Super Rich by Doing as You Please

The saleswoman smiled and explained, ”However, for styles that arrive early for our internal pre-sale, our store requires customers to be VIC members to get priority access.”

”In that case, you can look up my membership.”

Xu Yun gave her his phone number and ID number. After jotting them down, she immediately went to the counter to verify his information.

When she looked at the information that came up...

Not only was he a VIC customer, but he was also flagged by the corporation as a high-potential VIC member with the chance of becoming a global VVIP.

’Even though they’re all VICs, there are still different tiers!’

Clearly, Xu Yun had very high potential for advancement.

Upon seeing Xu Yun’s details, the saleswoman immediately reported the situation to her store manager.

According to store policy, all VIC customers had to be personally attended to by the manager.

As soon as the manager was informed, she took over the matter and followed the saleswoman back to Xu Yun.

Her demeanor was even more deferential. ”Mr. Xu, welcome to our K11 location. I’m the store manager, and it would be my honor to assist you.”

”So, am I now qualified to see the clothes you mentioned?”

”Yes, of course.”

The manager gave a slight bow. ”Mr. Xu, please come with me. We have a private selection room prepared especially for our VIC clients.”

”Alright.”

This wasn’t the first time Xu Yun had gone through this routine; he was quite familiar with it.

Some of the other female customers in the store watched with envious eyes as Xu Yun was led toward the area reserved for higher-tier members.

’I wonder which family’s young master is out shopping now.’

Here in Xiangjiang, it was customary to call the scions of wealthy families ”young masters.”

The stores here weren’t as large as their Mainland counterparts.

A moment later, Xu Yun was in a large, private room, which he had all to himself. He sipped the coffee the staff had prepared for him.

Racks of new-season clothes, pants, glasses, and hats—items not available on the main floor—were wheeled before him by a team of saleswomen for his private selection.

”Mr. Xu.”

The manager smiled. ”All of our latest summer styles are right here. Each piece is one-of-a-kind; we don’t carry duplicates. Have any of them caught your eye?”

”They all look about the same to me.”

Xu Yun said nonchalantly, ”Let the saleswoman from earlier pick for me. I get overwhelmed by choices. I trust her eye.”

”Of course, Mr. Xu.”

The manager agreed, then turned to the saleswoman in question. ”Go ahead and help Mr. Xu choose an outfit.”

”Yes, Manager.”

The saleswoman was a little surprised but also secretly pleased that he had specifically asked for her to style him.

After all, it was a matter of commission.

’This Mr. Xu isn’t just handsome, he’s incredibly nice, too!’

After he tried on a few outfits, the saleswoman finally put together an ensemble that perfectly suited his aura. Even she was stunned by the result.

Xu Yun stood before the mirror and was also very pleased with the outfit. It gave him the roguishly handsome air of a wealthy young master.

’Sigh, it’s true. The richer you get, the more charisma you have, and it gives you this inexplicable sense of confidence!’

He was still the same person on the outside, but after being nourished by wealth, his spirit was no longer the same.

”Alright, I’ll take this. You can ring it up.”

Xu Yun pulled out his black card and handed it to the manager, who was already waiting with a POS terminal.

The manager wasn’t the least bit fazed by the black card. Instead, she smiled and said, ”Mr. Xu, we process transactions in Hong Kong Dollars, so when we charge your card, the system will automatically handle the currency conversion. As a result, there will be a small processing fee.”

”Alright, I understand.”

After the card was charged, Xu Yun’s total came to 230,000.

The most expensive item was the black t-shirt he was wearing, priced at 160,000, because the chest graphic was made entirely of pavé diamonds.

The manager also made a point to remind him that the shirt absolutely could not be machine-washed; it had to be brought back to the boutique for professional cleaning.

Every diamond chip that fell off was money down the drain!

In addition to the outfit he was wearing, he also casually grabbed two more short-sleeved t-shirts to wear over the next couple of days. They weren’t expensive—only around 10,000 to 20,000 dollars each.

The clothes he had changed out of weren’t cheap either; they were a limited-edition set from Gucci.

As he was leaving, the manager had the clothes bagged and tried to hand them to him, but Xu Yun refused. ”I don’t want them. You can just dispose of them for me.”

With that, he walked straight out of the store.

The manager and the sales associate were left speechless.

’Clothes worth tens of thousands of dollars, and he just tosses them aside. How capricious!’

Just because you sell luxury clothes doesn’t mean you can afford to wear them, just as someone who sells mansions can’t necessarily afford to buy one.

So when Xu Yun told them to dispose of a perfectly good, nearly new outfit, an idea sparked in the saleswoman’s mind.

’She could secretly take it home for her boyfriend to wear!’

’If he asked, she’d just say she bought it on sale.’

”Do with it what you will.”

The manager noticed her employee’s little scheme but didn’t call her out on it. Instead, she quickly caught up to Xu Yun to courteously see him out.

Xu Yun was quite satisfied with their service and attention to detail from start to finish. Their professionalism was a cut above what he was used to on the Mainland!

The transformation was remarkable. Xu Yun’s entire aura had changed, becoming much more striking and no longer as understated as before.

As he walked out, the young women nearby were stunned when they saw him, mistaking him for some male celebrity.

They all had hearts in their eyes.

Who says only men enjoy looking at beautiful women on the street? Women are just the same—they love looking at handsome men!

Especially a ridiculously rich and handsome one.

Nearby, two beautiful women who were shopping watched Xu Yun walk past. Their eyes lit up as one of them whispered, ”Wanqing, look! What a handsome young master!”

The woman named Wanqing watched Xu Yun brush past her, feeling as though she had seen him somewhere before.

She smiled at her friend. ”No matter how handsome he is, you don’t stand a chance. Just give up on your dream of marrying into a wealthy family.”

”Who says?”

The woman said smugly, ”Don’t we have a chance at the party tonight? What if I meet my Prince Charming there?”

”Well then, I hope your dream comes true!”

”Me too!”

It turned out that both of them were print models, though not very famous.

Somehow, her friend had managed to get her hands on two tickets to a private party on a cruise ship.

They heard that many of the guests tonight would be young masters from entertainment companies, as well as a number of celebrities.

If they could catch someone’s eye at the party, or seize the opportunity to meet one or two of these young masters and gain the support of their connections, it would be a huge boost for their careers.

That was why they were here, steeling themselves to splurge on some nice outfits to wear to the party tonight!

After buying his clothes, Xu Yun returned to the hotel and immediately crashed for a nap.

Shopping all afternoon had been exhausting.

He ended up sleeping straight through until evening.

When he woke up, Xu Yun turned to look out the floor-to-ceiling windows. The view of Victoria Harbor at sunset was a completely different, yet equally breathtaking, sight.

While he was lost in thought, he received a call from Yu Jiaming.

”Hello, President Xu.”

Yu Jiaming said, ”There’s a cruise party tonight, as it happens. It starts at 8 p.m. I expect your personal butler will be bringing you an invitation shortly.”

Xu Yun asked, ”How much did it cost? I’ll transfer the money to you.”

”Um, it was free.”

Yu Jiaming explained awkwardly, ”The party is being hosted by the hotel’s owner. So, as one of the hotel’s most honored guests, President Xu, you’re welcome to attend.”

’He desperately wanted to go along and get a glimpse of high society, but unfortunately, his room tier didn’t grant him access to such a private gathering.’

”Alright, I understand.”

Just a few minutes after Xu Yun hung up, his doorbell rang. When he opened it, his personal butler stepped inside and respectfully handed him an invitation card.

”Hello, Mr. Xu.”

The female personal butler placed an invitation in his hand and said earnestly, ”On behalf of our hotel’s owner, I would like to formally invite you to a party on a cruise ship in Victoria Harbor at eight o’clock tonight. It will be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the beautiful night view of the harbor.

We have a car arranged downstairs, ready to take you there whenever you wish.”

”Alright.”

Xu Yun glanced at the time. It was getting close. ”Let’s head over now.”

「The room next door.」

Lin Wanzhou had also received an invitation to the party.

However, since Xu Yun didn’t need him to go, he declined the invitation.

Alone, he took out his phone, snapped a photo of the view of Victoria Harbor, and sent it to a certain woman, sharing the beautiful scenery before him.

Some words are hard to say out loud, but they can still be expressed in other ways.

After all, the desire to share one’s world is, in itself, an expression of affection.

A moment later, she replied with a picture of her own: the sunset from wherever she was.
