The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 227: Chapter 227: Commandery Princess, Aren’t You Clever

Niu Pan’er felt her happiest and most relaxed moments were in the military camp, during drills and strategizing.

She never imagined that one day she would sit on the ground chatting and laughing with women, and find this feeling not too bad compared to being in the military camp.

”You often stay in the military camp and have participated in various battles, do you have any injuries? Lin Qing is a doctor with excellent medical skills. Why don’t you let her check your pulse? If there’s anything amiss, it’s good to adjust while you’re still young,” Song Ci suggested.

Lin Qing smiled and chided, ”Madam, the military doctors of Dingbei are also good, how can I compare? Even the Prince Dingbei’s Mansion has its own doctors, let me not make a fool of myself?”

”I disagree with that statement. For the same ailment, the general direction of treatment may be consistent, but the small details depend on each doctor’s experience and insights. You mustn’t belittle yourself; perhaps there are details the others missed that you might catch,” Song Ci disagreed and said, ”I always feel there’s a reason ’collaborative wisdom’ is a phrase. Like prescriptions for the same illness, each doctor can consider adjusting the dosages.”

Niu Pan’er smiled at Lin Qing and said, ”Madam speaks reason; how about we trouble Doctor Lin to take my pulse?”

At this point, Lin Qing nodded and signaled to her maid, who took a medicine pillow from the small bag she carried and handed it over.

Sitting on the ground, Lin Qing didn’t mind putting the medicine pillow on her thigh, allowing Niu Pan’er to rest her arm on it, and carefully took her pulse.

After taking her pulse and checking her eyelids and tongue, she furrowed her brows and said, ”Have you suffered a serious internal injury, Commandery Princess?”

Niu Pan’er’s eyes brightened, and she nodded.

”You’ve not only suffered internal injuries, but you’ve also been deeply invaded by cold energy. Inside your body, damp and cold stagnation, I imagine in winter your leg joints ache, and during menstruation, you experience abdominal pain, qi and blood stagnation,” Lin Qing said, frowning, ”I assume the Commandery Princess has also visited many famous doctors. They should have diagnosed this as well and prescribed you treatments.”

Niu Pan’er replied, ”Yes, during a battle, my squad ambushed the enemy general but got lost and encountered extreme cold weather. That’s when the cold energy got trapped in me. Since then, my legs have had chronic cold, and my menstruation has been uncomfortable. But this pain is nothing compared to battlefield injuries; I can endure it. The military doctors also prescribed remedies, but, as you know, I often train in the camp and sometimes go to battles, so there’s no time.”

She spoke lightly, but Song Ci’s heart ached when listening; isn’t she only eighteen?

What do other girls do at eighteen? Engage in matchmaking, educate their children, play the zither, brew wine, and admire flowers. And what about her? Crawling and fighting in the cold to defend the country.

Suddenly, a common saying popped into Song Ci’s mind: peace comes at the cost of others carrying the burden for you.

Lin Qing said, ”Commandery Princess, you are a General, you can endure the pain, but this coldness in your womb during menstruation must not be taken lightly. If you don’t carefully adjust, it will be a major problem for your future in bearing children.”

Niu Pan’er was stunned, slightly lowered her head, and felt a bit shy.

”You’re right, you’ve developed menstrual disorders. It needs to be adjusted, it must be adjusted,” Song Ci slapped her thigh and said, ”Lin Qing, write her a prescription. No matter how expensive the medicine is, prescribe it. As long as she gets better, that’s all that matters. Any medicinal ingredients not found in the Prince Dingbei’s Mansion, I’ll get them for her.”

”Madam...” Niu Pan’er exclaimed in surprise.
