The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 438: Chapter 437: The Outcome

Yiyi decided to go together that night, and started preparing, determined to handle everything in one go.

”Young boss, you must be careful yourself.”

Hearing this, Yiyi nodded and said, ”Don’t worry, I will take care of myself.”

Besides, Yun Chu has always been protecting her in secret, but she didn’t mention this. The Hidden Guard protects from the shadows to achieve surprise; if others knew in advance, it would lose its meaning.

Once preparations were almost complete, Yiyi waited quietly until Lei Xu left the pharmaceutical factory, and then she quietly followed him.

Lei Xu seemed to be very familiar with the place, showing no signs of guilt as he calmly arrived at a rather remote noodle shop. There, two people were sitting sparsely, and he walked straight over to sit beside a middle-aged man.

Initially, the two did not communicate, each eating their noodles, and just when they were about to finish, Lei Xu glanced at the middle-aged man and quickly handed him an envelope.

The middle-aged man was not slow either, quickly taking the envelope, lowering his head under cover of the table, and examining carefully. After he finished looking, he also swiftly handed an envelope to Lei Xu.

However, just as Lei Xu was about to catch the envelope, a man rushed over, intercepting it; and before the middle-aged man could react, he also took back the envelope Lei Xu had given him.

”What are you doing, stealing things?”

The middle-aged man also stood up, excitedly saying, ”Give it back to me now, or I’ll call the police. Stealing things will get you arrested and jailed.”

The noodle shop owner and another customer were watching the commotion, persuading from the side, ”Young man, stealing things is indeed wrong. What did you take from them? Return it quickly.”

At this moment, Yiyi walked in slowly, with a slight smile on her face, and said to the noodle shop owner, ”Don’t worry, boss. Nothing was stolen; those two envelopes are both mine, and I asked this young man to retrieve them for me.”

Upon hearing this, neither the noodle shop owner nor the other person said anything further.

When Lei Xu saw Yiyi coming, his face turned somewhat pale, and he forced a smile more miserable than crying, saying, ”Young boss, why... why are you here?”

As soon as Lei Xu finished speaking, the middle-aged man beside him turned to run, but he hadn’t gone two steps before another young man rushed over, subduing him to the ground.

”Let go of me, what are you doing? I didn’t steal your stuff, that envelope contained money, it’s my money. I even know there’s a small character on the first banknote, so you have no right to catch me.”

Hearing this, Yiyi took the two envelopes, opened the one packed with money, counted it, and then sneered, ”A thousand bucks to buy our pharmaceutical factory’s newly developed formula, well, that’s a great plan.”

Finally, Yiyi turned to Lei Xu and said sternly, ”You really are something, selling the pharmaceutical factory’s formula for money. Do you know that what you did is illegal?”

”No... Young boss, I didn’t, I didn’t sell the pharmaceutical factory’s formula.”

Lei Xu shook his head vigorously, refusing to admit.

Yiyi didn’t spare him another glance, directly opened the envelope, saw the formula inside, and instructed the young man, ”Take these two to the police station immediately.”

”Young boss...”

Hearing this, Lei Xu uttered in terror, then said in a flustered voice, ”Young boss, that formula wasn’t stolen by me. It was... It was Director Mo who gave it to me, so I’m not the one breaking the law, he is.”

Hearing this, Yiyi was almost amused with anger, not bothering with Lei Xu anymore, she directly had him taken to the police station, and naturally, the middle-aged man who bought the formula was also taken in.

Upon learning the news, Mo Ping rushed to the police station; upon seeing Yiyi, he asked, ”Young boss, how did things go?”

”Lei Xu was caught red-handed during the deal, but...”

Finally, Yiyi glanced at Mo Ping and said, ”He insists that you orchestrated this, that you secretly sold the pharmaceutical factory’s formulas for your own gain.”

Hearing Yiyi’s words, Mo Ping gritted his teeth and said, ”Is that really what he said?”

”Could I lie to you? There were others present at the time; you can ask them.”

Mo Ping naturally knew Yiyi wouldn’t lie to him, but he still couldn’t believe Lei Xu could be so deceitful and malicious, even blaming him after being caught. Didn’t his conscience hurt? He had always treated Lei Xu quite well, but this was how he was repaid.

Thinking of it, Mo Ping felt a chill in his heart.

Seeing Mo Ping’s distressed state, Yiyi said, ”Alright, I naturally trust you. I’ll let you handle the rest, I’m heading back now. Furthermore... any formulas sold by Lei Xu must be retrieved, and those people have to compensate for all our losses. As for Lei Xu... if he dared to do such a thing, he must face the consequences and be sentenced according to the law.”

”Young boss, I understand.”

Mo Ping nodded, a fierce look in his eyes.

After Yiyi finished explaining, she went back. When Mo Ping delivered further information, she learned about the outcome.

Lei Xu, accused of stealing and selling formulas, faced a large amount involved and was sentenced to nine years. As for the middle-aged man who bought the formula, he belonged to a pharmacy on another street. Though a buyer, he didn’t commit much wrong and was only fined a bit. The formulas previously sold by Lei Xu were all recovered with police cooperation.

Those buyers, aware they were purchasing stolen goods, were also fined slightly.

Yet Yiyi knew that even if the formulas were retrieved, they were of no use. Those who had seen the formulas probably memorized them; even if they were asked not to produce the medicine pills, they could do so with slight modifications.

Mo Ping felt deeply remorseful.

”Young boss, it’s due to my poor management that such an incident occurred under my watch, causing severe losses to our pharmaceutical factory.”

Hearing this, Yiyi sighed and said, ”You can’t be entirely blamed, but indeed, you should be more careful in the future. The formulas are critically important and must not have any mishaps.” It wasn’t due to Mo Ping that Lei Xu acquired the formula; he had connections with other people in the factory, allowing him to exploit a loophole to get it.

”Yes, I’ll be more vigilant.”

He also secretly resolved in his heart to take responsibility for this incident.
