The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 358: Chapter 358: The Bastard Sends a Letter, It’s Not Good News

Did that third son whom I’ve never met send a letter to Song Ci?

Song Ci thought, it’s never a good sign when an unexpected message arrives; whatever is in this letter, it’s surely no good news.

The letter was merely a thin sheet of paper, and she read through it quickly, finishing it in no time.

Slam!

Song Ci slammed the letter onto the kang table, picked up her tea, and drank it all, then said, ”Bring me the spittoon, I feel like throwing up.”

Nanny was startled and hurriedly brought over a blue and white porcelain jar from the corner.

Song Ci: ”...”

Even a spittoon is made of blue and white porcelain? Isn’t this a bit too extravagant?

She retched a couple of times but couldn’t vomit anything, so she pushed it away.

Nanny was left bewildered, and asked, ”Madam, should I call Lin Qing over?”

Song Ci shook her head, ”No need, I just feel disgusted. Look at this person, he’s exactly like his pig-headed father. Becoming an official means hitting it off with a mistress? Or is he just brainwashed by pillow talk?”

Nanny took the letter and read it, speechless as well.

What got into Third Master? Has he lost his mind?

The letter boldly stated that he had taken a Noble Concubine, who was already pregnant, and that he would bring her to pay respects to Song Ci. He also wanted Song Ci to calm Madam Lu, fearing she might do something foolish.

Anyone reading the letter would think it was foolishly written. He took a concubine, the concubine was pregnant, and instead of telling his wife, he wrote to his stepmother, asking her to comfort his official wife. Has Chen Shimei’s brain been soaking in pig oil?

”Madam, this...”

”You think it’s bizarre too, right? Look at him, such an idiot, writing a letter to ask me to coax his wife? He’s got some nerve, thinking I’m just an old lady here to clean up after his messes like a child?” Song Ci huffed angrily.

Unable to control his lower half, getting another woman pregnant, and then asking for external help to smooth things over with his wife—this Song Laosan is either truly stupid or just playing dumb.

Given the authority of her counterpart, Nanny held back her words, only saying tactfully, ”It’s said that care leads to confusion, perhaps Third Master is just overly worried and thus solicited your help to advise the Third Madam?”

”Do you believe that?” Song Ci said, slapping the letter, ”If he were so afraid, he would have simply kept it hidden.”

Nanny: ”Madam, it’s easy to hide for a moment, but impossible to hide forever. Since Bai’s womb is already carrying, sooner or later she’ll be brought back; it’s not like they can remain without acknowledging their ancestors and never enter the genealogy. Besides, didn’t Third Madam send someone over? Now that the messenger has returned with the letter, Third Master must know Third Madam already found out.”

”If it can’t be hidden, don’t expect me to clean up his mess, I’m not his real mother.” Song Ci tried to recall the things between Song Laosan and Madam Lu, saying, ”Back when he knelt in front of me, insisting he wouldn’t marry anyone but her, has he forgotten how he cried then? And now he acts like Chen Shimei.”

Nanny: ”...”

Not his real mother, but you are his stepmother.

”What’s Madam’s plan then?”

Song Ci replied coldly, ”I’m just an old woman with no education and even worse at talking, what can I comfort? I’m not getting involved.”

Nanny replied, ”Indeed, things have come to such a state, it’s beyond control. As you mentioned earlier, the Third Madam will eventually compromise. What’s worrisome is that Third Madam might vent her anger on the two children, crying day and night, affecting them.”

Song Ci stiffened.

When parents have marital issues, it’s the children who suffer the most, regardless of what happens with the two adults, those two grandchildren of hers are still doing well at the moment.

”Go see what’s happening with Third Madam.” Song Ci was still reluctant to let the two children suffer.

Nanny curved her lips and quickly sent someone, and before long, someone came back to report that Madam Lu had fainted.
