The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

After speaking, Meng Yunzheng walked to the weapon rack with the spear and returned it, then selected a sword, tested it, and walked back to the center of the martial stage.

Just right, he had been busying around with Qi Lie lately and hadn’t had a thrilling fight with anyone for a long time.

Seeing the commotion on the martial stage earlier, the blood-boiling scene made his fingers itch for action.

He lifted his sword and said to Uncle Meng, ”Uncle, please rest off the stage for now.”

”Alright, alright.”

Uncle Meng was supported down by Ms. Tao, and only then did Meng Yunzheng turn to face the escort across.

Escort Master Qu was in his thirties, with a burly physique and a very stable base.

He glanced at Meng Yunzheng, hesitated for a moment, then said, ”Scholar Meng, I’m a rough man, if I injure you, this...”

”It’s okay, Uncle Qu, just go ahead.”

Escort Master Qu silently sighed, thinking he’d better hold back a bit later; injuring him wouldn’t be good. They say Scholar Meng is going to take the provincial examination this year, can’t ruin his future.

Thinking about this, Escort Master Qu charged forward with the knife, but the moves were very cautious, obviously much more restrained compared to his spar earlier with Uncle Meng.

However, in the next moment, with a ’clang’, the knife in Escort Master Qu’s hand was suddenly knocked out and fell directly under the martial stage.

Escort Master Qu was stunned, the skin on his tiger’s mouth was burning but not injured, though the muscles were trembling.

He raised his head in shock; this was not the force a frail scholar should have.

The escorts beneath the stage were also taken aback, but soon someone shouted, ”Old Qu, you’re letting it off too obviously.”

”Exactly, your hand was so weak, no strength at all, look, the knife’s flown away.”

Others saw Escort Master Qu not exerting force and thought he did it intentionally, completely not expecting him to even contend with Meng Yunzheng.

Only Escort Master Qu knew the force that knocked his knife was heavy.

Yes, he wasn’t fast or strong in his moves, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t holding the knife steadily.

Escort Master Qu swallowed his saliva, took the knife handed by the escort below, took a deep breath, and said to Meng Yunzheng with burning eyes, ”Once more.”

”Alright.”

With a ’clang’, knife and sword collided, sparks flew, and the interaction instantly became murderous.

The escorts beneath the stage shouted ’whoa’, surprised at the dazzling display of knife and sword between the two.

Just like Uncle Meng said, Escort Master Qu was very stable, every move solid.

Meng Yunzheng was different, his movements were skillful, forceful, and his foundation equally steady.

From a young age, he learned martial arts with Meng Pei, later his mother saved Uncle Yan, who came from the Worldly Society, the most skilled in the escort agency, and Meng Yunzheng learned from him.

After turning ten, Gong Qiu took him back to the Gong Family, because he explained to Gong Qiu that his mind was damaged, studies and imperial exams useless, Gong Qiu made him learn martial arts, inviting several excellent martial instructors.

Meng Yunzheng performed quite normally in front of Gong Qiu, but secretly he had learned all he could.

For practicing martial arts, he didn’t miss a single day.

Although Escort Master Qu had good skills, he gradually found himself unable to match Meng Yunzheng’s attacks; soon, his knife was once again knocked out, a sword held horizontally at his neck.

Gasping for large breaths, Escort Master Qu’s face was surprisingly excited, he bowed to Meng Yunzheng and said, ”Young Master Meng, splendid skills.”
