The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 439: Chapter 438: Visiting

Mo Ping knew that once these prescriptions were spread, the factory would suffer even greater losses in the future. There was not much else he could do, but he could at least do his part.

”Boss, from now on, I won’t take any salary or bonuses.” After all, he lived and ate at the factory, and there was nowhere else he needed to spend money.

Upon hearing this, Yiyi glanced at him and said, ”You don’t have to do this. I also hold responsibility for this matter. Ever since I came to Shangjing, the factory has been under my watch, yet I didn’t notice Lei Xu’s actions. So how could I let you bear the consequences alone?”

But Mo Ping had made up his mind and shook his head, saying, ”Boss, I’ve decided. You really don’t need to pay me, besides, ever since I started working at the factory, I’ve saved up all my salary, which is enough for my living expenses, so you don’t have to worry about me running out of money.”

Seeing Mo Ping’s determined demeanor, Yiyi couldn’t help but frown and tried to persuade him a few times.

Yet Mo Ping was adamant about not accepting any salary.

Seeing this, Yiyi raised her eyebrows but didn’t say much more. However, she certainly wouldn’t keep his salary. Even if he didn’t want it, he had to take it.

”Alright, I’ll leave the matters of the factory in your hands. I’m heading back to school now.”

Upon hearing this, Mo Ping nodded and said, ”Boss, rest assured and go back to your studies. In the future, I’ll strengthen management at the factory, and such incidents as Lei Xu’s won’t happen again.”

After Yiyi returned to school, Tao Cuizhu seized the opportunity to ask her, ”Yiyi, is everything settled?”

Seeing Tao Cuizhu’s concerned look, Yiyi smiled and nodded, ”Rest assured, everything is resolved. Lei Xu has received his deserved punishment and will be spending the next nine years in prison.”

Yiyi didn’t hide anything from Tao Cuizhu, who had noticed Lei Xu’s suspicious behavior, and recounted the whole story.

When Tao Cuizhu learned that Lei Xu had sold several prescriptions to pay off a ten thousand dollar gambling debt, she was so shocked that her mouth hung open. ”How... how could he gamble so recklessly and lose so much? Didn’t he ever think about his family?”

Hearing this, Yiyi couldn’t help but shake her head.

After Lei Xu was caught, his family naturally learned about his actions, and his wife even brought their child to the factory to plead for leniency. However, Lei Xu’s behavior couldn’t be tolerated, so she hardened her heart and disregarded them.

Later, it was heard that Lei Xu’s wife took their child and returned to her parents’ home.

Thinking of the mother and child left alone, Yiyi ultimately decided to help them by secretly arranging a job for Lei Xu’s wife so she could earn a living and support her child. This would allow them to lead a better life in the future.

Upon hearing about this, Tao Cuizhu smiled and patted Yiyi’s shoulder, saying, ”Yiyi, you did the right thing. Lei Xu made the mistake, not his wife and child. You’ve ensured their future, and that’s truly commendable.”

Yiyi couldn’t help but smile upon hearing this, then said to Tao Cuizhu, ”Alright, dorm leader, let’s hurry to class, or the teacher might call roll.”

Upon hearing this, Tao Cuizhu nodded with a smile and headed to the classroom with Yiyi.

Now, it was the crisp and clear season of autumn, and Yiyi and her companions had been in classes for a week already. September passed in the blink of an eye, ushering in October.

After the National Day celebrations, Yiyi and her friends anticipated the upcoming holidays.

”Yiyi, we’re heading straight to the factory tonight. Will you come during these few days of rest?”

Tao Cuizhu and Cao Panpan were already packing up. They had several days off and intended to stay at the factory.

Seeing their eagerness, Yiyi couldn’t help but laugh and said, ”You all are indeed diligent. Every break, you head to work at the factory. With employees like you, I’m truly overjoyed.”

Hearing this, Tao Cuizhu and the others glanced at her jokingly, saying, ”We’re all working hard for you, while you as the boss are the one slacking off every other day.”

”Alright, alright, don’t worry, I’ll also head there during these days.”

Hearing this, the group laughed.

Once Tao Cuizhu and the others finished packing and set off, Yiyi also headed straight home.

When Ding Yuejun saw her daughter return, she smiled and inquired about her recent activities, then suggested, ”Your godmother is due to give birth in a little over half a month. How about we visit her tomorrow?”

Yiyi quickly nodded, realizing it had indeed been quite a while since she last saw Song Xiaoqing.

After making plans, the mother-daughter duo went to the Song Family the next day.

Song Xiaoqing was delighted to see them. ”Yue Jun, Yiyi, why did you come over today without giving me a heads-up? I could have prepared more.”

Ding Yuejun quickly responded, ”There’s no need to prepare anything. We’re all so familiar. Please don’t be formal with us.”

Song Xiaoqing laughed and said, ”Of course, I won’t be formal with you.” She promptly invited the two to sit down.

Song Xiaoqing had gained a lot of weight and her complexion was quite dull, but the genuine smile on her face showed she was truly happy.

Once Yiyi and her mother were seated, she slowly sat down, supporting herself with the table.

Seeing this, Ding Yuejun spoke quickly, ”Xiaoqing, feel free to lie down on the side. We can chat with you while sitting.”

”No need, no need, I’ve been lying down so much lately, I feel like I’m rusting. Besides, the doctor said it’s good to stay active before giving birth.”

”That’s good, as long as you don’t feel tired.”

Ding Yuejun smiled and said, then asked about her recent condition.

”Everything’s fine. I’m eating and sleeping well, so there’s no need to worry. Moreover, Old Song has been taking care of me constantly. He even doesn’t want to work, preferring to stay by my side all day. I’m quite helpless seeing him like that.”

Upon hearing this, Ding Yuejun teased, ”You’re actually showing off the intimacy between you two, aren’t you? It’s really enviable.”

Song Xiaoqing quickly waved her hand, ”I didn’t mean it that way; I’m really a bit fed up with his fussing lately.”

Yiyi listened and couldn’t stop laughing, feeling happy for their strong bond.

As they chatted, Old Mrs. Song sent someone over with some food.

Seeing her mother-in-law sent over some snacks, Song Xiaoqing urged Ding Yuejun and Yiyi to try them, ”Recently, the old lady hired a very skilled chef, and his snacks are excellent, have a taste.”

Yiyi and Ding Yuejun smiled and picked up a piece of coconut milk cake.

”Mmm... it’s delicious.”

Ding Yuejun nodded and complimented, ”Sweet but not greasy, and very chewy.”

Yiyi also found the coconut milk cake tasty but soon noticed something seemed off with Song Xiaoqing, ”Godmother, what’s wrong?”
