Urban Martial Saint

The Executioner Scholar was originally someone from the Sword Saint Sect. Although he was a traitor to the sect, he was still very familiar with its situation and naturally knew about the plan to have those four servants block the sound. Hence, he concluded that if the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect wanted to kill Ye Qing, he would surely have those four servants block the sound while he goes alone to kill Ye Qing, thus increasing the chances of success.

It must be said that the Executioner Scholar was indeed very knowledgeable about the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect, having accurately guessed his plan.

He explained his conjecture, and Wanyan Hongsheng immediately agreed to the Executioner Scholar’s method, as it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Not only could they kill Ye Qing, but they could also seize the items on him. In effect, it was a win-win situation for the Wanyan Family.

Moreover, if they acted with their faces covered so that no one could ascertain their identities, that would be best. Under the fury of Sword Saint Sect, they would undoubtedly send people to investigate this matter. As the news of the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect killing Ye Qing spread, it would then become an issue between Sword Saint Sect and the alliance of the Seven Steering Committees of the Hong Alliance, and the Wanyan Family need only watch the tiger fight from the hill without expending any effort.

Of course, the premise of this method was to first track the people of Sword Saint Sect closely. When they acted, members of the Wanyan Family must also follow closely. Otherwise, if the Young Master of Sword Saint Sect managed to retrieve the items from Ye Qing, then they would gain nothing.

Therefore, after deciding on this tactic, Wanyan Hongsheng immediately took Old Sixth Wan Yan and the Executioner Scholar to find the people of Sword Saint Sect. Fortunately, they had numerous informants arranged in Shenchuan City and easily found the hiding place of several Sword Saint Sect members. Naturally, Wanyan Hongsheng and his team did not enter but waited outside for the Sword Saint Sect members to act, at which point they could simply follow these individuals.

In Shenchuan City, Ye Qing had arranged everything, and Fu Qingping left first. He didn’t use the stairs but instead disappeared into the night using Qinggong. With Fu Qingping’s current skill level, those in the manor wouldn’t be able to detect him and naturally wouldn’t know what Ye Qing had arranged.

Ye Qing destroyed the black clothes Fu Qingping wore, then breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at his right wrist still glowing with the blue light of the Taoist Sovereign, Ye Qing’s heart beat slowly. Tomorrow, everything would depend on the power of this Taoist Sovereign!

Taking a deep breath, Ye Qing suddenly recalled Fu Qingping’s earlier words. Practicing the Innate Nine Diagrams in this room seemed somehow more effective than elsewhere. Ye Qing pondered for a moment, but decided to sit cross-legged like Fu Qingping and began cultivating the Innate Nine Diagrams.

Downstairs, Old Chen’s snoring continued to echo. Ye Qing originally thought the snoring would disturb his cultivation. Yet surprisingly, as soon as he sat down and practiced the Breathing Method according to Innate Nine Diagrams, the snoring seemed to crash against his body like waves, stimulating the flow of energy within him according to the positions of the Innate Nine Diagrams. Ye Qing was very puzzled by this development, as his own cultivation had never been this fast, nor had the process been this smooth. But this time, the snoring sound could actually stimulate the flow of internal power, which was indeed peculiar.

No wonder Fu Qingping mentioned that the cultivation speed would significantly improve here. Even Ye Qing, a person with missing meridians, found the internal power flowing freely and smoothly, much less Fu Qingping. The snoring sound seemed like a constant force driving the flow of Innate Skill within Ye Qing continually. Normally, Ye Qing took over half an hour to finish practicing the Innate Nine Diagrams once. Yet this time, he completed a full practice in just ten minutes, gaining much more compared to three usual practices, which shocked him greatly.

How could it be so effective? Could the sound of snoring really speed up the cultivation process? It shouldn’t be possible, right? Isn’t it just an ordinary snoring?

Ye Qing’s heart was filled with doubt as the effects of the snoring sound intrigued him greatly. Nevertheless, he couldn’t detect any special qualities within the snoring despite his attempts to listen repeatedly, merely speculating in his heart whether he had reached the realm Fu Qingping mentioned—forgetting objects and self.

He practiced two more rounds here, the day’s fatigue vanished completely, and Ye Qing felt invigorated. However, he didn’t continue cultivating and instead returned to the room to sleep first. He understood his condition, knowing that further cultivation would only strengthen the power of the Taoist Sect within him, but would not enhance his own strength.

Early the next morning, Ye Qing rose promptly. Upon descending the stairs, he found Old Chen in the kitchen enjoying a hearty meal, accompanied by the usual big appetite that never failed to surprise Ye Qing.

”Hey, good morning! I’ve ordered roast duck, want to join me?” Old Chen greeted Ye Qing, waving a duck leg at him.

”Who eats roast duck this early in the morning!” Ye Qing curled his lips, unable to eat such food. The old Chen had a curious appetite, consuming rich greasy food thrice a day, even indulged in large slabs of meat for snacks—this certainly wasn’t an elder’s diet!

Upon hearing Ye Qing’s remark, Old Chen immediately retorted, ”What do you mean nobody eats roast duck in the morning? Am I not eating? Are you blind or dumb, can’t see me eating here? What you said is wrong. You are clearly watching me eat, yet declared nobody would eat roast duck this early. This is deliberately erroneous on your part…”

Ye Qing hadn’t expected a single offhand comment would lead to such a tirade from Old Chen. Totally overwhelmed, he hurriedly turned and fled, leaving Old Chen behind to ramble to himself.

”Ah, young people these days!” Watching Ye Qing walk away, Old Chen shook his head, then turned to the busy cook in the kitchen. ”By the way, prepare a roast suckling pig for me tomorrow morning!”

”Huh?” The chef’s eyes widened. Having roast duck first thing in the morning was challenging enough, but now roast suckling pig too? Isn’t that way too greasy?

Old Chen: ”Huh what? If I tell you to prepare it, you prepare it. Why so much nonsense? If I ask you to prepare it, and you do, that’s right. If I don’t ask you, and you still prepare it, that’s redundant. Do you want to...”

The chef turned his head away. Having cooked for this old guy for two days, he was quite familiar with Old Chen’s personality. If he dared to utter half a word now, Old Chen would definitely nag him until lunchtime. So, keeping quiet was for the best!

Ye Qing was unaware of what was happening inside the house. He didn’t even dare to eat on his own side, instead heading straight to the yard where the Shen family lived.

Shen Tianjun was already up, practicing boxing in the yard. Seeing Ye Qing come over, he stopped and greeted him.

”Coming over so early, is there something you need?” Shen Tianjun asked.

Ye Qing nodded, ”There is something. If you’re not busy this morning, Uncle Shen, I’d like to discuss it with you.”

Seeing Ye Qing’s mysterious demeanor, Shen Tianjun didn’t ask more, ”When and where?”

Ye Qing: ”Around nine, at the courtyard of Sha Men, I’ll be waiting there.”

”Alright!” Shen Tianjun nodded promptly. Now that his family was inside the estate of the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance, he could slightly relax and leave for a bit.

Ye Qing also nodded, stood up to say goodbye, but his eyes couldn’t help but glance at the distant pavilion. On the pavilion sat a graceful woman. Although it was far away, Ye Qing could feel she was watching him.

Even though Ye Qing didn’t see her face, he knew this woman must be Shen Qingyi. He didn’t dare exchange glances with Shen Qingyi, just gave a light cough and slowly left the Shen family’s yard.

Shen Tianjun watched Ye Qing walk away, then turned to look at his granddaughter on the distant pavilion and couldn’t help but sigh. Matters of love and longing were inherently the most troublesome things in this world. Even if Shen Tianjun dared to oppose everyone in the world, he couldn’t stop his granddaughter’s feelings for Ye Qing. Maybe this was the mystique of fate.

Ye Qing then went to Sha Men’s courtyard, where the Bloody Monk was waiting for him, after all, Ye Qing had mentioned discussing the matter of the Buddha’s Relic with him.

Ye Qing had breakfast together with the Sha Men folks, and by nine o’clock, Shen Tianjun had arrived as well. Only then did Ye Qing state his purpose, to reveal the matter of the Buddha’s Relic to Shen Tianjun and the Bloody Monk, allowing them to comprehend the power of the Buddha’s Relic.

Having been through so much, Shen Tianjun, like the Bloody Monk, realized the inadequacy of his strength. Now having the chance to enhance his strength, of course, he wouldn’t refuse. So, together with the Bloody Monk, he listened to Ye Qing’s detailed explanation of the power of the Buddha’s Relic.

Actually, Ye Qing wasn’t as thoroughly knowledgeable about the power of the Buddha’s Relic before as he was now. After all, at that time, the Buddha’s Relic hadn’t been in his body for long. It’s different now; he has six Buddha’s Relics in his body, which is quite a significant number. With so many Buddha’s Relics, Ye Qing’s understanding of their power deepened.

After elaborating on the power of the Buddha’s Relic, Ye Qing drew out its power, allowing the Bloody Monk and Shen Tianjun to witness the power of the Buddha’s Relic firsthand. Ye Qing had previously demonstrated this to Fu Qingping, and Fu Qingping’s strength rapidly advanced because of this Buddha’s Relic’s power.

The comprehension of the Bloody Monk and Shen Tianjun wasn’t much less than Fu Qingping’s. This was evident as they, though junior, could possess strength surpassing many seniors. In fact, before Fu Qingping’s rapid advancement, he was only slightly stronger than the Bloody Monk and Shen Tianjun, not by much.

Calculating further, the understanding of the Bloody Monk and Shen Tianjun wasn’t much different from Fu Qingping. Therefore, after Ye Qing’s explanation and witnessing the power of the Buddha’s Relic, both were deeply enlightened.
