The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Meng Han was furious, ”Of course it matters. He’s busy with the Office’s affairs every day, and he doesn’t even know a rival in love has appeared...”

Her cousin wasn’t worried, but as his sister, she was anxious. So she needed to make Gan Rui retreat in the face of difficulties. The next day, she followed Gan Rui, trying to find some dirt on him to threaten him to stay away from Lu’s and stay away from Sister Shuyu.

”That day I followed Gan Rui, and on the way, I saw a carriage galloping towards us, almost hitting a child. I couldn’t just stand and watch, so I rushed up and pulled the child to the side, even kicked the reckless horse. As a result, the carriage stopped, and the person inside almost fell out.”

The child’s father ran over in shock, holding the crying child, just about to apologize, but who knew the owner of the carriage was outraged and accused them of blocking the way, frightening his horse, and causing him injury.

This person had the appearance of a spoiled heir, and as soon as he opened his mouth, he asked for compensation.

Meng Han was amused by his blame-shifting attitude and immediately started arguing with logic.

She wanted to pull the child’s father to testify, but the father, afraid of the spoiled heir and fearing compensation, stood on the heir’s side, accusing Meng Han.

Saying Meng Han should save the child, but why kick the carriage.

Saying he was grateful that Meng Han saved his son, but damages should indeed be compensated.

He also said Meng Han frightened his child, who is still crying nonstop.

Meng Han was speechless, and although the onlookers pointed fingers, no one dared to step forward and speak for her.

Meng Han was good at handling things, but verbal sparring was not her strong suit, especially when the other party was unreasonable, she was almost driven to tears after just a few words.

It was at this time Gan Rui arrived; Meng Han was following him out, so they were not far apart.

Seeing Meng Han being bullied, Gan Rui couldn’t stand it.

As a Scholar, there was no worry about his eloquence. He spoke rapidly and dealt with unreasonable people with a barrage of arguments, citing references during disputes, effortlessly introducing Dasu laws, leaving the other party with no chance to speak and forcing them to retreat step by step.

The opponent wanted to resort to violence, but he stood firm, saying he was a Scholar and unjustly beating someone with a title would lead to corporal punishment.

Eventually, the heir and the father left in disgrace after apologizing and offering compensation.

Meng Han initially found Gan Rui annoying, questioning his character and intentions towards Sister Shuyu, but that day she felt Gan Rui was surrounded by a halo.

After that, she stopped following Gan Rui, but she also noticed Gan Rui didn’t appear at Lu’s anymore.

Meng Han inexplicably felt a bit... lost.

She felt something was not quite right with this state; she wanted to change, but seemed unable to control herself. She kept recalling that day’s scene and even remembered every word Gan Rui said.

Shu Yu listened, silently for a long time.

Indeed, a revelation.

She hadn’t expected the two of them to have such an experience.

”Sister Shuyu, what do you think I should do next?”

”Let it take its natural course.” Matters of the heart are not easy for outsiders to intervene in.

Especially since the two are still young and naive; she can’t easily expose it.

Meng Han blinked, ”Huh?”

”In any case, remember one thing: Gan Rui doesn’t like me, hmm?” Shu Yu stood up, patted her shoulder, and went back inside with the tray of snacks.

Meng Han blinked, Sister, I haven’t eaten any of those snacks yet.
