Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 133: Chapter 122: What on Earth is Class Treasure?

”The results are out, huh...” Looking at Luo Qianqian’s unconcerned face, Xiu Xian said awkwardly, ”Class Rep, come over and help distribute the test papers.”

”Teacher, I haven’t even gotten to know everyone yet, and you want me to hand out the papers? Are you serious? How about reading out the names and having people come up to get the papers so everyone can get acquainted?” Luo Qianqian, already annoyed by Sun Xuan’s constant mockery, could only pretend to seriously suggest in response to the classroom teacher’s proposal.

”That works too... Luo Qianqian 120 points, first in the grade.” Xiu Xian couldn’t help but laugh as he looked at the first test paper; he had just been mocked mercilessly by Xiao He in the staff room, saying that there was only one good piece of meat in his class, and it would be corrupted in no time.

Starting with the second paper, Xiu Xian’s face grew less cheerful, ”Pei Yuhao 66 points, quite an auspicious score.”

”Li Qi 60 points, you’d be passing if the perfect score was 100.”

...

”Those mentioned were the ones with two-digit scores, for the rest, Wang Wei 7 points, Shi Yilun 6 points, Wang Tianlei 6 points, Wang Yang 5 points, Zhao Le 4 points, and there are two unnamed, whoever didn’t hear their name called stand up, one got 38 points, the other 2 points.” As soon as Xiu Xian finished speaking, he saw Sun Xuan standing up proudly alongside a trembling Sui Jiao.

”Come and see who’s papers these are, one is a total mess with scribbles all over scoring two points, and the other is all creased and crumpled.” When Xiu Xian picked up the two test papers, Luo Qianqian saw Sun Xuan’s shoulders, which were previously straight, slowly slump.

”Wow, I got 38?” The sound of Sui Jiao’s surprised joy spread throughout the class.

”Although the top scorer in the grade is in our class, our class’s overall average score is second last in the grade. But you all haven’t learned this material yet, I believe everyone will do very well once you’ve studied it.” Xiu Xian gave a wry smile, trying to comfort the students, but it seemed like he was the only one embarrassed by the second-to-last place ranking; the top scoring class representative didn’t care, and neither did anyone else seem to feel any shame.

”Isn’t it fine as long as we’re not last?” Sun Xuan said to Xiu Xian, unimpressed.

”Then congratulations on being last in the grade in math?” Xiu Xian laughed in frustration, six out of thirty in the class had single-digit scores and she still had the gall to say that?

Sun Xuan was startled and sat down, with Luo Qianqian at the right angle to see her ears turning red.

”Those who want to correct theirs, come to the Class Rep after class to get your paper and look it over. I won’t explain the knowledge we haven’t covered yet, we’ll go over it when we get to those points in the lessons.” Xiu Xian said softly as he looked at the workbook spread out in front of Luo Qianqian, then quietly added, ”Turn to page three of your math textbook.”

”Luo Qianqian, let me have a look,” Pei Yuhao, who was sitting behind Luo Qianqian, spoke to the girl in front of him for the first time, a bit rushed.

”What? Oh...” Luo Qianqian was startled and then realized he was talking about the math test paper, and she handed it to Pei Yuhao, quietly looking at the English original novel borrowed from her brother.

”Luo Qianqian, how did you get from this step to that step?” Not long after, Pei Yuhao poked Luo Qianqian’s shoulder again.

Luo Qianqian turned around speechlessly, looked at her own test paper, slightly puzzled by what Pei Yuhao was asking, she could only take the test paper he had pressed under a book and start to read through it.

”Don’t...” Seeing Luo Qianqian’s non-mocking expression, Pei Yuhao waited quietly for her to finish.

”The mistake is right here, the reason you got half right is because you calculated this value, it doesn’t mean everything you wrote was correct...” Once Luo Qianqian was done reviewing Pei Yuhao’s paper, she laid it on the desk and lightly circled it with a pencil.

”So that’s why, no wonder I couldn’t understand your paper, but how should I calculate this value then?” Pei Yuhao furrowed his brow as if finally seeing the point.

”Hey, think because you came first you can treat everyone as if they’re beneath you, explaining problems to them, think you’re a teacher?” Sun Xuan’s voice wafted over, Luo Qianqian frowned and then quickly made two strokes with her pencil, ”Look at this condition again,” and threw down her pen, turning her head away, not bothering with Sun Xuan.

”Can’t even do that right, sheesh, really thinks she’s a teacher.” Sun Xuan, seeing Pei Yuhao with his brows knitted looking at the test paper and thinking Luo Qianqian couldn’t explain it well, let out an uncontrollable jeer, ”Who knows if that perfect score wasn’t copied? Everyone else’s are so low and just you’re high scoring!”

”Who would I copy from? You?” Luo Qianqian looked up at Sun Xuan with a laugh, ”If I really could copy a score of one hundred and twenty from a two-point paper, why would I still go to school? Wouldn’t I just copy and be in college already?”

”What’s there to be so proud of? You think you can always do this? Wait till we’ve learned, we’ll do much better than you!” Sun Xuan retorted, not willing to concede.

”You can boast in front of me when you’ve learned it, until then you’re not in any position to.” Luo Qianqian snorted coldly.

”Hey, what’s going on here?” Wang Wei hurried to the scene to help Sun Xuan, who was at a disadvantage: ”I heard the test answers were lost.”

Luo Qianqian watched the two of them acting with amusement and shook her head with a smile: ”Catch me then talk. Without evidence, everything is just slander.”

”Someone’s looking for you, Luo Qianqian,” a classmate called from the door.

”Who is it?” Luo Qianqian bypassed Sun Xuan and the others and went to the doorway, seeing a boy with glasses and fair skin standing there.

”Are you looking for me?” Luo Qianqian blinked, the boy was really handsome, if only he weren’t too tall to take home and play Barbie dolls with.

”Are you Luo Qianqian?” A gentle voice, Luo Qianqian thought even Luo Yanran’s voice at his peak in a previous life couldn’t have been better.

”Yes, it’s me.” Luo Qianqian calmed down, looking straight into the boy’s eyes.

The boy was slightly surprised and found it funny that maybe she was too young to feel his charm, so he said, ”I’m Gu Yanzhi from Class One. I heard you got a perfect score and wanted to borrow the paper to have a look.”

”I’ve already lent it to someone else. Is it okay if I lend it to you next class?” Luo Qianqian thought about the classmate behind her still using it and shook her head saying no.

”Sure, I’ll come to get it next class.” Gu Yanzhi looked at Luo Qianqian and asked softly, ”If you’re so brilliant, why aren’t you in Class One or Two?”

”The early bird catches the worm...” Luo Qianqian said without thinking and then caught herself, her cheeks turning red. How could she speak like that? She scolded herself in embarrassment.

”Pfft, you really are amusing. I’ll come over next class, then. I’ve reserved it already, no lending it to anyone else,” Gu Yanzhi said with a smile, rubbing the top of Luo Qianqian’s head before turning to leave.

Luo Qianqian blinked—was he treating her like a little dog?

”Pretty impressive, hooking up with someone from another class on the first day of school,” she heard a slightly sour voice as soon as she entered the classroom.

Luo Qianqian scoffed, ”If you were as excellent, people would come to you too. Instead of mocking others, you should better yourself.” With that, she returned to her seat.

Li Qi looked at Luo Qianqian with a smile and asked, ”That was Gu Yanzhi just now, right?”

”How do you know? Do you know him?” Luo Qianqian blinked, stopping what she was doing because of Li Qi’s words.

”He was my classmate in elementary school, always very outstanding, especially in math. I heard he scored second this time, with something like ninety-something,” Li Qi said gossipy and in a low voice, ”Someone confessed to him on Qixi Festival, guess what he said?”

”Qixi Festival? This year’s Qixi hasn’t come yet, you mean last year’s? So mature in elementary school?” Luo Qianqian opened her mouth wide in surprise.

”I forget you’re still a kid,” Li Qi slapped his forehead, ”You’ll understand later. But let me tell you, he said he wants someone he can chase after, not someone inferior to him. That girl ran off heartbroken on the spot,” Li Qi said with a giggle, covering his mouth.

”I feel the same way. The person I want must be more excellent than me. That’s the only way I can admire them. If they’re not as good as I am, why should I compromise and lower my standards? Only if they’re better can there be motivation to chase after them,” Luo Qianqian nodded in agreement with Gu Yanzhi’s thoughts.

”You two probably just think differently,” Li Qi looked at Luo Qianqian with a twitch at the corner of his mouth, then opened the book for her, ”Hurry up and study. You better use the time you spend raising horses to plant grass. You’re too young now; it’s not the time to think about these things.”

”Stop leading the kid astray,” Pei Yuhao, who had been looking down, glanced at Luo Qianqian, raised an eyebrow, and said to Li Qi, ”She’s our class treasure. It’ll be your responsibility if you corrupt her.”

”I’m not a panda...” Luo Qianqian muttered in dissatisfaction as her seatmate and the one behind her burst into laughter.

Gu Yanzhi did come to take away the paper during the second period. When he returned it at noon, he also brought a bottle of Wahaha, smiling and saying it was convenient to come by often, as good borrowing and returning pave the way for more. Luo Qianqian accepted it, adding a measure of fondness for Gu Yanzhi.
