The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 201: Chapter 201: Feeling like I’m about to be sold by my mom

Listening to Song Ci criticize her son, Niu Pan’er couldn’t help but glance over at Song Zhiyu next door.

He looked as if he had lost the will to live and was helpless, making her laugh uncontrollably.

Song Zhiyu glared at her, picked up a sesame cake from the table, and took a fierce bite to vent his frustration.

He was humiliated, all thanks to his old mother!

Niu Pan’er withdrew her gaze, poured more tea for Song Ci, and said with a smile, ”Your words are truly amusing.”

”I’m not deliberately teasing you, I’m just telling the truth,” Song Ci said. ”Commandery Princess, don’t listen to those gossips outside saying you don’t know the female code or feel no shame—they’re the real clowns. I’ve said it before: What everyone can do is not impressive. Out of ten women, nine can embroider, but only one can go to the battlefield, and that one is you. That’s what makes you amazing.”

”Madam, you’re praising me too much.” Niu Pan’er felt a bit embarrassed by the compliment.

”It’s well-deserved. It’s because of soldiers like you guarding the borders and defending our country that we women can idly embroider, paint, and gossip in the backyard. So don’t heed those words or take them to heart—they’re not worth it.”

Niu Pan’er was somewhat moved and nodded, ”I know, and I don’t hold any grudges.”

She had known since she was a child that she was different from other women. She didn’t like the things girls did and had long regarded herself as a man, ready to take over Prince Dingbei’s Mansion at any time.

As for other women’s gossip about her, she didn’t care. She didn’t blame them for not understanding her.

Song Ci took the opportunity to ask about her daily activities and hobbies.

Upon hearing this, Niu Pan’er felt a bit embarrassed: ”Apart from being in the military camp, I haven’t done much else. I’m often practicing martial arts with swords and spears. Even when I read, I only read military books.”

Speaking of it, it’s no wonder others call her a tomboy—she doesn’t know anything about women’s activities.

”That’s also good. Practicing with swords and spears and martial arts is a great way to improve your physical fitness,” Song Ci said. ”I heard before that you saved my useless son. I’m very grateful to you for that.”

Niu Pan’er glanced at Song Zhiyu and shook her head, ”There’s no need for thanks. It was my horse that got startled and almost hurt Song Yu... Song Si. It was my fault.”

”It’s not your fault that the horse got startled. You saved him, making you his savior. Si Lang, come over and properly thank the Commandery Princess.”

”Me?” Song Zhiyu pointed at himself. ”She just said her horse almost hurt me, and I didn’t even hold it against her, yet I have to thank her?”

Song Ci: ”Stop dawdling. It’s a fact that she saved you, so hurry up and thank her.”

Song Zhiyu rolled his eyes but, under his mother’s pressure, reluctantly came over and muttered a thank you.

”So half-hearted, Si Lang; that’s not acceptable,” Song Ci was dissatisfied.

Niu Pan’er laughed, ”Madam, it’s okay. It’s all in the past. Don’t make it difficult for Si Ye.”

”What Si Ye? Does he still dare to call himself that in front of you? I’ll break his legs if he does. Just call him by his name, or Little Si if you prefer.”

Song Zhiyu protested, ”Why? I’m not even familiar with her!”

Little Si is only used by those close to him.

”Once strangers, twice acquaintances; you’ll gradually become familiar. You didn’t know each other until you saved each other,” Song Ci said with a mischievous smile, casting a glance at him. ”You really need to repay the Commandery Princess properly. Without her saving you from under the horse, you’d be bedridden. You should truly thank her.”

If possible, offering oneself in marriage or something could also happen!

Song Zhiyu became somewhat wary, feeling that his mother might be trying to sell him off!
