Urban Martial Saint

Upon hearing the Executioner Scholar’s words, Wanyan Hongsheng and Old Sixth Wanyan were very curious and immediately asked about the reason behind it.

The Executioner Scholar casually made up an excuse to brush them off, but Wanyan Hongsheng, being savvy, could discern that the excuse was not the truth. However, he did not inquire further because he was well aware of the relationship between the Executioner Scholar and the Sword Saint Sect. The Executioner Scholar, without a doubt, was very knowledgeable about the many secrets of the Sword Saint Sect, so his words were highly credible. In other words, the person who killed the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect was definitely not Shijia or Wuji.

Of course, Wanyan Hongsheng wanted to extract more secrets about the Sword Saint Sect from the Executioner Scholar’s mouth. However, he knew very well that without completely controlling the Executioner Scholar, he couldn’t pursue too many questions, lest he stir a spirit of resistance in the Executioner Scholar, which would be detrimental to the Wanyan Family. Although they could easily capture the Executioner Scholar, they had no intention of forcing him. The Executioner Scholar had a rather fierce personality, evidenced by his betrayal of the Sword Saint Sect, indicating that he was not someone who could be easily controlled. The Wanyan Family dared not force him for fear that in pressing him, the Executioner Scholar might prefer death over submission, creating trouble.

Moreover, the Sword Saint Sect was very powerful and involved a significant secret. What the Wanyan Family needed was the real situation of the Sword Saint Sect. If they forced the Executioner Scholar, even if he were willing to speak about the Sword Saint Sect’s situation, there was no guarantee he wouldn’t lie. With the strength of the Sword Saint Sect, if the Executioner Scholar lied at any crucial point, it would be a fatal loophole for the Wanyan Family. Because they dared not be careless in dealing with the Sword Saint Sect, they continually tried to win over the Executioner Scholar without directly coercing him.

”So, in that case, it’s not Shijia or Wuji who killed the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect!” Wanyan Hongsheng inhaled deeply, and for the moment, he was not inclined to worry too much about the Executioner Scholar’s matter; the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect’s matter was even more troublesome.

”If it’s neither Shijia nor Wuji, then who could it be?” Old Sixth Wanyan exclaimed in surprise: ”Could it be someone else of Beyond The Pinnacle mastery?”

Wanyan Hongsheng didn’t speak. This was the situation he feared most. It wasn’t Shijia or Wuji who did it, and Fu Qingping had always been in the main building without leaving; he certainly couldn’t have killed the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect. If it’s not these three, then it must be someone else. And the meaning of someone else is that there is another Beyond The Pinnacle master on the Hong Alliance Seven Rudders side, which is a very important matter!

A Fu Qingping from Hong Alliance Seven Rudders had already made the Wanyan Family very worried, having tried several times to solve Fu Qingping but to no avail. If another Beyond The Pinnacle master emerges from the Hong Alliance Seven Rudders side, the situation could become even more troublesome. A Beyond The Pinnacle master is extremely rare and makes a significant impact on the war situation. If a new Beyond The Pinnacle master appears, then all the advantages the Wanyan Family previously enjoyed would be lost.

After a moment of silence, Wanyan Hongsheng stood up and said in a deep voice, ”This matter must be reported to Second Brother!”

Old Sixth Wanyan didn’t speak. Under such circumstances, the only option was to inform Wanyan Second Master and see how he handles the situation. After all, this involves the Sword Saint Sect; if the Sword Saint Sect truly decides that the Wanyan Family killed the Young Master of the Sword Saint Sect and thus starts a war against the Wanyan Family, then the Wanyan Family’s thousand-year plan might be destroyed in an instant!

The Executioner Scholar sitting beside them made no objection whatsoever. He felt very relaxed, as the development of events went exceedingly smoothly for him. He didn’t even need to make a move; the Wanyan Family and the Sword Saint Sect already harbored such animosity, and for what followed, he only needed to sit back and watch. It would be best if the Sword Saint Sect and the Wanyan Family fought to mutual destruction; then he would be completely safe!

Wanyan Hongsheng walked into the adjacent room to make a phone call. After about ten minutes, he emerged from the room. His expression was notably somber, and it appeared that the phone call had not been harmonious.

”How did it go?” Old Sixth Wanyan hurried forward to ask, also quite worried about the matter now.

Wanyan Hongsheng took a deep breath and didn’t speak directly but instead made up an excuse, letting the Executioner Scholar leave first. Listening to the Executioner Scholar’s footsteps walk away, he then spoke in a deep voice, ”Second Brother wants us to stop concerning ourselves with these matters and talk about other things after finding Lao Qi!”

”Lao Qi?” Old Sixth Wanyan was momentarily stunned, whispered, ”Third Brother, whether Lao Qi still truly pledges allegiance to us remains uncertain. If we find Lao Qi and he has betrayed us, what should we do?”

Wanyan Hongsheng said, ”If he has betrayed us, we eliminate him directly, to prevent him from leaking our secrets. If he hasn’t betrayed us, he must have something from the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, and obtaining that item would be an achievement for us!”

”That makes sense.” Old Sixth Wanyan quickly nodded, agreeing that indeed, the matter of the Seventh Elder should be addressed first. If Seventh Elder truly possessed items from the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, bringing them back would indeed be an achievement, and might even make up for past errors.

”But, how do we contact Lao Qi?” Old Sixth Wanyan asked.

Wanyan Hongsheng: ”I received news that when Ye Qing and the others returned to the Hong Alliance Seven Rudders Manor, they brought back a group of people. Judging by circumstances, that group should be the Iga-ryu ninja, and Lao Qi should be among them.”

Old Sixth Wanyan said: ”How did this news come about? Is it accurate?”

”It came from a tomb robber. I investigated him; he was among the group with Handsome Fatty Wang when they raided a tomb. It was because they dug a tunnel that led to the exit of the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, allowing Ye Qing and the others to emerge smoothly,” Wanyan Hongsheng remarked. ”Their words shouldn’t be wrong, especially since they returned together with Ye Qing and those people!”

Wanyan Hongsheng did not know that the message he received was intentionally leaked by Ye Qing. Ye Qing originally planned to use the news to deceive the Iga-ryu people but unexpectedly, the first to be misled were still the Wanyan Family.

Old Sixth Wanyan pondered for a moment and then suddenly said: ”If that’s the case, then has Lao Qi not already been captured by Ye Qing and his people? If he...if he has been captured by Ye Qing, how could he have obtained things from the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master? If that’s the case, Lao Qi must be deceiving us. Third Brother, in that case, we must not contact Lao Qi; perhaps Lao Qi is already working for Ye Qing now!”

Wanyan Hongsheng shook his head, stating, ”That’s Second Brother’s order!”

Old Sixth Wanyan stated, ”That’s because Second Brother doesn’t know the situation here. You should explain this situation to Second Brother!”

Wanyan Hongsheng replied, ”Old Sixth, Second Brother is in command of the Wanyan Family. Do you think his information would be more isolated than ours? Many things, we haven’t received information yet, but Second Brother has already gotten it first. Anything happening in Shenchuan City couldn’t possibly be concealed from him. This matter, he indeed knows about it.”

”Then...then why does he still want us to find Lao Qi?” Old Sixth Wanyan looked at Wanyan Hongsheng in astonishment and said, ”If Lao Qi really has collaborated with the Ye family, he might already have set up some trap waiting for us now. If we go, it’s like walking into a trap!”

”Of course, we won’t just go directly like that,” Wanyan Hongsheng sighed and said, ”Old Sixth, stop asking. Since Second Brother wants us to find Lao Qi, he must have arranged it; you don’t have to worry.”

Old Sixth Wanyan wanted to ask more, but after hearing Wanyan Hongsheng say this, he didn’t pursue it further. He wasn’t as sharp-minded as Wanyan Hongsheng and naturally didn’t understand what Wanyan Second Master actually had in mind. Although Wanyan Second Master also suspected the Seventh Elder of collaborating with Ye Qing and his group, that person still needed to be found.

After all, the Seventh Elder is a member of the Wanyan Family, helping them gather intelligence on many secrets of the Wo Country’s Ninja, and knowing some things about the Wanyan Family. If Ye Qing got hold of these messages, it would be troublesome. So whether or not he has something from the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master, he must be found, and at worst must be killed to prevent Ye Qing from getting the information. In essence, Wanyan Second Master had them test him out; if there was truly an issue with Seventh Elder, they should kill him to cover it up!

”So, when shall we seek Lao Qi?” Old Sixth Wanyan whispered, ”Shenchuan City is in chaos right now, and there are experts everywhere in the Hong Alliance Seven Rudders Manor. If Lao Qi is really confined within the Manor, finding him won’t be easy. Besides, many people are looking for us too; making a move now isn’t very suitable!”

”This matter cannot be rushed too much.” Wanyan Hongsheng said seriously, ”In a few days, it will be the fifteenth, which is when Fu Qingping and The Immortal Lord will battle on Mount Tai. During this battle, masters from all over will undoubtedly gather at the summit to witness this contest between two Beyond The Pinnacle masters. At that time, it is certain to be when the defenses of the Hong Alliance Seven Rudders are weakest. We should take advantage of that moment to search for Lao Qi; it will certainly be much easier!”

Wanyan Hongsheng had yet to comprehend that his decided time coincided precisely with Ye Qing’s timing to rescue Huangfu Ziyu. Fifteen Mount Tai, all matters seemed to pile up on this day. The life-and-death battle between Fu Qingping and The Immortal Lord would lead to what kind of changes in the world?

”Mount Tai battle!” Old Sixth Wanyan immediately perked up and said, ”Fu Qingping, that old villain, actually came out of the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master alive; his good fortune is impressive. But, what of it? This Mount Tai battle is destined to leave him without a burial place!”
