Super Rich by Doing as You Please

He couldn’t afford to support a family anyway.

Speaking of being single, he was truly single.

Was there a woman he liked?

Yes, the sister of his late comrade-in-arms. But he had never said anything, so it was a secret crush.

A man who could face down bayonets on the battlefield without flinching was, unbelievably, a total coward when it came to love. He lacked the courage to confess his feelings.

That was why of the two fans he made today, one was for his own sister, and the other was for the woman he liked.

Before evening, Xu Yun returned to the hotel to rest.

Traveling without a tour group was leisurely. You could set your own schedule, not be herded from one attraction to another by a guide like livestock at a market.

As they passed through the hotel lobby, they saw two female college students with backpacks, asking about a room.

Because they had arrived late, all the nearby hotels were full. They had nowhere to stay.

”We really don’t have any rooms left.”

The young woman at the front desk said apologetically, ”Why don’t you try looking at other hotels?”

”There aren’t any at other places, either.”

One of the girls said, ”Can you see if you can figure something out for us? Maybe talk to the guests in a villa that isn’t full and see if we can share a room?”

”I’m sorry, I really can’t do that.”

They wouldn’t dare disturb other guests to negotiate room-sharing. If they got a complaint, it would be more trouble than it was worth.

”Let’s go.”

One of the girls said, ”Let’s just take a cab and stay on West Street.”

’When you’re away from home, you should help each other out.’

”You don’t have a place to stay?”

Xu Yun stepped forward and offered, ”My place has empty rooms. You can stay with us.”

”Really?”

The two girls looked at Xu Yun, who had appeared out of nowhere, and said with pleasant surprise, ”Thank you, handsome! This is great! How much is it? We’ll transfer the money to you right now.”

”You don’t have to pay.”

Xu Yun asked, ”Does either of you know how to cook? If you can cook, that can cover the cost of the room.”

”I can! I can!”

One of the girls said, ”I cook all the time at home. I know how to make some simple home-style dishes.”

”Alright then. Bring your luggage and follow me.”

And so, the two girls followed Xu Yun to his hotel villa.

Lin Wanzhou looked at them, confused. ”What’s this?”

”They arrived late and couldn’t find a place to stay.”

Xu Yun explained with a smile, ”So I let them stay with us. The rooms are empty anyway, and they can help us with meals. The food at the restaurant next door is truly awful.”

”Oh.”

Lin Wanzhou grunted in acknowledgment, naturally having no objections.

Xu Yun said, ”There are two empty rooms upstairs. Go on up and pick one for yourselves.”

”Okay, thank you, handsome!”

The two thanked him again and went upstairs.

A moment later, they came back downstairs after putting away their luggage.

”I checked earlier. The hotel kitchen’s refrigerator has some common ingredients.”

Xu Yun didn’t stand on ceremony. He said, ”Go take a look and see what you can make for dinner tonight.”

”Okay, I’ll go right now.”

Hearing this, the girl who had said she could cook immediately ran to the kitchen, eager to show what she could do.

”Um, I’ll go help out too.”

The other girl, feeling a bit awkward facing Xu Yun and Lin Wanzhou alone, found an excuse to escape into the kitchen.

”What are you doing in here?”

The girl who was cooking, named Cheng Yiran, looked at her best friend and said with a smile, ”What’s wrong? Too shy to be alone with the handsome guys?”

”I came in to help you, okay?”

The other girl said worriedly, ”Cheng Yiran, I didn’t even know you could cook. You weren’t just lying to him, were you?”

”No, don’t worry.”

Cheng Yiran said confidently, ”Just wait. The meal I’m about to make will definitely win them over.”

”Sigh, this is my fault. I should have listened to you and booked a hotel online earlier. Now we almost ended up with nowhere to stay.”

”It’s fine. This is what you call a blessing in disguise.”

Cheng Yiran said, ”We’re staying in a villa now! You saw the place, right? It’s so much better than the hotel we originally planned on. It even has a swimming pool.”

”I know. I looked up the rooms in this hotel online before. The cheapest ones are over 1,000 yuan a day.”

Cheng Yiran chopped ingredients while saying with a smile, ”After dinner, later tonight, let’s go for a swim in the pool.”

”Did you bring a swimsuit?”

”I did. You didn’t?”

”I didn’t.”

Cheng Yiran teased, ”No problem. Worst case, you can just go skinny-dipping in the middle of the night. No one will see you anyway. And even if someone does, it’s not like you’d be losing out. The guys are so handsome.”

”You’re horrible!”

Her best friend blushed bright red and said, ”If you have the guts to skinny-dip, then I will too.”

”Who’s going skinny-dipping?”

Suddenly, Xu Yun’s voice came from right behind them, making them jump.

The two of them turned around, their faces instantly flushing red, so embarrassed they wanted the ground to swallow them whole.

How embarrassing. It was beyond embarrassing.

”First off, I wasn’t trying to eavesdrop on your private conversation.”

Xu Yun said with a smile, ”I just came to see what you were planning to make and if you needed any more ingredients. I could have my friend drive out to buy them.”

”It’s pretty well-stocked. We should be fine.”

”Alright then, carry on.”

Xu Yun said, ”If you need any help, just call us. We’ll be in the living room watching TV.”

”Okay.”

After Xu Yun left, her friend immediately started complaining to Cheng Yiran.

”See? This is all your fault. He must have heard our entire conversation.”

”How was I supposed to know he’d come over?”

”Great. Now he probably thinks we’re a couple of perverts.”

Cheng Yiran: ”...”

As dusk fell, the lights in the villa came on.

Cheng Yiran and her friend finished cooking and brought the food to the table—a very ordinary meal of three dishes and a soup.

Leaving aside the taste for a moment, the presentation alone looked good. Xu Yun was not disappointed.

Cheng Yiran said, ”Handsome guys, give it a try. How’s the taste? If there’s anything you don’t like, just point it out and I’ll do better next time.”

”Alright.”

Xu Yun tried the salt-fried pork and nodded. ”Not bad. It’s edible.”

”That’s good.”

Hearing this, Cheng Yiran and her friend breathed an inward sigh of relief. They had passed the test.

After dinner, the two of them proactively cleared the table and washed the dishes.

Back in the living room, a slightly bored Cheng Yiran said, ”Hey handsome guys, do you play mobile games? We should team up and play. Otherwise, just sitting here is so boring.”

”Sure.”

Xu Yun asked, ”What do you usually play?”

”Honor of Kings? Do you know how to play?”

Cheng Yiran said, ”My friend and I play a couple of rounds for fun when we have free time.”

”I know a little.”

Xu Yun looked at Lin Wanzhou. ”Do you know how to play? Join us.”

”Never played.”

Cheng Yiran said, ”It’s really easy, handsome. Download it. We can teach you.”

And so, the four newbies teamed up to play, randomly dragging down some poor fifth player from the general lobby.

Finally, after a seven-game losing streak, the team fell apart, and everyone silently retreated to their rooms to rest.

「In the middle of the night.」

Unable to sleep, Cheng Yiran and her friend couldn’t resist the temptation of the pool. They snuck out of bed, changed, and went down to the pool to splash around.

Since there was only one swimsuit between them, Cheng Yiran gave it to her friend. She herself came out wearing just an oversized T-shirt and her underwear.

The moment she got in the water, her T-shirt was soaked through, clinging tightly to her body and perfectly revealing her sexy, curvaceous figure.

In his room upstairs, Xu Yun couldn’t sleep either and was idly gazing at the stars from his window.

He suddenly heard splashing sounds from below. He glanced down and happened to see the scene, witnessing a wet T-shirt temptation right before his eyes.

Xu Yun recalled their conversation in the kitchen that afternoon.

’Didn’t they say they were going to go skinny-dipping in the middle of the night?’

’Why are they wearing clothes?’

He sighed, shook his head with a smile, and muttered to himself, ”Pretty girls really are all liars.”
