The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 385: Chapter 385 Jinghui: Donate More Incense Oil to Show Devotion

Stay true to yourself, and face it with ease.

This was the paper note left for Song Ci in the brocade bag given by Jinghui, just eight simple characters.

Face it with ease? You idiot, how am I supposed to do that with hundreds of heads rolling around like watermelons? You want me to face it with ease?

This motivational nonsense is toxic, I swear I won’t buy into it!

Song Ci searched through the entire brocade bag, but apart from this paper slip, there was nothing else, not even a peace charm.

What a cheapskate.

”Master Ming Yuan, is this really all there is?” Song Ci looked hopefully at Master Ming Yuan.

Master Ming Yuan nodded with a smile, ”Master Jinghui said, this is enough.”

What a joke, this nonsense not only doesn’t help, it might even make you gain weight.

Seeing her looking disheartened, Master Ming Yuan said, ”Madam has great wisdom, she will surely turn misfortune into blessing when encountering trouble.”

Song Ci forced a smile.

”Would you like to do as you please? In the front hall, Master Ming Xin is giving a sermon. If you’re interested, you might want to go and listen for a bit.”

Song Ci quickly clasped her hands together, ”Thank you, Master Ming Yuan.”

Master Ming Yuan chanted a Buddhist verse and then left.

Song Ci once more examined the paper note, even considering some particularly obscure methods, soaking it in a teacup and taking it back out.

She waited and waited, but the note remained unchanged, certainly not written with some invisible ink revealing other words.

”The revealed-by-water trick they show on TV, it’s all a lie, there’s nothing there.” Song Ci spat in disdain.

Nanny: ”...”

Could it be that Madam is having nightmares or hallucinations?

Song Ci sighed, put away the note, and said, ”Let’s go for a walk, burn some incense.”

She walked out of the Zen Temple, looking at a centuries-old Bodhi tree not far away, her thoughts wandering.

Could it be that Jinghui predicted she would come and even knew why she would come?

Then stepping back, did Jinghui also foresee the impending catastrophe at the Song Mansion?

Song Ci licked her lips, looked down at the paper note in her hand, wondering what ”Stay true to yourself, and face it with ease” hinted at, what was her initial intention?

Living life lazily, waiting for death?

Gee, I’m most annoyed by these monks pretending to be profound, giving obscure riddles impossible to decipher.

Song Ci took Nanny to burn some incense in different halls, then went to the front hall to listen to the sermon and inquired about Lin Qing’s whereabouts.

She came a bit away from the Bodhi tree, only to see Lin Qing sitting under it, sipping tea, lost in thought about something.

Tranquility leads to insight.

Song Ci thought of this phrase and recalling rumors about Lin Qing, walked over.

”You’re here, not going to pay respects?”

Lin Qing smiled and said, ”The scenery here is excellent. Besides, the Buddha is in my heart, that’s sufficient.”

Song Ci: ”Indeed.”

She also sat down, and Lin Qing quietly poured her a cup of tea.

Song Ci didn’t say anything, nor did she ask what was on Lin Qing’s mind. Some things needn’t be asked, and people should maintain a suitable distance.

The two sat together, quietly enjoying two cups of tea. As more people arrived, breaking the peace, they got up to leave.

A little novice monk popped out, stopping Song Ci, saying, ”Luckily, Madam hasn’t left yet.”

Song Ci: ”???”

”Master Jinghui has a message for you through me, could we speak privately?”

Song Ci was delighted, asking, ”Really, what is it?”

Walking a bit farther with Song Ci, the little monk cleared his throat and imitated Jinghui’s words: ”Deciphering the will of heaven is not easy, shouldn’t Madam donate a little more incense money to show your sincerity?”

Song Ci: ”...”

You old scoundrel monk, you’re actually a meat-eater, aren’t you!

”One thought to heaven, one thought to hell.”

The little monk recited another phrase.
