Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 145: Chapter 134: The Spread of Physiological Health??

Xu Tianyi was discharged from the hospital and then rested at home for a few more days. Luo Qianqian had consulted the doctor to confirm there would be no issues before she finally felt at ease to let Xu Tianyi go to school. Ironically, such a big matter of being hospitalized was kept so secret that, besides reporting his absence to teachers, even Luo Shufan, his own brother, didn’t know that the reason for his sister not returning home for two nights was because she was in the hospital taking care of someone. He merely thought she was playing at a classmate’s house.

”Finish your porridge before going to class,” Luo Qianqian said early in the morning, blocking the entrance to Xu Tianyi’s house and shoving the millet porridge she bought into his hands. Are you kidding me? As a person reborn like her, couldn’t she take care of a middle school student? Eating meals on time and taking good care of one’s stomach, he certainly wouldn’t continue to be so frail.

Xu Tianyi, looking at the small figure blocking his doorway, paused slightly, then opened the door to let Luo Qianqian in: ”Have you eaten?”

”I have, now hurry up and eat,” Luo Qianqian waved her hands and earnestly sat on the couch, swinging her legs.

”Alright,” Xu Tianyi had grown accustomed to Luo Qianqian’s behaviors over the past few days. Watching her fidgety legs, he paused and then sat down at the dining table to start on his porridge: ”Porridge every day, it’s tasteless.”

”Spicy vegetables are bad for your health, and Baozi is too greasy as well,” Luo Qianqian blinked, pulling out her phone and pressing something: ”How about pig’s trotters tonight?”

”Okay,” Xu Tianyi paused, then nodded his head. Having chicken soup, fish soup, and pork trotter soup every day in the hospital, he began to think he was doing the month-long postpartum confinement.

”Finished? Then let’s go,” Luo Qianqian said, seeing that Xu Tianyi’s plastic cup was empty. She stood up with her backpack, put her phone back in her pocket, and hesitantly said, ”There might be some rumors in school, don’t take them seriously, I’ll handle it.”

”Alright,” Xu Tianyi looked at Luo Qianqian’s expression and, without asking further, nodded and followed her out the door.

As Luo Qianqian expected, they barely entered the school when they heard Wang Wei gossiping with another class: ”You think that’s something? Our class has someone really impressive, dating three people at once, and not even a bit scared. We have two in our class like that. One has been absent for a week, who knows what’s happened.”

Luo Qianqian’s expression turned cold, somewhat guiltily she glanced at Xu Tianyi’s face, and upon seeing the chill on his face she quickly said, ”He’s not telling the truth, how can I possibly do that? I’m so young.”

”I know,” Xu Tianyi, seeing the concern on Luo Qianqian’s face, felt much more comfortable. How could the child who calls him Scholar God all day possibly be that kind of kid?

”Qianqian.” A voice came from behind, and both turned around.

”Gu Yanzhi, you’re not very early today,” Luo Qianqian said with relief upon seeing who it was, speaking with a very relaxed expression.

Noticing the boy beside Luo Qianqian and not heading to his class, Gu Yanzhi waited behind her, then asked with curiosity, ”And who might this be?”

”Oh, let me introduce you guys. Scholar, Xu Tianyi, this is Class One’s Gu Yanzhi; Gu Yanzhi, this is our class’s Xu Tianyi,” Luo Qianqian blinked, feeling that Gu Yanzhi was a good person. It would be great if Xu Tianyi became friends with him. Then he wouldn’t be so cold all the time, like he’d been frozen in an iceberg for five hundred years before finally thawing out.

”Hello,” Gu Yanzhi revealed an epiphany-like smile, ”So you’re Xu Tianyi. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

”Hello,” Xu Tianyi glanced at Gu Yanzhi then looked away. Wearing glasses, he seemed to be a scholarly looking guy too, and quite handsome. Why are all the boys around Luo Qianqian so good-looking? Thinking of this, Xu Tianyi’s expression grew colder as he looked at Luo Qianqian.

Luo Qianqian noticed Xu Tianyi’s change in expression and quickly said goodbye to Gu Yanzhi, pulling Xu Tianyi towards the classroom, ”What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell again? Do you need to take a leave?”

Xu Tianyi stared at the hand Luo Qianqian was holding and froze for a while, ”No.”

”That’s good, you must tell me if you’re not feeling well,” Luo Qianqian sighed with relief.

As soon as they entered the classroom, they were met with strange looks from their classmates. Luo Qianqian looked at Wang Wei in confusion. Wang Wei’s face was brimming with a victorious grin, ”Luo Qianqian, do you know that puppy love can lead to disciplinary action?”

”Are you sick?” Luo Qianqian’s expression turned cold, ”I’m only at the age you were in third or fourth grade in primary school, right? If you knew so much in third or fourth grade, then you now...” As she spoke, she eyed Wang Wei from top to bottom, ”Don’t look all too impressive either. So dark skinned, how blind would a girl have to be to fancy you, oh no, how blind would anyone have to be? When you walk home at night, do you become invisible as soon as it gets dark?”

”You...” Wang Wei struggled to hold back, unable to swear in front of the class monitor who had arrived. ”What’s there to argue about? Look at your own hand, still holding that boy’s hand, if that’s not puppy love, what is?”

Luo Qianqian belatedly looked at her hand holding Xu Tianyi’s, and then at Xu Tianyi. Seeing that he wasn’t angry, she let go, ”Same line as before—look at my age before you speak. I still sleep in the same bed as my brother, what about it?” It was only until before the age of five anyway.

”Does being young matter? Haven’t you seen the news? A five-year-old can become a mother, and a seven-year-old a father,” Wang Wei looked at Luo Qianqian with a sneer.

Luo Qianqian pushed Xu Tianyi back to his seat, placed her backpack down and went to the podium, ”Since you’ve said this, let me enlighten you about physical health.” Luo Qianqian picked up the chalk and drew a circle on the blackboard, ”This is an ovum. The ovum is spherical with a nucleus, surrounded by the vitelline membrane, and the exterior of the egg has a coat mainly composed of glycoproteins, secreted by the ovum or other cells. In mammals, this coat is known as the zona pellucida, which functions to protect the ovum and prevent the entry of sperm from different species. Many ova under the zona pellucida have a layer of secretory vesicles called cortical granules. When fertilized, the exocytosis of the cortical granules causes structural changes in the zona pellucida, forming a fertilization membrane to prevent other sperm from entering. Ova contain more cytoplasm than sperm, providing nutrition. After a girl begins her menstrual periods, she will release an ovum each month, but in exceptional cases, two or more can be released. So, a female is not capable of conceiving before her menstrual periods start, as even if fertilization occurs, there is no ovum. Do you understand?” Luo Qianqian looked at Wang Wei with a sneer, ”Shall I continue?”

Outside the classroom, Xiu Xian’s mouth twitched as he looked at the dean beside him, not sure what to say.

”So that’s Luo Qianqian from your class. A good kid, quite knowledgeable,” the principal remarked and patted Xiu Xian on the shoulder, ”These two kids in your class are promising, nurture them well.”

”I don’t even know how to deal with this anymore,” Xiu Xian replied with a bitter smile, looking at the circle on the blackboard.

”Let them handle it themselves. Top students always have some privileges,” the principal said as he turned and left. Luo Qianqian, at the podium, saw Xiu Xian through the window in the corridor, stuck out her tongue, and ran back to her seat.

When Xiu Xian entered the classroom, he was also somewhat helpless, looking at the largely dumbfounded students, ”The grade rankings have been released.”
