Urban Martial Saint

The four servants from Sword Saint Sect took the Wanyan Family’s jade pendant when they left. To prove it was someone from Wanyan Family who killed their Young Master, this pendant is the best evidence; naturally, they needed to take it back to show it to the Sect Leader.

After sending off the people from Sword Saint Sect, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing how furious Sword Saint Sect looked when they left, it’s estimated that soon enough, Sword Saint Sect will come out to deal with Wanyan Family. This is truly good news for everyone. With the power of Sword Saint Sect and Wanyan Family being so strong, if they fight each other first, then the chances for everyone to vie for the Heaven Earth Man Three Gates would increase.

Among them, the people from Shen Family Manor were the most pleased. Although Shen Tianjun forcefully repelled several provocations from Sword Saint Sect, their Young Master kept insisting on capturing Shen Qingyi and destroying the entire Shen Family Manor, fueling extreme resentment within the Shen Family. Now, not only did Sword Saint Sect leave with tails between their legs, but the most arrogant Young Master also lost his life here, making everyone exceptionally happy while they at last got to vent their anger.

Of course, they were unaware that it was Ye Qing who killed the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect. If they knew about this, they would be even more grateful to Ye Qing.

While everyone here was feeling very excited and joyful, outside Shenchuan City, two members of the Wanyan Family were just dumbstruck.

Wanyan Hongsheng and his two companions entered the manor of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance initially to wait for the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect to kill Ye Qing, then make their move to snatch the items from the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master and the Buddha’s Relic. However, they couldn’t have predicted that the development of this matter would entirely exceed their expectations. They just entered when the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect died inside!

They originally thought that the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect dying within the manor of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance would surely trigger resentment between Sword Saint Sect and this alliance. People of Sword Saint Sect absolutely wouldn’t spare the alliance. Thus, they swaggered out of the manor, ready to slowly watch the scene unfold from outside. But the progression of events once again fell outside their expectation. Not only did Sword Saint Sect not start a brawl with the people of the alliance, but they actually identified the killers as people from Wanyan Family. In other words, the blame has been entirely pinned on Wanyan Family. People from Wanyan Family not only can’t watch from the sidelines, but they also must face revenge from Sword Saint Sect!

”How... how could this happen?”

After receiving this news, Wanyan Hongsheng remained silent for over ten minutes before finally uttering his first words.

Old Sixth Wan Yan and Wanyan Hongsheng exchanged glances; he felt even more frustrated than Wanyan Hongsheng. This situation was completely beyond what he anticipated. Now nothing was gained, and such a huge enmity was formed. Sword Saint Sect’s power is frighteningly formidable; if they wish to clash head-on with the Wanyan Family, their millennia-long plans might be destroyed in an instant!

Executioner Scholar sat nearby without speaking, appearing also to be very surprised. However, internally, he was overjoyed. This incident was precisely the outcome he desired. Wanyan Family wanted to use him, Sword Saint Sect wanted to kill him. Executioner Scholar wanted to lure Sword Saint Sect to confront Wanyan Family, so he could save his own life amidst mutual destruction. And the development of events completely followed his planned scheme.

Executioner Scholar initially intended to follow along with the two from Wanyan Family behind Sword Saint Sect’s Young Master, then seize the chance to kill the Young Master and pin this incident on Wanyan Family, thereby inciting a battle between Sword Saint Sect and Wanyan Family. But before he even had the chance to act, the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect was already dead. Moreover, the events unfolded just as he intended, representing an even more favorable outcome for him.

Executioner Scholar did not bother to ponder why things ended up this way; for him, the key point was that Wanyan Family and Sword Saint Sect clashed. As for why it turned out like this, it wasn’t something he needed to consider.

”We went inside only to find the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect already dead; what the hell does that have to do with us?” Old Sixth Wan Yan said in a deep voice, ”Those four damned servants from Sword Saint Sect are too arrogant, daring even to threaten revenge against our Wanyan Family. Hmph, these punks better not fall into my hands, or I’ll make sure they die miserably!”

Wanyan Hongsheng glanced at his younger brother, internally couldn’t help but sigh. Even at this point, his brother was still spouting such invective, which was utterly pointless. The pivotal issue here was that people from Sword Saint Sect were set on Wanyan Family as the murderers of their Young Master, and this constituted a major flaw in their plans.

Seeing Wanyan Hongsheng not speaking, Old Sixth Wan Yan scratched his head, and softly said, ”Third Brother, we didn’t kill anyone, so we don’t need to be afraid of them. How about I send a message out stating that when we rushed over, the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect was already dead, or we could say it was Ye Qing who killed the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect, and we three are the witnesses, wouldn’t that do?”

Wanyan Hongsheng looked at his brother, disappointed, and said, ”Old Sixth, do you think if we say that, anybody would believe us?”

”Why don’t you believe it? We’re telling the truth. We didn’t kill that Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect!” Old Sixth Wan Yan paused and said, ”I suspect it must have been Ye Qing who killed that Young Master. He wants to deliberately frame us. We can simply say we saw Ye Qing kill that Young Master with our own eyes, how’s that?”

Upon hearing this, the Executioner Scholar couldn’t help but say, ”Humph, everyone in the world knows Ye Qing’s meridians are ruined, and his martial arts have been abolished. The Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect was indeed a peak master, yet a person who can’t perform martial arts kills a peak master—do you think that’s possible?”

Old Sixth Wan Yan too was overly angry and anxious earlier and hadn’t considered much. Listening now, he was stunned for a moment. That’s indeed the case, Ye Qing can’t even do martial arts, how could he possibly kill the peak master Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect? But if it wasn’t Ye Qing who killed the Young Master, then who could it have been?

”We followed the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect inside, though separated by some distance. But the distance wasn’t too far!” Wanyan Hongsheng looked at the Executioner Scholar and said in a deep voice, ”At this distance, if the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect had encountered danger, he would surely call for help. Given this distance, we certainly would have heard such a call. However, throughout the process, we didn’t hear a single sound. Moreover, the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect entered that courtyard for less than two minutes. That is to say, he was killed within two minutes, and in the entire process, he didn’t even have time to call for help.”

Saying this, Wanyan Hongsheng took a deep breath, glanced at Old Sixth Wan Yan beside him, and continued in a deep voice, ”Analyzing these details, the one who killed the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect was definitely someone beyond peerless master!”

”Beyond peerless master!?” Old Sixth Wan Yan widened his eyes immediately.

The Executioner Scholar said nothing; he had long thought of this point. However, he chose not to elaborate because he wanted the Sword Saint Sect to deal with the Wanyan Family, hence he would naturally refrain from saying too much about these matters.

”Among the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, the only beyond peerless master is Fu Qingping!” Wanyan Hongsheng said in a deep voice, ”However, throughout the process, Fu Qingping remained by the main building and did not come out. This detail is most clear to the four servants of the Sword Saint Sect. Therefore, the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect was not killed by Fu Qingping!”

”Then... where else is there a beyond peerless master?” Old Sixth Wan Yan asked in surprise.

”This is the key point!” Wanyan Hongsheng frowned deeply and said in a deep voice, ”I’m pondering whether the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance secretly have another beyond peerless master, or whether Shijia Wuji or someone else came and attacked, killing that Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect?”

Old Sixth Wan Yan and Wanyan Hongsheng exchanged a look, both opened their mouths wide, clearly shocked by the situation. Whatever the scenario, the issue was escalating further. If the Seven Steering Committees have hidden masters beyond peerless, their strength would need reassessment. If Shijia and Wuji came to act, that would be extremely troublesome too. If Shijia Wuji arrived in Shenchuan City, would they collaborate with the Seven Steering Committees to target the Wanyan Family next?

The Executioner Scholar paused silently beside them for a moment, then slowly shook his head and said, ”It’s impossible that Shijia and Wuji intervened!”

”Why?” Wanyan Hongsheng and Old Sixth Wan Yan simultaneously looked at the Executioner Scholar in surprise.

”Because Shijia and Wuji would definitely not kill anyone from the Sword Saint Sect!” the Executioner Scholar calmly replied.

Wanyan Hongsheng and Old Sixth Wan Yan exchanged looks; they knew the Executioner Scholar was a traitor from the Sword Saint Sect and was familiar with its affairs. If he said so, it was believable. But then, what was the relationship between Shijia Wuji and the Sword Saint Sect, and why wouldn’t Shijia and Wuji kill anyone from the Sword Saint Sect?

Wanyan Hongsheng and Old Sixth Wan Yan were not clear about the Sword Saint Sect’s circumstances, but the Executioner Scholar knew well. He remembered what the Sect Leader of the Sword Saint Sect had once said—that he didn’t care about the Buddhist and Daoist sects. Even Shijia Wuji had to avoid the Sword Saint Sect members when they met; how could they possibly kill someone from the Sword Saint Sect? The Executioner Scholar did not know why the Sect Leader would say this, but from these words, it was clear Shijia and Wuji dared not provoke the Sword Saint Sect.

Of course, the Executioner Scholar wouldn’t divulge this to the Wanyan Family. If this statement got out, the Wanyan Family might fear the Sword Saint Sect even more. With this, they would surely try every means to appease the Sword Saint Sect rather than clash with them.
