Urban Martial Saint

Upon seeing that this person wasn’t part of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, Zhou Haoyang immediately concluded that he was an accomplice of the person from earlier. This only further confirmed Zhou Haoyang’s suspicion that the person from earlier was indeed stalling them, so this accomplice could go to the main building to deal with Ye Qing.

Thinking of this, Zhou Haoyang took a deep breath and prepared to go out and stop this person. At this moment, a sudden splash came from the pond, followed by a head popping out of the water. As soon as he surfaced, he shouted, ”It’s no use, I can’t find it. I’ve searched every inch of this pond, there’s nothing here. Lao Qi, did you remember wrong? Isn’t it in this pond?”

Seeing another person emerge, Zhou Haoyang’s expression changed. One person next to the pond, one in the water, and they’re not the same person? Are these two people part of a team? But what are they doing in the pond?

Zhou Haoyang’s mind wasn’t very sharp, and seeing this situation, he felt overwhelmed. However, though Zhou Haoyang wasn’t quick-witted, he was quite bold. Despite the two opponents, Zhou Haoyang showed no fear and directly jumped out, shouting, ”Thief, how dare you cause trouble on the territory of the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance, courting death!”

Roaring with anger, Zhou Haoyang charged down, launching a hand strike towards the Purple Robe Lama on the shore. Not knowing who this person was, he assumed both were accomplices of the person from earlier, and so he recklessly picked one to start the fight.

Seeing Zhou Haoyang charging over, the Purple Robe Lama felt both delighted and upset. Delighted that the guy finally came to find them, upset because ’****** why are you attacking me instead of the enemy?’

Zhou Haoyang didn’t know about their disguise as Iga-ryu Elders, nor did he realize the person standing on the shore was the Purple Robe Lama. Seeing Zhou Haoyang’s fierce approach, the Purple Robe Lama refrained from speaking and dodged instead.

However, seeing the situation, Old Sixth Wan Yan jumped out of the water and confronted Zhou Haoyang directly. In his view, the Purple Robe Lama on the shore was their Old Seventh Wan Yan. Moreover, Old Seventh Wan Yan was poisoned, and now had no strength, so naturally, he wouldn’t be a match for Zhou Haoyang. Therefore, he stepped forward to face Zhou Haoyang first.

Seeing Old Sixth Wan Yan and Zhou Haoyang fighting, the Purple Robe Lama was content to watch the match from the sidelines. Zhou Haoyang, realizing that someone was eyeing him while dealing with a strong opponent, knew continuing alone wouldn’t be favorable. So while fighting Old Sixth Wan Yan, he called loudly for reinforcements.

Old Sixth Wan Yan was indeed stronger than Zhou Haoyang, potentially defeating him if faced in a solo match. The key problem, however, was that they were at the estate of the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance, Zhou Haoyang’s home ground, making it impossible for Old Sixth to hold out for long. When Zhou Haoyang’s reinforcements arrived, things would get tricky since he couldn’t contend against so many people.

Listening to Zhou Haoyang’s calls, Old Sixth Wan Yan grew increasingly anxious, repeatedly attempting to force Zhou Haoyang back to facilitate his and the Purple Robe Lama’s escape. However, Zhou Haoyang seemed to anticipate his intentions, relentlessly entangling him without giving any chance to retreat. With their powers not vastly different, Old Sixth lacked the strength of Bloody Monk, making it impossible to defeat Zhou Haoyang swiftly.

As the shouts from the Seven Steering Committees members grew nearer, Old Sixth Wan Yan grew extremely anxious. If this continued, they wouldn’t be able to escape. Still entangled by Zhou Haoyang, he found himself helpless, unable to break free from this predicament.

At this critical juncture, suddenly, a strong breeze arose from behind Zhou Haoyang—someone powerful launched an attack at him from behind.

Feeling the rush of wind from behind, Zhou Haoyang was shocked. While contending with Old Sixth Wan Yan, he was constantly wary of the Purple Robe Lama nearby, fearing a sudden sneak attack. Never did he expect that before the Purple Robe Lama could make a move, a third person would suddenly attack him from behind.

With Old Sixth tightly engaging him at the front and the new attacker moving swiftly and powerfully from behind, Zhou Haoyang found himself unable to dodge in time. Turning to defend was utterly impossible. This strike was unavoidable for him.

In that moment, Zhou Haoyang felt almost despairing. Was he truly about to die here?

The person who attacked Zhou Haoyang from behind was Wanyan Hongsheng. Earlier, he intended to lead Zhou Haoyang and the others away, but he didn’t expect that instead of pursuing, Zhou Haoyang began to station people to guard all the exits. This situation made him anxious; if the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance managed to block the exits, they would be in danger. So, he hurried over to the pond, intending to take Old Sixth Wan Yan and the Purple Robe Lama away. However, upon arrival, he saw Zhou Haoyang already fighting with Old Sixth Wan Yan.

In such circumstances, Wanyan Hongsheng made a decisive decision to kill Zhou Haoyang first. Otherwise, with Zhou Haoyang present, at least one of them would be held back. Moreover, Zhou Haoyang was a member of the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance; killing him would also weaken their strength. Thus, Wanyan Hongsheng quietly sneaked over, attacking Zhou Haoyang from behind while he was fully engaged in fighting Old Sixth Wan Yan.

The timing and position of Wanyan Hongsheng’s strike were impeccable, aiming for a one-hit kill to completely take down Zhou Haoyang. With the cooperation of Old Sixth Wan Yan, it seemed impossible for Zhou Haoyang to escape death this time. Looking at Zhou Haoyang in front of him, Wanyan Hongsheng smirked coldly; killing Zhou Haoyang would make their trip worthwhile!

However, just as Wanyan Hongsheng’s strike was about to hit Zhou Haoyang’s back, the Purple Robe Lama, who had been standing by watching, suddenly moved. His speed was so fast that he instantly rushed behind Zhou Haoyang, directly meeting Wanyan Hongsheng’s palm strike.

Both men stepped back simultaneously from the impact, showing that their strengths were evenly matched. However, this meant Wanyan Hongsheng’s blow didn’t land on Zhou Haoyang, sparing Zhou Haoyang’s life.

This situation was completely unexpected for the three on the scene. Wanyan Hongsheng, Old Sixth Wan Yan, and Zhou Haoyang all turned to look at the Purple Robe Lama, filled with confusion about what had happened. Despite their shared bewilderment, their feelings were not the same. Old Sixth Wan Yan and Wanyan Hongsheng were angrily shocked, while Zhou Haoyang was surprised and thrilled for having narrowly escaped with his life. He couldn’t believe that someone came to his rescue in such dire circumstances, especially since his savior seemed to be in cahoots with the other two—just what was going on?

”Old Seventh, what are you doing?” Old Sixth Wan Yan asked angrily. They could have killed Zhou Haoyang, but the Purple Robe Lama’s interference saved Zhou Haoyang’s life, placing them in danger instead.

Wanyan Hongsheng’s face was also cold with anger as he stared fiercely at the Purple Robe Lama, saying in a low voice, ”Old Sixth, it seems we were wrong. Old Seventh doesn’t just not hate us; he hates us deeply, to the point that he wants us dead!”

Even now, Wanyan Hongsheng hadn’t realized that the person in front of him wasn’t their Old Seventh Wan Yan. In his view, the actions of this ”Seventh Elder” were purely for revenge on them. He intentionally led them to the estate of the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance, exposing them to danger, as retribution for trapping him in the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master before!

The Purple Robe Lama was aware of how the Wanyan Family trapped the Seventh Elder in the Tomb of Ghost Valley Master. However, he didn’t consider the Seventh Elder’s identity at first. After learning about the Seventh Elder’s relationship with the Wanyan Family, he understood the meaning behind Wanyan Hongsheng’s words. Since he also didn’t want to expose his identity, he responded with a cold smile, ”Only just figuring it out? Isn’t it a bit late?”

”Old Seventh, you… you really…” Old Sixth Wan Yan’s eyes widened in anger, ”Everything was for the family; don’t you understand that at all?”

”For the family? Then why don’t you go die for it?” the Purple Robe Lama replied bluntly, speaking as if he were someone abandoned by his family. Hearing this, Wanyan Hongsheng and Old Sixth Wan Yan had no room to doubt his identity; they couldn’t have imagined that the person in front of them wasn’t their Old Seventh Wan Yan at all!

”Old Sixth, don’t waste your breath on him!” Wanyan Hongsheng took a deep breath and, seeing the members of the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance approaching from afar, said in a low voice, ”Don’t waste time here; let’s go!”

”Do you think you can escape?” Zhou Haoyang shouted loudly, launching himself at Old Sixth Wan Yan. Although he didn’t fully grasp the situation, he knew the Purple Robe Lama was on his side, and that was enough. Even though he wasn’t a match for them, this was the estate of the Seven Rudders of the Hong Alliance. Once their people arrived, the two wouldn’t be able to escape!

Old Sixth Wan Yan wanted to flee, but Zhou Haoyang was clinging to him tightly, preventing any chance of escape. Meanwhile, Wanyan Hongsheng, who had just tried to turn away, was immediately engaged by the Purple Robe Lama. The Purple Robe Lama’s strength was comparable to Wanyan Hongsheng’s; although he wasn’t prepared to fight to the death, it was basically impossible for Wanyan Hongsheng to escape past him.
