The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 379: Chapter 379: The Joy of Being Blessed with an Imperial Grandson

Anyone who has watched palace intrigue dramas knows that the first son and the first grandson of the Emperor mean the continuation of the Heavenly Family’s rule.

And why is ”the first” so important? Because it always comes first.

Whether it is the Imperial Family or the common people, there will always be more joy and tolerance for this first, especially on such a joyous occasion.

So, the grand move made by the Eldest Prince, although calculating, truly pleased the dragon heart. You must know that Emperor Chu has been on the throne for nearly twenty years, having several Princes, but not a single Imperial Grandson.

The Eldest Prince has been married for two years. Emperor Chu has been waiting for good news from his mansion, even granting him a concubine to speed up the process of expanding the family line, yet he waited until now.

If what the Eldest Prince Consort carries is an Imperial Grandson, he would be even more favored. But even if it’s a granddaughter, it wouldn’t be bad, given that the Emperor currently has no grandchildren.

Indeed, Emperor Chu was extremely pleased, repeatedly praising and complimenting them.

The officials, all perceptive, also stood up to offer their congratulations, speaking words of flattery.

A doctor from the Ministry of Rites even suggested that since the Eldest Prince has been married for two years and has now expanded the Heavenly Family, it wouldn’t be appropriate to continue calling him the Eldest Prince, which would confuse the generational titles.

The implication was that the Eldest Prince should be granted a royal title.

The Third Prince, Fourth Prince, and others exchanged glances, secretly clenching their fists inside their sleeves.

That fellow is an ally of the Eldest Prince; if this wasn’t all premeditated, they would dare to bet their heads on it.

Ha, the eldest brother really kept this tight under wraps, not a hint of wind, truly cunning and sly.

Emperor Chu, greatly pleased, spoke with imperial authority: ”Lu Qing is right, generational titles cannot be confused. As such, the Eldest Prince is bestowed the title of Prince Xiao, with the fief in Yanzhou. From now on, you must manage your own fief diligently.”

The title of ”Xiao” signifies how much joy and importance Emperor Chu places on him.

The Eldest Prince, no, it should be Prince Xiao, was overjoyed, kneeling on the ground to give thanks, almost bursting into tears.

He had been waiting for this day for a long, long time.

The other Princes felt tight in their hearts, very uncomfortable.

How did the eldest take the lead first? It’s frustrating that we’re not old enough, marrying too late.

”This is your first child, you two must be careful. Later, the Empress will send some stable people to Prince Xiao’s Mansion to ensure my first Imperial Grandson is born safely,” Emperor Chu continued.

The underlying meaning of this statement was that he highly values this first Imperial Grandson, and no one should attempt any tricks; otherwise, whoever touches the dragon’s reverse scale will die.

Empress Gongsun stood up and responded with respect.

Seeing this, all the officials had a measure in their hearts; the Eldest Prince has been enfeoffed and is about to have the first Imperial Grandson, indicating his ranking in the Emperor’s mind.

On the side of the ladies, not to mention how many concubines with Princes were envious and jealous, everyone looked at the newly titled Consort Xiao with eagerness in their eyes.

Empress Dowager Wang was also very pleased, with her first great-grandson, she expressed a few words of concern to Consort Xiao, nothing more than taking care of her health and so on.

Consort Xiao was full of joy, rose with grace to give thanks, her eyes filled with pride and happiness.

The Eldest Prince waited long, and wasn’t she the same?

Empress Gongsun smiled and said, ”Since you are with child, you needn’t be overly formal. Quickly, sit down, Biluo, bring Consort Xiao a cup of longan tea.”

”Thank you, Mother Empress,” Consort Xiao thanked with a smile.

Song Ci observed everyone’s expressions, clicking his tongue in amazement at this rare scene, a real palace intrigue in action rather than mere acting.

Surely tonight will be a sleepless night for many.
