My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1359: Chapter 1182: Reluctance in the Heart

When the leaves fall to the ground, when the wind scatters everything, when all the reluctance in the heart is completely destroyed, but all of this is too difficult.

Zhang Zhentian really doesn’t know how to talk to his father. Clearly, these things aren’t that serious, but his father chooses to make everything so complicated. If everything could be a bit simpler, wouldn’t it end up like this now? He really doesn’t understand. Why, when it’s such a simple matter, does it lead to disputes time and again? Each argument just causes more serious harm to each other. Why does his father still not understand this principle?

”Big Denture, how many times do you want me to explain it to you? I’ve told you many times, I never meant it that way, but you keep putting all the blame on me. Have you ever thought about how I feel? What do you take me for? Am I truly incapable of being soft-hearted or feeling pain?

I admit that I never considered your feelings when I did everything back then, but was I wrong for doing that? I just hoped that we all could be a bit happier, even if just a little, but you pushed all the blame onto me. You think it’s my return that brought so much trouble to the family, that my presence turned my daughter-in-law into what she is now. You believe everything happened after my arrival, but did you ever think about how much my son yearns for me, as a father, to be by his side? You are his grandfather, how could you not hope for the return of your son as well? Time and again, you force your own thoughts, you won’t let anyone see through your inner thoughts because you’re afraid, afraid of losing me again one day. How would you bear it?

But if you choose to avoid me for this reason, choose to pull me down, then what about me? No matter what I say or do, in your eyes, I’ll never get a good result. Everything I do is in the hope that everyone can live happily, but you’ve never considered how difficult it is for me as a son.

Every single mistake and wrong decision my father made in the past leaves a prejudice in your heart against me, but do you understand? Everything I did was never intentional. I just hope every family member can treat me a little better, see me as part of the family. Is it wrong for me to do this? Why has no one ever stood in my shoes, considered how difficult it was for me at the time?”

”You say you were in a difficult position, but have you ever thought about where every decision you made placed me? I’m your father; I never hold against you anything you’ve said or done to me, because I’m the elder. I have no reason to hold grudges against you, and you are the child I raised. If you’ve become like this, it’s entirely my fault for not teaching better. How can I blame others? Yet time and again, using your so-called goodwill, you hurt the people around you and those I care about most. Do you think your actions are right? Don’t you know that you cannot hurt family willy-nilly? How do you take every family member as your dear ones? You always think your decisions are correct, and you dismiss every word I say. But you can’t do that!

Now your daughter-in-law is still lying in the hospital. Have you ever thought about how tangled your son’s heart is? How much he desires his family to return to him. He constantly regards his family as the most important people, yet what have you done? You repeatedly use family members as tools, treating those who genuinely care about you as people you can casually hurt. Do you think if you continue like this, everyone at home will really consider you as family? What you’re doing only makes everyone more disgusted and resentful of your actions.

My son, can’t you put more thought into your actions and regard family members as more important, be more concerned about everyone’s feelings? We’re not Saints. Yet despite the hurt you’ve caused, we still choose to forgive you, just hoping you can be at ease. But what about you? How have you acted? You’ve repeatedly taken family members as your target of hurt, used them thoroughly, and discarded them repeatedly without a thought. Are your actions worthy of the care every family member has given you?”

Xia Jing didn’t expect that father and son would argue again over this matter. Could it really be because of her appearance that everything turned out like this? If she could really become different from before, if she could really stay in this family forever, even with her eyes closed she’d wake up smiling. But is the current result truly what she wants? Her husband and her father-in-law argue time and again, and she can only watch silently at the side, powerless. How failed she feels, who can understand her failed emotions at this moment?

For herself, she asks for nothing now, only that her family stops arguing over these matters, which makes her so embarrassed. Who is she doing all this for, if not to stay safely in this family? Why then does all the pain have to burden her? She just wants them to get along in peace; why is it so hard? Did every decision she made go wrong again?

”Zhentian, can’t you speak to your father in a softer tone? Why do you always have to shout loudly here? Do you think you’re right just because you shout? Why don’t you consider whether your decisions put your father in an awkward position? The way you’re speaking now, it’s as if you don’t regard your father at all. Can we stop arguing, alright? Coming back to this family, isn’t it to live in peace?”

”You’re overthinking it, it’s not that serious!”

Zhang Yichen hid in his room, praying to heaven for his wife’s safe return, but how difficult it is.
