, ”I don’t know what your so-called World Alliance is, but I am a Supreme Elder of the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance. Your so-called World Alliance can’t control me. Your disrespect towards me, as an elder, still gives me the right to reprimand you!”

”Aolingyun, I think you’ve been in seclusion for too long and have no idea what’s going on outside, do you?” Ye Qing said, ”World Alliance, you don’t know what that is? Hmph, let me tell you then. The Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance is also a member of the World Alliance. I am the Alliance Hierarch of the World Alliance, which means my standing is somewhat higher than anyone from the Seven Rudders of Hong Alliance. As a Supreme Elder, what qualification do you have to discuss hierarchy or seniority with me?”

Upon hearing this, many at the scene chuckled. Actually, Ye Qing’s role as the Alliance Hierarch was merely a nominal one. After the matter with the Sword Saint Sect and the Wanyan Family, this alliance was practically disbanded. Initially, the crowd formed an alliance to counter the Wanyan Family, but since the Sword Saint Sect was taking action against the Wanyan Family, it wasn’t their place to handle it. Thus, the alliance basically ceased to exist.

However, though the crowd didn’t take this alliance to heart, it still existed in name. Ye Qing was chosen as the Alliance Hierarch by everyone. Initially, Ye Qing had no actual power as the Alliance Hierarch, only a nominal title. But the key issue was that, in this situation, a nominal title was enough. On a nominal basis, the Alliance Hierarch of the World Alliance indeed holds a higher standing than any entity within it. The Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance, being a member, naturally have a lower rank than Ye Qing. So, asserting his higher status than Aolingyun was correct and irrefutable.

While Ye Qing doesn’t have the same seniority as Aolingyun or the same age, his standing is higher, which is more important in this context. Therefore, if Ye Qing wants to assert his position from this standing, Aolingyun really has no grounds to argue.

Aolingyun had heard of the World Alliance matters and knew that Ye Qing was selected as the Alliance Hierarch, understanding that Ye Qing merely held a nominal title, which was why he didn’t take it seriously. However, he didn’t expect that what he disregarded would be used by Ye Qing to counter him, leaving him speechless.

Seeing Aolingyun silent, Ye Qing leisurely looked at him and said, ”Senior Ao, do you need me to explain the World Alliance matters to you again? Or, if you don’t believe me, you could ask anyone present to explain it to you, including your son and your adorable grandson?”

Aolingyun’s face turned red; he clearly knew about the issue and needed no further explanation. The problem was, he didn’t know how to respond right now.

”Senior Ao, you ought to say something!” Ye Qing said, ”As the Alliance Hierarch of the World Alliance, do I have the qualification to speak here? Senior Ao, if you’re unsure, you could ask around.”

Saying this, Ye Qing turned to look at the crowd behind him and smiled, ”Does everyone think I have the qualification to speak here?”

Among the onlookers, there were some not from the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance, glad to spectate the commotion. So, upon hearing Ye Qing’s words, the crowd immediately responded in unison, ”Of course!”

”The Alliance Hierarch of the World Alliance not only has the right to speak but also the right to reprimand!”

”What elders, in front of the Alliance Hierarch, there are no seniority distinctions!”

”This is supposed to be the Supreme Elder, but I think the person with the least understanding of the rules is him!”

The crowd burst into laughter, each remark landing like a slap to Aolingyun’s face, turning it a deep red. He hadn’t anticipated the situation would escalate to this, and now he truly didn’t know how to respond.

Seeing Aolingyun in such a state, Helian Tiehua was secretly pleased. Earlier, he had been trying to smooth things over, hoping to change the subject, yet Aolingyun didn’t give him any face, insisting on making trouble. Now, he was rendered speechless by just a few words from Ye Qing. Let’s see how he handles this.

”Senior Ao, say something!” Ye Qing urged again, ”If you think you’re in the right, you can refute me. If you think you’re wrong, then, shouldn’t you apologize to me?”

”An apology is not enough, he should kneel!”

”Yes, yes, wasn’t he speaking so eloquently just now? Now, why hasn’t he made a sound about kneeling and apologizing?”

”Exactly, he even mentioned killing someone earlier. Thankfully, the Alliance Hierarch is reasonable, otherwise, wouldn’t he have killed the Alliance Hierarch too? But now, he’s clearly in the wrong, and the Alliance Hierarch didn’t even talk about killing him, yet he refuses to kneel?”

”Hey, don’t say that. A man’s knees are priceless, and Senior Ao, well, he’s a senior! How could he kneel so easily?”

”But he already mentioned kneeling, if he doesn’t kneel now, what do we do?”

”Well, he might just have to lose face...”

The crowd, eager to watch the drama unfold, engaged in discussions, their growing volume akin to slapping Aolingyun’s face.

”You Ye!” Aolingyun slowly raised his head, staring intently at Ye Qing, fists clenched tight, as if consumed by anger.

Observing Aolingyun’s demeanor, Ye Qing became wary. If Aolingyun, losing his temper, decides to attack regardless of his pride, Ye Qing must be ready to defend.

Standing behind Ye Qing, Huangfu Ziyu had already drawn her Sun Shooting Bow, aiming it at Aomuhan behind Aolingyun. It seemed, if Aolingyun made a move, she would kill Aomuhan first!

Aolingyun paid no mind to the Sun Shooting Bow in Huangfu Ziyu’s hands. He fixated on Ye Qing, speaking in a deep voice, ”The matters of the World Alliance, I am unaware of. So, the mistake is not mine. As the saying goes, ’unknowing means no guilt’, as the Alliance Hierarch, you should understand this, right?”

”Oh, really?” Ye Qing sneered, ”You may not know, but your grandson is quite aware, isn’t he? Should I treat him like you wanted to kill me, and kill him, or what do you suggest?”

Aolingyun took a deep breath, he could gloss over this issue with ignorance. However, his grandson, Aomuhan, was undeniably culpable.

Moreover, in the current situation, Aolingyun had not only offended Ye Qing but also Shen Tianjun and Helian Tiehua. Neither were inclined to speak for him. Resolving this on his own proved exceedingly difficult, rendering him a sweaty mess.

”Grandfather...” Aomuhan looked nervously at Aolingyun, clearly frightened. Even Aolingyun had lost his confidence, what more could he do?

”Ye Qing, shouldn’t one let things go when possible?” Aolingyun said gravely, ”As the Alliance Hierarch, shouldn’t you be more magnanimous?”

”Let things go when possible, that’s true. But the issue is, if I were in the wrong, would you, as my elder, let it slip?” Ye Qing’s voice crescendoed in the final words, almost shouting, further unnerving Aomuhan, causing him to shiver.

Aolingyun’s expression turned extremely unpleasant, now regretting his previous aggressive stance. Finding himself in this predicament, he feared an unsatisfactory resolution.

”Then what exactly do you want?” Aolingyun inquired in a deep voice.

”What do I want?” Ye Qing coldly gazed at Aolingyun, ”What do you think I should do? You wanted to kill me, so what should my retaliation be?”

Aolingyun’s expression changed yet again, realizing that if Ye Qing insisted on killing Aomuhan, he couldn’t stop it. However, Aomuhan was his only grandson, he couldn’t let him die at Ye Qing’s hands.
