The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 242: Chapter 242: Never Seen Such a Shameless Person

As the saying goes, ”Family disgrace should not be made public.” For someone else, Madam Wei might not have disclosed the scandalous affair of her granddaughter. But who is Song Ci? He is the one who informed her that something was amiss with Wei Cheng, and he knows exactly who Wei Cheng is involved with.

Now, the prospective bride has been replaced, and the reasons behind this change are bound to be scrutinized, causing further embarrassment. Madam Wei doesn’t want Song Ci to think that she is sacrificing her granddaughter to save her grand-niece.

So, Madam Wei confessed. The change in the marriage arrangement was entirely because of her shameless granddaughter and her concubine mother’s scheming.

Perhaps her eldest daughter-in-law also played a behind-the-scenes role in this plot, but regardless of the truth, Wei Wenyan’s loss of reputation is real.

”In the end, is Wei Cheng someone who fancies men?” This was Song Ci’s curiosity.

If it were true, how could he have had a relationship with Wei Wenyan? Could he truly be bisexual, intent on deceiving into marriage?

Madam Wei wiped the corner of her eye, nodded, and said with a bitter smile, ”While studying in his hometown, he got very close to a classmate. He bought a small house in the west of the city to accommodate that boy, precisely for their own convenience to meet...”

Her voice trailed off, gritting her teeth in agitation, as if too ashamed to speak further.

Understood, he is indeed someone who fancies men, beyond any doubt.

”Now, I have yet to consent to this marriage. They only see me as standing in their way. Little do they know, my refusal is not because she is at fault, but because Wei Cheng is not a worthy match.” Madam Wei spoke with some powerlessness.

”Since you found this out, why didn’t you decline the Wei family’s proposal?” Song Ci asked.

”I did.” Madam Wei said through clenched teeth, ”I never expected the dignified Marquis Weiyuan’s household to go to such lengths for the sake of this illegitimate son.”

Upon hearing this, Song Ci’s eyes lit up with gossip.

It’s here, it’s here; the version of such shameless people has finally arrived.

”Madam Wei came personally with Wei Cheng to explain, saying it was just a classmate relationship. The person had lost both parents and had a miserable life; Wei Cheng took pity on him and took care of him repeatedly. She even said if we minded, they could send him away. I just chuckled at that moment.” Madam Wei sneered, ”And while Madam Wei was explaining to me, Wei Cheng, for some reason, was alone in a room with my incompetent second granddaughter.”

”When they were discovered, do you know what Wei Cheng said? He said, in truth, during the meeting that day, he had taken a liking to my second granddaughter, and his visit this time was to propose marriage, an action of spontaneous affection.”

In Song Ci’s heart was a silent exclamation: what a character, truly something!

Madam Wei was so furious that her chest heaved with angry breaths, ”They think I’m a fool, fabricating such lies to cover their sordidness to secure a bride. I’ve lived nearly sixty years and seen all sorts of storms and people, yet I have, yet I have never...”

”Never seen such shameless people.”

Song Ci and she spoke in unison, sharing the sentiment and speaking righteously together.

Madam Wei: ”...”

She looked at Song Ci, their eyes met, both momentarily forgot how to be angry, and instead, there was a little urge to laugh.

Indeed, Madam Wei was amused, and her laughter dispelled much of the frustration in her chest.

”Elder sister, I...”

”Aunt, Aunt, please have pity on Wenyan, agree to the marriage. Would you really let Wenyan become a nun? She is also your own granddaughter. Yunnang is here to kowtow before you.”

Outside, there came a shrill cry.

Upon hearing this voice, Madam Wei’s smile froze, her face showing anger.
