Super Rich by Doing as You Please

The hotel had arranged for an Alphard van.

As the van drove through the ’cramped’ island city, Xu Yun began to understand how a place with several million permanent residents didn’t suffer from constant traffic jams.

They made effective use of every available inch of space, even building underwater tunnels.

Accompanied by his private butler, Xu Yun arrived at Victoria Harbor Pier.

Following her directions, he took the invitation and walked up to a yacht moored at the pier.

The yacht was surprisingly large.

’It seems this is a little different from what I’d imagined. This won’t be a straightforward orgy, then!’

’Then again, trying to have an orgy in the middle of Victoria Harbor would be too chaotic, with all the other boats passing by. If you were going to do it, you’d take a yacht far from the crowds, out into the open sea.’

Still, from what Yu Jiaming had said, this was just a case of old wine in a new bottle—the same thing, just a bit more discreet.

Though billed as a party, it was really just an audition for the rich young heirs.

After all, most of the women attending were pretty starlets, print models, and so-called ”socialites.”

Whether they got the chance to take a woman back to their hotel after the party was over depended entirely on their own game.

After escorting Xu Yun to the boarding gate, the private butler said, ”Mr. Xu, I hope you have a wonderful night out on Victoria Harbor! Our hotel car will wait here for you until 11:30 PM to take you back.”

”Alright, thank you,” Xu Yun said, then boarded the yacht by himself.

Attendants stationed on either side of the gangway carefully inspected his invitation before bowing slightly and letting him pass, a clear sign of respect.

Every man who came here was either rich or powerful—people they couldn’t possibly afford to offend.

’They’re being pretty strict with these checks,’ Xu Yun thought. ’Anyone who didn’t know better would think this was some top-secret meeting.’

Still, he understood the reasoning.

They were likely afraid of crashers leaking details about the party.

What Xu Yun didn’t know was that all female guests were required to surrender their phones and were barred from bringing any cameras or recording devices on board.

This was an unspoken rule for nearly every private party hosted by an exclusive club.

After all, the attendees were all prominent figures who were extremely protective of their privacy.

Rich people might live decadently, but that didn’t mean they had no sense of shame.

Meanwhile, some brainless women loved to post on social media for no reason other than to flex.

Of course, this rule was aimed at the women without status, who were there to fish for money or get lucky. Those with real backing and social standing wouldn’t be treated this way.

Besides, they already knew what was appropriate to post and what wasn’t.

This was why there was so little information online about the private parties and activities of the wealthy; details almost never leaked.

It wasn’t that they didn’t party; they just did it discreetly.

Besides, even though Xiangjiang had long since returned to the mainland, some of its old ways persisted.

The parties would go on, and the races would still be run.

Which is why the city was still full of private clubs.

To put it bluntly, Xiangjiang’s private club scene was a tangible manifestation of social strata and personal networks.

If you wanted to get something done, if you needed support or resources, you had to get into these private clubs, meet the people inside, and build relationships with them.

Or even become their friend.

And getting into these clubs usually required a membership fee, ranging from tens of thousands to several million.

For instance, the top floor of the K11 mall he’d visited earlier housed a private club. He’d heard it was founded by the owner of K11, and to become a member, one had to spend over a million in the mall annually.

Not that it mattered.

Once you were in, a single word from the right person or one business opportunity could let you earn back your membership fee dozens of times over.

After all, business was business, so why not do it with someone from your own club?

The thinking was, ’I help him today, and maybe he can help me tomorrow.’

Humans are social animals. It was always easier to advance by sticking together than by going it alone.

The party on the yacht this time was hosted by the private club of the Rosewood Hotel’s owner.

He had invited members of his club, along with some VIP guests who were currently in Xiangjiang and staying long-term at his hotel.

The only reason Xu Yun had been invited was because he met their so-called ”VIP standard.”

After all, he had prepaid one million for his room fees at the Rosewood Hotel in a single transaction.

And he had paid with a black card—a symbol of wealth and status.

Otherwise, a typical guest staying in the Regent Suite for a one-time visit would never have been qualified to attend.

Xu Yun hadn’t arrived particularly early. After boarding, a waiter led him to the top deck.

The party hadn’t officially started, but the deck was already crowded, mostly with young men and women.

They all had one thing in common: the men were rich, and the women were sexy.

An array of drinks, snacks, and other amenities were laid out, more than enough for the dozens of people present.

As a newcomer, Xu Yun naturally didn’t know a soul.

Not that he wanted to get to know anyone. He was just here to see what ”activities” the evening had in store.

If he found a woman—or two—who caught his eye, taking them back with him would be the ideal outcome.

’Speaking of which, could I actually take two?’

Xu Yun mused. ’If that actually worked, I might set a new personal record!’

It was a nice thought, but he’d have to see how things played out.

A short while later, at 8 PM sharp, the yacht departed from the pier and began its cruise around Victoria Harbor.
