Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 144: Chapter 133: Rumors and Gossip

Luo Qianqian only had two days off, and after seeing that Xu Tianyi was alright on the second evening, she went back home to wash up, sleep, get dressed, and the next morning, she went to the hospital to deliver food and took his backpack from his home before going to school. As she entered the classroom, because it wasn’t too late, many students had already arrived, she heard Sun Xuan’s voice.

”My eyes saw it clear as day; Luo Qianqian definitely has something going on with Xu Tianyi.” Luo Qianqian stood at the doorway, silently looking at Sun Xuan, without entering.

Wang Wei joined in, ”To think that such a woman could join our class, what a huge joke!” After musing for a bit, he continued, ”Who knows who else she might have something going on with? Don’t be fooled by her age; she’s quite skillful.”

”These past few days, she probably couldn’t get out of someone’s bed and ended up not coming to school,” Sun Xuan said, while Luo Qianqian’s heart slowly turned cold. There were always people who couldn’t stand to see others living better lives than theirs. What’s this nonsense about flies not targeting seamless eggs? Is jealousy only reserved for those with flaws?

”The class advisor is so biased towards her, probably just for the sake of the monthly exam results...” Wang Wei’s lewd laughter reached Luo Qianqian’s ears, making her face grow even colder.

”Qianqian, why aren’t you coming in?” Pei Yuhao and Pei Yutian, seeing Luo Qianqian standing at the entrance, couldn’t help but ask.

”No way, she’s seduced Gu Yanzhi, Pei Yuhao, and the transfer student, and now she’s even not sparing the class advisor?” Sun Xuan’s slightly exaggerated laughter traveled to the ears of the trio.

Pei Yuhao kicked open the classroom door with a foot, and the room fell instantly silent from the shock.

Seeing Pei Yuhao and Luo Qianqian behind him, Sun Xuan’s complexion turned pale, but then she quickly mustered strength to retort, ”Yo, going after the class president now, huh? Weren’t you close with the transfer student?”

”Heh, probably her body is too frail; she isn’t as strong as the class president.” Most twelve or thirteen-year-old kids have already started to develop and are quite curious about such matters; it was normal for them to seek out some understanding. Wang Wei’s words made Pei Yuhao’s face grow grim, and just as he was about to speak, Luo Qianqian pulled him back.

”The class president Gu Yanzhi, and even the class advisor are innocent; there’s no need to drag them into this. I don’t care if you talk bad about me, just don’t cause trouble for other students chasing after handsome guys.” Luo Qianqian smiled slightly, ”These past few days, I’ve been with Xu Tianyi; if you want to spread rumors, please investigate thoroughly before doing so, or else I might sue you for slander. If more than five hundred people spread this, the two of you who started this rumor could face jail time, you know. There’s the ’Protection of Minors Act’, and you’d have to spend time in juvenile detention.”

”As for Xu Tianyi, even if his health isn’t the best, he’s still better than those who can only move their mouths. At the very least, Xu Tianyi has a substantial brain capacity, something you paramecium-like creatures can’t comprehend about the lifestyle of highly intelligent beings.” Luo Qianqian walked casually to her seat and looked at Wang Wei coldly.

Why would her Scholar God let this single-celled rumor spread? Luo Qianqian scoffed. Revenge didn’t require haste. Since they were so interested in those matters, it would be a pity not to indulge their imaginations.

”Paramecium?” Pei Yutian looked at Luo Qianqian, ”What’s a paramecium?”

”...It’s a way to insult someone,” Luo Qianqian replied, slightly taken aback, and looked at Pei Yutian helplessly.

”What do you have to be proud of, Luo Qianqian? In this kind of class, do you think you will still be the favored child of heaven? Do you think you’re so great because you won awards before?” Sun Xuan looked at Luo Qianqian’s calm demeanor and couldn’t help but become even more infuriated, ”A true hero doesn’t boast about past bravery.”

”Just wait and see.” Luo Qianqian looked over to see Xu Tianyi’s books had already arrived and were messily piled on the desk. She started arranging them one by one, putting them into her desk, calculating how many book covers she needed to buy.

”Luo Qianqian, that Pretty Boy doesn’t even have a body as good as mine, why don’t you follow me instead?” Wang Wei said with a sneer as he looked at Luo Qianqian. Although Luo Qianqian was still young and not particularly outstanding, she had the advantage of clear, pure eyes and skin that was better than that of her classmates who were suffering from acne during puberty.

”Do you know what self-awareness is?” Luo Qianqian sneered, ”Xu Tianyi may not be perfect but he is still Xu Tianyi, and those three words are not for you to tarnish! Your name can only be equated with the filth in the restroom. Having been used to the stars in the night sky, wouldn’t it tarnish my eyes to even look at something like that?”

”Wow, Qianqian, are you confessing your love to Xu Tianyi? Too bad Xu Tianyi isn’t here...” Li Qi entered the classroom and was surprised to hear what Luo Qianqian had just said.

”I’ve been hearing all these rumors for the past few days. If you didn’t show up soon, I’d start to think you’d eloped with Xu Tianyi,” Xia Qi followed Li Qi into the classroom, her face full of smiles.

”Almost, if only I were of age,” Luo Qianqian blinked and joked with her two friends.

”Luo Qianqian, don’t be so smug! What’s there to be proud of in such a class? You’re just an abandoned person!” Wang Wei said viciously as he looked at Luo Qianqian.

”What do you mean by ’such a class’?” Luo Qianqian stood up angrily, ”How is our class any different from the others? Don’t ruin everything because of one bad apple! Who do you think you are? Able to define Class Nine? Class Nine is not worse than the others; it’s just that the fundamentals are a bit weaker. If you look down on Class Nine, please leave Class Nine! I take pride in having classmates like Li Qi, Xia Qi, and Pei Yuhao. Why do you assume you’re truly inferior? After over a month in this school, I understand very well how Class Nine and Class Ten were formed, so what? Who wouldn’t want to do well and make their parents proud if given the chance? Wouldn’t it be better to go home, do something, and earn money rather than giving up on yourself? What’s the point in showing off in the classroom? I know many people in our class come from influential families, and studying is just for show; even with poor grades, you can still get into high school or even university.”

Seeing the classroom fall silent, Luo Qianqian took a deep breath and continued, ”Living in an era of comfort, indulging during the best years of your life, so what will you do when you’re old? Study English from a textbook when you’re elderly? Or when studying abroad, hire a translator and pay one hundred yuan for an Apple worth ten yuan? Is this the life you want? The life I want is one where others can’t deceive me, they respect me, and even when I’m angry, people will still welcome me with a smile, not smiling to my face and cursing me behind my back! If you look down on Class Nine, then go home. With your family’s ability, it would be easy to send you abroad to study. Don’t disgust yourself and affect others by staying here!” She said this while looking at Wang Wei.

”Of course, I’d like to study well if I could...” You Yong sighed deeply.

”Qianqian, you’re so amazing, help us out, will you?” Xia Qi hesitated for a long time before speaking up.

Pei Yuhao, momentarily stunned by the confident girl in front of him, then said, ”Luo Qianqian, I’ve tried studying, but my grades are still the same, would you still be willing to help us?”

Luo Qianqian blinked her eyes, she was really irritated that the people in her class with opportunities were being so choosy, and thinking about her older brother made her feel a little angry, ”I’m just a kid after all, it’s better to ask a teacher, they’d be more than happy to see you do well.”

”Qianqian, how about this,” Li Qi pondered for a moment, ”let’s wait for the monthly exam. If Qianqian ranks in the top five of the entire grade, then she has the right to talk like that, and we will try to study. Those who look down on Class Nine can transfer or switch classes as they please. Our class doesn’t need any bad apples.” As he said this, his gaze landed on Wang Wei.

”Qianqian, I really look up to you, you’re like a Fairy, to be able to say those things,” Pei Yutian spoke up from the back.

Luo Qianqian chuckled, ”In this class, there aren’t many I can look up to. Xu Tianyi is the only one.”
