The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 405: Chapter 404: Just Like You

Seeing Ding Yuejun not speaking, An Xueqing continued, ”Aunt Ding, please, as a classmate of Yiyi from the dormitory, help me out. Our crew is shooting a long drama this time, and I’m playing the second female lead. It’s the biggest role I’ve gotten so far, but I heard from our director that you’re pretty busy lately and can’t book costumes. So I volunteered to come to discuss it with you.”

”Although you’re Yiyi’s classmate, other orders are also urgent, and the delivery dates have already been set. If I don’t deliver the costumes as agreed, I’d have to pay a penalty for breach of contract, so I’m really sorry.”

Ding Yuejun explained the situation once again, hoping An Xueqing could understand her plight.

Moreover, if she makes an exception this time, others might also come asking her to bend the rules in the future, so she couldn’t open this door.

Hearing Ding Yuejun refuse again, An Xueqing couldn’t help but grit her teeth, finally forcing a smile and saying, ”Aunt Ding, I know your difficulties, but can you really not take my order? I won’t ask for much, just the costumes for the male and female leads.”

”It’s really not possible.”

Ding Yuejun didn’t compromise.

The factory has been working overtime recently, even the previous orders aren’t completed. She certainly couldn’t take on An Xueqing’s order.

Looking at the time, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but say, ”I have things to do, I need to go now.”

Hearing Ding Yuejun clearly rushing her away, An Xueqing’s expression turned dark. Even the forced smile couldn’t be maintained. She finally stood up slowly and said, ”Aunt Ding, since you’re busy, I’ll leave first.”

Watching An Xueqing leave, Ding Yuejun hurriedly headed home, wondering if her daughter had arrived yet.

On the other hand, An Xueqing left Ding Yuejun’s costume shop with a gloomy face. Just as she was about to catch a bus, a luxuriously dressed woman suddenly appeared before her.

”You are...?”

She was certain she didn’t know the woman in front of her, but when she saw the woman’s attire, her attitude naturally softened a lot, even bringing a faint smile to her face.

The woman looked at the girl before her, smiling as she said, ”You’re An Xueqing, right? I heard you volunteered to help the crew by coming to see Ding Yuejun to book costumes. I wonder if she took your order or not.”

Hearing this, An Xueqing warily glanced at the woman and asked, ”How do you know about this?”

Only the director knew about her coming to book costumes from Ding Yuejun; the others in the crew weren’t aware. How did this woman know?

Seeing An Xueqing’s wary look, the woman couldn’t help but laugh.

”It must not have worked, otherwise you wouldn’t have come out with such a dark expression.”

Hearing this, An Xueqing still remained silent, not speaking.

”As far as I know, you’re in the same dormitory as Ding Yiyi, right? I didn’t expect that even with such a connection, Ding Yuejun wouldn’t give you a convenience. It’s really disheartening.”

Hearing the woman in front of her reveal so much about her, An Xueqing felt surprised, followed by worry, wondering who this woman was and what she wanted from her.

Seeing An Xueqing’s guarded look, the woman smiled and said, ”Don’t worry, I, like you, have grievances with Ding Yuejun. Last time I ordered clothes from her, it ended unpleasantly. Seeing you having the same experience, I immediately felt we were in the same boat.”

Hearing this, An Xueqing relaxed a bit.

Then the woman spoke many more words, closing the distance considerably with An Xueqing, eventually inviting her for a cup of tea.

At this moment, Ding Yuejun had no idea that someone held a grudge against her. She hurried home, and upon seeing her daughter already sitting there, she quickly asked, ”Yiyi, when did you arrive?”

”Mom, you’re back! I just got here not long ago.”

Old Master Ding, upon seeing Ding Yuejun return, asked, ”Why are you back so late? Didn’t you say you’d be back after a short trip this morning?”

”Dad, something came up and delayed me, so I’m a bit late.”

Old Master Ding waved his hand and said, ”It’s fine, since you’re back, we can have dinner now.”

After the family finished eating, Yiyi and Ding Yuejun went back to their small courtyard.

”Yiyi, your classmate came to me for costumes today.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi was a little stunned, then she realized, ”Was it An Xueqing?” These days, the only classmate who would come to her mother for costumes would be An Xueqing.

Ding Yuejun nodded and said, ”Yes, it was her. This time she’s playing the second female lead in a drama. I had previously refused their director, but she managed to take the job. However, the factory is too busy lately, I can’t even finish the other crews’ costumes, let alone let her jump the line. Besides, she previously schemed to make your classmate Feng Yudan refuse the crew’s invitation just to act herself. Just for this, I don’t really like her.”

Yiyi nodded in agreement, saying, ”Yes, I don’t quite like her either. Besides, you mustn’t open this door, or many others will come jumping the line.”

”I also have this concern, so I didn’t agree. But I’m worried she might hold it against us.”

Yiyi said indifferently, ”She’s already taken a leave of absence, so even if she holds something against me, it doesn’t matter. We probably won’t run into her again in the future.”

Hearing this from her daughter, Ding Yuejun didn’t dwell on it further and instead asked about other things, ”Did you have fun this time?”

”Yes, I had a lot of fun. Zhirong arranged everything well. Next time, I’ll invite them over to our house.”

Ding Yuejun nodded busily, saying, ”Great, you girls can have a good chat then.”

Yiyi had the same thought.

”Alright, you should rest now. Going out must have been tiring.”

”Okay.”

After her mother left, Yiyi went to sleep.

After leaving her daughter’s room, Ding Yuejun also returned to her own room. However, she didn’t rest; instead, she took out some paper and began drawing design drafts. She was truly busy lately, with many clothes needing her personal design. Recently, due to an issue with a type of fabric, one batch of costumes still hadn’t been produced. So she had to make another trip in the afternoon.

Having finished the last stroke, Ding Yuejun packed up the drawings and went out.

Today she needed to go to a fabric store on South City, to solve this fabric issue. She had inquired for a long time to find this store and heard all the fabrics inside were hand-woven.

”Driver, stop up ahead; I’m there.”

Checking the address, Ding Yuejun got off there and slowly walked to the fabric store.
