The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 384: Chapter 384: Go to Songshan Temple to Find External Help

Nanny Gong watched as the sky gradually brightened and heard a creak behind her. She turned around to see Song Ci walking out, gripping the door frame with a stern face.

”Madam?” She stepped forward to support her.

Song Ci squeezed her hand and said, ”Let’s go back, have breakfast, I’m hungry.”

Nanny Gong paused for a moment, then smiled and agreed.

Back at Chunhui Hall, breakfast was already laid on the table, a rather plain morning meal. The porridge was nutritious millet porridge, and Song Ci ate while deep in thought.

”Go ask the Madam to make arrangements, I want to go to Songshan Temple to offer incense. Oh, and see if Lin Qing wants to go too?”

Nanny Gong was a bit surprised, ”Going now?”

”Yes, we’ll leave right after breakfast, prepare a bit. If it gets too late, we’ll stay overnight at the manor,” Song Ci replied.

This sudden decision didn’t trouble anyone; after all, she was the old ancestor.

The Madam already knew her mother-in-law had a nightmare, and this sudden visit to the temple might be to invite a master to recite scriptures or calm her mind?

”Mother, are you sure you don’t need us to accompany you?” Jiang learned from her sister-in-law about Song Ci’s nightmare and was a bit concerned.

Song Ci smiled and said, ”I’m just going to offer incense, I’ll be back at the latest tomorrow. You don’t need to follow, especially you, being pregnant, it’s not appropriate to go.”

She glanced at Jiang’s slightly protruding belly and said, ”Take good care of yourself at home, and there’s plenty to do in the mansion. In a few days, Siliang is getting married, and there’s much to prepare. Help your sister-in-law with the household matters.”

Having said that, there was nothing more to be done but let her go.

They watched as Song Ci got into the carriage and left, then turned back to the mansion.

...

Songshan Temple, a guard had already delivered the message to the temple in advance, so the abbot waited at the mountain gate. When Song Ci’s carriage arrived, he stepped forward to greet her.

Song Ci, supported by Nanny Gong, got out of the carriage and saw Master Ming Yuan. She clasped her hands together and said, ”Master Ming Yuan, I’m here to trouble you.”

Master Ming Yuan clasped his hands and smiled, ”The Buddha saves all beings. The temple opens its doors to all. Why speak of trouble? Elder Benefactor Song, you are too courteous, please this way.”

Song Ci gathered her cloak and said, ”Entering deep autumn, the mountain’s chill is indeed stronger.”

She felt a bit cold.

Master Ming Yuan looked towards the deep mountains at the back and said, ”This year’s winter may arrive a bit early. Elder Benefactor, please take care of your health.”

Song Ci smiled and agreed.

”Is Master Jinghui back from his travels?”

Song Ci’s purpose was naturally directed towards Jinghui. He was a renowned monk, surely he would have a way to help the Song Mansion avoid calamity.

Indeed, Song Ci felt she was not capable enough to handle such a disaster, so she sought outside help, and her first thought was not her clever son but Jinghui.

Jinghui was a sage monk, let him calculate how to avert this disaster?

Master Ming Yuan smiled and said, ”The master’s return is uncertain, he did not say when he would come back.”

Upon hearing this, Song Ci felt somewhat dejected and disappointed.

Not here?

”However, before the master left, he instructed me that if Madam Song from the Song Mansion came, I should pass on something to her,” Ming Yuan continued.

Song Ci’s eyes suddenly sparkled, ”Really? He truly left something for me?”

Ah, Jinghui is really considerate!

Ming Yuan nodded affirmatively, guiding her to the Zen Temple. A young monk brought bitter tea while he opened a cabinet, took out a red wooden box, opened it, and handed Song Ci a brocade bag.

”This is the item Master Jinghui entrusted me to pass on.”
