Super Rich by Doing as You Please

At the same time that Xiaoyun was planning to resign, Xu Yun’s phone began to ring in the hotel’s presidential suite.

The friend the bartender had introduced last night had arrived at the hotel.

Xu Yun told him to wait for half an hour before coming to his room to meet.

The man nodded eagerly in agreement.

’There was nothing to be done about it. The guy with the money is king!’

’Since he was the one trying to earn the money, it was only natural for him, the service provider, to adopt a humbler attitude.’

’There’s no shame in that.’

Meanwhile, Xu Yun got out of bed and freshened up. He walked into the living room, but when he didn’t see Lin Wanzhou, he gave him a call to see where he was.

Turns out, he had gone to the gym for another early morning workout.

Xu Yun couldn’t help but tease him. ”Old Lin, are the women in yoga pants at the gym really that nice to look at?”

”???” Lin Wanzhou replied.

”Alright, I’m just kidding. That’s all for now. I’m going to get my own workout in.”

After hanging up, Xu Yun went out onto the balcony and skillfully performed a set of the Eight Pieces of Brocade to restore his energy.

’If I don’t take care of myself and cherish my body, what am I going to do later in life if I find my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak?’

Just as he finished the set of Eight Pieces of Brocade, the doorbell rang.

Xu Yun opened the door to find a man in his thirties wearing a Rolex and casual clothes. The man introduced himself with an ingratiating smile, ”President Xu, good morning. My name is Yu Jiaming. I’m a friend of Xiaoai’s. I’m the one who just called you.”

”Hello.”

Xu Yun looked at him and asked with a smile, ”You’re here quite early today, aren’t you?”

”I was afraid you might be in a hurry, and I didn’t know when you’d be waking up, so I decided to come a bit early.”

”Have you had breakfast then?”

Xu Yun stepped out and closed the door. ”If you haven’t, come have a bite with me. We can talk about the trip while we eat.”

”Okay.”

Yu Jiaming nodded and followed behind him.

As a watch enthusiast, the first thing he noticed was Xu Yun’s Patek Philippe. All of a sudden, the Rolex on his own wrist didn’t seem so impressive anymore.

’That one watch was worth dozens of his own!’

Over breakfast, Yu Jiaming ran through a list of his ”strong suits,” the main point of which was to establish his credentials as a ”Xiangjiang expert.”

Xu Yun didn’t know if he was truly that capable, but at the very least, his pitch was convincing.

That in itself was a skill.

Next, they discussed payment for his services.

After some hesitation, Yu Jiaming quoted a price of 5,000 yuan a day, to be paid at the end of each day. He also stipulated that he would not cover any expenses in Xiangjiang—Xu Yun would be paying for everything himself.

He was only responsible for picking the destinations!

Xu Yun agreed immediately, without any hesitation.

Seeing how readily Xu Yun agreed, he felt a pang of regret for not asking for more.

”President Xu, when do you think we should go to Xiangjiang?”

Yu Jiaming said, ”Once we set a time, I can arrange the specific itinerary.”

”Anytime today is fine.”

As he spoke, Xu Yun suddenly saw a helicopter fly past the window. ”Is that helicopter flying a bit low?” he asked curiously.

”President Xu, that’s one of Shenzhen’s air taxis.”

Yu Jiaming explained, ”If you want to, or if you’re in a hurry, you can just scan a QR code on your phone to book a ride. You can basically ’hail an air taxi’ to get to work.”

”...”

He remembered how over a month ago, right after he’d gotten the System, he had fantasized about whether an app for hailing planes existed.

’Who would’ve thought they actually existed here!’

’I have to experience this for myself.’

Xu Yun asked, ”Are there any routes that fly directly to Xiangjiang?”

”Currently, there are no public flights available on the app. It only operates within the Shenzhen city area.”

Yu Jiaming answered, ”However, private routes do exist. Because they’re quite expensive, they’re an exclusive form of air travel reserved for the tycoons.

”The flight over usually takes about fifteen minutes. A lot of tycoons enjoy flying over in the morning for some Hong-Kong-style dim sum before heading back to work.”

”How many people can it take in one trip?”

”Probably four or five people.”

Yu Jiaming said awkwardly, ”I’ve never taken one myself, so I’m not too sure.”

”Can you get in touch with them?”

Xu Yun said, ”We’ll take one of those to Xiangjiang today!”

”That’s a bit difficult.”

After saying that, he saw Xu Yun’s brow furrow and immediately changed his tune. ”But don’t you worry, President Xu. I’ll figure out a way to sort it out for you.”

”Fine. You handle it. Money is not an issue.”

Xu Yun added, ”Call me when you’ve got it arranged. I’m heading back to my room.”

”Of course, President Xu. Take care.”

After Xu Yun left, Yu Jiaming immediately started leveraging his ”network,” making one phone call after another.

If he couldn’t get this done today, he could forget about the 5,000 yuan a day—he’d be out of a job right then and there.

After dozens of phone calls, he finally managed to book an available EC135 helicopter.

It was from a private company, no less.

But because it was a last-minute charter, the price they quoted was a bit steep: around 350,000 yuan!

If this were for an ordinary person, he wouldn’t even have brought up such a high price. Only a fool would agree to it.

But President Xu was staying in the presidential suite; he was no ordinary person!

Uncertain, Yu Jiaming decided to call Xu Yun.

’After all, he was only responsible for making the arrangements; Xu Yun was the one who had to pay for it!’

When Xu Yun heard the price from Yu Jiaming, he agreed without hesitation, telling him to book it and arrange for them to leave immediately.

...

Yu Jiaming was speechless. ’That was 350,000 yuan, not thirty-five.’

’For a mere fifteen-minute trip!’

’As far as he was concerned, taking a car would only take two hours and cost a few hundred yuan. Wouldn’t that be better?’

’Why waste all that money for no reason!’

’But he didn’t understand the world of the rich.’

’Perhaps in a rich man’s eyes, spending 350,000 yuan was no different from him spending thirty-five?’
