The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 382: Chapter 382 Scared to Death

It was the first time the Madam wanted to bathe in the middle of the night, but the servants learned that the Madam had a nightmare and wanted to take a bath, so they quickly lit a fire to heat water.

The weather in the capital was already approaching October, with heavy dew late at night. The small kitchen always kept a fire going to warm water, fearing the masters might suddenly need hot water. However, on Song Ci’s side, there was not enough water for bathing yet, so they increased the fire.

The commotion at Chunhui Hall was somewhat loud, but it couldn’t conceal it from the main courtyard, especially concerning Song Ci, so the subordinates did not dare to hide it.

Nanny Fang quietly woke Song Zhiyuan’s family, saying that the Madam over there had a nightmare and wanted to bathe.

Song Zhiyuan frowned, got up, put on his shoes, casually grabbed his clothes to put on, and said, ”I’ll go over and have a look; you go back to sleep. I’ll head to the office later from the study.”

It was almost time for the morning court session.

Even though Song Zhiyuan was considerate, how could Madam really go back to lie down? That was her mother-in-law; if the husband had to go over to greet her, how could she, as the daughter-in-law, not?

”Since I’m already awake, I’ll go with you. Nanny Fang, quickly help me dress and do my hair.” Madam had already gotten up swiftly.

Thus, the lights in the main courtyard were lit up.

However, Song Ci, soaked in a bathtub filled with dried rose petals, with her eyes slightly closed, was still thinking about the nightmare she just had.

Rather than experiencing it herself, it was more like being an observer, watching how the Song Family was convicted and beheaded, the blood flowing like rivers...

Song Ci shivered all over, scared to death.

”Madam, is the water not hot enough?” Hong You, sharp-eyed, saw Song Ci shivering and reached out to test the water.

The water was quite hot.

”Add a bit more.” Song Ci sank into the water.

Nanny Gong noticed something was wrong and said, ”Madam, how about we call Lin Qing to give you a massage?”

She looked too tense, clearly really frightened.

Song Ci shook her head, ”No need to bother everyone; go light some Calming Incense.”

Upon her command, the maids got moving.

The Calming Incense was lit quickly. Although Song Ci didn’t let Lin Qing come over, Hongtao, who had been taught by Lin Qing, skillfully massaged Song Ci’s head.

Song Ci gradually relaxed, and only after a quarter of an hour did she rise from the bathtub.

”Madam, the Prime Minister and Madam have arrived,” Nanny Gong said as she helped her dress.

Song Ci said, ”It’s not even light yet; why are they here.”

”They must have heard the commotion in our yard and were worried.”

Song Ci helplessly said, ”I’m perfectly fine, what are they worrying about.”

Nanny Gong was noncommittal, it’s not because you scared them to death in the first half of the year.

Walking out of the cleansing room, Song Ci indeed saw the two elders sitting on stools drinking tea. Seeing her come out, they all stood up.

”Mother, we heard you had a nightmare? Are you alright?” Song Zhiyuan asked with concern.

Song Ci smiled slightly, ”I’m fine, just had a nightmare, nothing serious. You don’t need to worry, just carry on with your duties.”

”Would you like us to call Doctor Lin to check your pulse?” Madam asked.

”No need, no need to bother everyone. If I call her now, it might alarm the second family.” Song Ci was helped to sit down, saying, ”I’m just getting old, with less blood in my heart, that’s why I’m anxious.”

”Are you sure?”

”Of course, rest assured, if I really felt uncomfortable, I wouldn’t hide it. I also want to be like the Empress Dowager, holding great-grandchildren, and I wouldn’t mistreat my body!”

Great-grandchildren, huh?

Madam and Song Zhiyuan exchanged a glance, suddenly feeling a bit guilty, what to do?
