My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1362: Chapter 1185: Cutting Across with the Sword

”I’m not a despicable person. I’ll take responsibility for what I’ve done, but I also hope I can bring joy to my family.”

Ran Zhihan hasn’t been involved in matters between her father in recent days, nor has she cared about what her husband is doing. She just feels unwell all over, but she is too embarrassed to tell her family, who are already so busy now. If they come to help her with her problems, wouldn’t it be even more awkward, making them more irritable?

She absolutely cannot become a burden to them; otherwise, she would only make them feel that she brings nothing but trouble.

Zhang Yichen seems to have not noticed anything off with his wife. Recently, he’s constantly entangled in the issues between his father and grandfather; he doesn’t want his father to hurt him. He thinks his wife is understanding, considerate, and a generous good woman.

She fundamentally wouldn’t care about these things, but he forgets that every woman hopes to receive love from her husband, even if it’s just a simple greeting; it could lead to a different outcome.

Xia Jing watched her husband and son argue again and again, and she felt conflicted deep inside. Why does everything devolve into this outcome? Is this really what she wanted? She tried so hard to come back to this home, wasn’t it just to make every member of the family happy?

But given the current situation, have they really gained happiness and joy?

Why does it feel as if they are hundreds and thousands of times more miserable than before? Is it all because of her return that things have turned out like this?

If that’s really the case, then why did she come back to this home? Why not leave completely and never set foot here again? Would they be as harmonious and happy as before?

Zhang Zhentian didn’t know his wife’s thoughts were like this deep down. If he had known earlier, he would have persuaded her well. All this originally had nothing to do with them; why blame oneself for these mistakes? Wouldn’t it be better to live happily?

Do we really need to always consider others’ feelings? If one spends their whole life under someone else’s shadow, how can they find happiness? If one lives selfishly and never considers anyone else’s feelings, how wonderful would that be? Always indulged in their own world, only with happiness.

”Zhentian, you should really think about how to explain things to Dad. Stop arguing with your son here. Arguments won’t solve the problem, it’s not the way to solve issues; if you keep arguing, what do you think you two will become? Constant enemies?

You’re father and son, not enemies. Do you really want to end up as enemies for life? Is that what you both would be content with deep down?

One of you is my biological son, the other is my partner. It’s wrong whichever side I help, but I just want to stay here quietly, without being disturbed by any more issues. Have you thought about it?

What impact have your actions brought to the people around you? Everything you’ve pursued over and over has only been about your own desires, but what about you? What do you keep wanting over and over again, and where have you put me? In the depths of your heart, you think everything you do is for the good of the family, but you’ve forgotten that the premise of doing what’s good for the family is hurting your family.

Think carefully, how many people have you hurt with the excuse of doing it for the family’s good, how many times have you hurt your family? Have you never thought about this issue deep inside?

Why always measure others’ deepest thoughts selfishly for one’s own desires, and possibly affect how others see you? What meaning does that have for you?

Ultimately, those hurt are always the ones who care most about you. You’ll never grow up; you always remain indulged in your own world, unable to see the pain and blows others suffer due to your words. Everyone has flesh and blood; no one wants to be repeatedly hurt and remain indifferent, nor does anyone want to be hurt and still smile in the face of harsh words.”

Zhang Yichen was rendered speechless by his mother’s words. Over the years, has he not been aware of how many people he’s hurt using this excuse? He is just too aware to dare to admit it to others, fearing that speaking out would only make things worse. He doesn’t want others to look down on him. He thinks as long as he can deceive himself, it’s enough, and as long as he’s strong inside, he won’t end up like this.

But hearing his mother’s words today, he suddenly realized that everything he’s done over the years is wrong, not one is right. He’s hurt so many, including his grandfather, who always faces him with forced smiles, yet only he understands what’s on his grandfather’s mind. He thought he knew his grandfather well but actually knew nothing. What his grandfather most desires, he never asked, only persistently imposing his own thoughts on them, making her bear all the pain for him.

For him, his grandfather has given up so much, abandoned his own children, his family. All his grandfather wanted was for his grandson to live happily without any pressure, but what has he done?

Ultimately, those he hurt were always the ones who love him most. Those who don’t love him never experience harm from his actions, yet his grandfather suffered many blows, all brought by him. His grandfather never complained about the harm caused to him, instead he loved him repeatedly, giving all his care to him. That love belonged to his father, yet he forcibly took it all away.

Seizing love is not something everyone wants to do, but every decision made comes with a price to pay.
