Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 112: Chapter 102: ’Usury’ Buyout of Kinship (Part 3)

```
”If we sever ties, aside from the fixed monthly elderly support, there will be no further contact. Medical expenses like hospital fees will be split in half. What do you think?” Luo Qianqian knew it was time to speak for herself.
”Wasn’t it always like that for so many years before? I think that was quite fine,” He Jun chuckled. ”I don’t want to support a bunch of ingrates. I still need to save for Xiao Yu’s dowry.”
”Then, godfather, under what circumstances do you think they would leave you on their own, not daring to provoke you?” Luo Qianqian didn’t dare to disclose her plan, afraid that He Jun would get angry, so she could only coax him gently.
”Under what circumstances? Heh.” He Jun sighed. ”Drowning in debt, in order to avoid dragging them down with me.”
”Right... So godfather, what if you were ’drowning in debt,’ and your wife and daughter cut ties with you for fear of being implicated, and then they came knocking, hoping they could help you pay off your debts? How does that sound?” Luo Qianqian spoke as if she had been pondering for a long time. He Wenyu and Luo Shufan didn’t dare to let out a breath, afraid Mr. He would notice their unease.
”Good idea.” He Jun slammed the table.
”Then do you think you should sign a divorce agreement first?” Luo Qianqian asked cautiously, ”The kind where you hand over all your assets to godmother and leave with nothing.”
”Yes, that’s a good idea,” said He Jun. After a pause, he laughed, ”You all discussed this before coming, didn’t you?”
Seeing that He Jun had seen through them, Luo Qianqian didn’t hide it and nodded directly, ”Yes. If things continue this way, a perfectly good family will really fall apart. Godmother is at home all day, not saying a word; if this goes on, she’s bound to become depressed.”
He Jun nodded. ”I understand, I’m the one to blame. Marrying me was beneath her, I’m well aware of that.”
”Then can you talk to godmother about this? Right now, we don’t even dare to speak to godmother...” Of course, this was a lie, but Mother He had indeed been quite gloomy these days, very different from her usual cheerfulness.
”Okay, you guys get ready, and I’ll do as you say,” He Jun stood up. ”I promised Yueran a home, and I can’t let it be ruined by that elder brother anymore!”
Luo Qianqian and He Wenyu exchanged looks and finally breathed a sigh of relief. They went home to prepare various documents and then took them to He Jun’s office.
”Here are the IOUs, just write your name, and we’ll handle the fingerprints. This is safer,” said He Jun, looking at the dozen or so IOUs amounting to nearly a six-figure total, his mouth twitched.
”You’ve prepared all this so thoroughly?” He was surprised at the different names on each IOU.
”These are with the names of me and Qianqian’s classmates, and these are with my brother’s classmate’s names,” He Wenyu said nonchalantly, pressing his fingerprints onto the ink pad with several firm presses.
”Is there anything you haven’t thought of?” He Jun signed his name, still feeling a bit uncomfortable inside.
”There is, like maybe you could go get a cast, you’re a Taekwondo teacher, and I’m worried about the people we might find...” Luo Qianqian’s mouth curved into a smirk.
”Okay, but if... if they don’t want to sever ties with me, can we drop this?” He Jun still held out hope.
”Sure, but you can’t say these IOUs are fake. You have to pay them back,” Luo Qianqian tilted her head and chuckled lightly; He Jun in his past life had been hurt deeply before he realized who truly cared for him.
He Wenyu looked at the stack of various signed papers and sighed. Having such a grandmother was truly her biggest regret in life.
”I’ll talk to your mother tonight, and when you go back, don’t say too much,” He Jun thought of his wife, mentioned by others as gloomy, and felt worried. He decided to ask her that night.
”Alright.”
---
That evening, He Jun called Huang Yueran to talk about this matter, and Huang Yueran was stunned.
”Really? If they don’t care about you, you won’t care about them anymore?”
”Yes, I have a wife and children to take care of, I don’t have so much money to spare.”
”Okay, then I agree. But are the arrangements made by the children reliable?”
”You have to trust the children you brought into this world,” he said.
”You’re right. For Xiao Yu’s future, I can’t hold back anymore. Being pointed at and cursed as a loss every day, Xiao Yu will grow up wrong, self-destructive, and that won’t be good.”
```

”Exactly, that’s my daughter; no one is allowed to say otherwise.”

A few people were hiding in He Wenyu’s room, listening to Mother He on the phone. They finally breathed a sigh of relief. Luo Qianqian was also sending a message to Bai Yixian with her phone, and soon after, she received the reply ’OK.’

”Have your dad go to the hospital for a plaster cast tomorrow, and then he can just go play his part in the evening,” Luo Qianqian smiled. ”But we don’t have a role to play tomorrow, so we can only hide well and watch the show.”

”Watch the show? My dad’s gonna get beaten up tomorrow,” said He Wenyu, pouting discontentedly.

”So, no beating?” Luo Qianqian asked with a teasing look at He Wenyu.

”That’s out of the question,” He Wenyu quickly responded.

”Pfft—” Luo Qianqian, Luo Shufan, and He Wenyu looked at each other and burst into laughter.

A good night’s sleep.

”Zhuzi, why are you up and about instead of sleeping?” Sitting in Bai Yixian’s car, the masterminds behind the scenes were holding a meeting.

”How could you not include me in such a fun affair? That’s not very friendly,” complained Bai Yizhu, pouting. ”But fortunately, you guys were smart enough not to expose your new home.”

”My mom warned my dad not to mention it,” said He Wenyu, turning to look out the window.

”Did you find your former subordinates?” Luo Qianqian asked Bai Yixian in a low voice.

”Yes,” nodded Bai Yixian.

”Have they dealt with usurious loans before?” Luo Qianqian continued.

Bai Yixian rolled his eyes, ”Duh, who’s in the underworld and doesn’t loan-shark?”

”That’ll do. Go easy on Xiao Yu’s dad, but when it comes to those two fat bastards, hit them hard—hit them in a way that won’t leave a mark,” Luo Qianqian sneered.

”Got it.”

”By the way, should we bring some paint?” Luo Qianqian suddenly had a brainwave and asked.

”What do we need paint for?” Luo Shufan asked, caught off guard by his sister’s question.

”Isn’t that what they do in Hong Kong and Taiwanese movies? ’Debt repayment’... they write with paint on the walls,” Luo Qianqian blinked innocently.

”You know that’s just in movies,” Bai Yizhu scoffed at Luo Qianqian’s question. ”Don’t confuse art with reality.”

”You’re quite artistic-looking; too bad you live in reality,” Luo Qianqian said and then turned to look out the window, ignoring him.

”Don’t worship me; I’m as legendary as they say,” Bai Yizhu heard it as praise.

”They’re coming,” Bai Yixian pointed at the five people dressed in down jackets, bundled up tight, walking towards them.

”You’re wearing that? Aren’t you afraid of getting dirty?” Bai Yixian asked, frowning at the light-colored down jackets.

”How could we? Brother Bai, we’re the ones doing the serious work on the inside,” they said, pulling down their down jackets to reveal the suits underneath.

”Okay, what about the others?” Bai Yixian looked around and saw no one else.

”We’re in two groups. We’ll go up and break the door, then move stuff around. The other group will just bring Brother He over. You thought of everything, really. It is indeed strange for a Taekwondo instructor not to fight back, so we cast both arms and legs in plaster.”

”Alright, just be careful yourselves,” Bai Yixian nodded, watching as the sky grew darker and showing a meaningful smile.
