The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 243: Chapter 243: He Who Belittles Himself is Belittled by Others

Madam Wei was truly furious.

Song Ci came to visit her, and presumably the whole household knew about it. Yet, at this very moment, such a discordant voice emerged. Why was that?

Wasn’t it just to force her to agree to this marriage in front of outsiders?

Idiots.

Madam Wei angrily slapped the bed, shouting, ”Fine, very fine indeed, you really think I can’t die fast enough.”

Song Ci looked at Wet Nurse Shui, who also wore an angry expression, curtseyed, and left the room.

”You better be careful. If anything happens to your True Qi, what would happen to this whole family? That child Qiuman can only rely on you. If something happens to you, what would she do?”

Madam Wei’s eyes reddened, ”Qiuman, that child, I have wronged her. I am truly becoming blind with age and almost harmed her.”

”Stop crying. It’s fortunate that things haven’t led to a major mistake. It’s just that second girl of yours, she’s truly lost her head, offering herself up.” Song Ci said, ”Actually, on the day of the meeting, I already saw it. Your second girl had already secretly fallen for Wei Cheng.”

”What?” Madam Wei was taken aback; she had no idea about this matter at all.

”So you must learn the lesson. In the future, when arranging meetings for the children, even if it’s just for company, don’t bring peers. Look at this situation now.” Song Ci lectured bluntly, ”The most taboo thing about arranging meetings is bringing two peers together. If the person likes the other one, how embarrassing and hurtful would that be for the intended one?”

”I didn’t consider this.” Madam Wei was furious: ”Even so, she shouldn’t be so muddle-headed and sell herself cheap. She doesn’t even think that losing her reputation as she enters the household would make people look down on her. Especially the mother-in-law would dislike her, and even the husband would hold her in contempt. She’s too naïve, thinking that this would make everything foolproof?”

Song Ci stayed silent. Wei Wenyan, being an illegitimate daughter, even if favored, was still just an illegitimate child. With Wei Cheng’s circumstances, he would be quite promising if not for that inclination towards men, wouldn’t he?

As an illegitimate daughter, the suitable families aren’t many, so she could only give it a try. If she succeeded, she might even become a marquis’s wife, otherwise, at the very least an Imperial Decree.

Unfortunately, as Madam Wei said, she used the wrong method, not realizing that those who demean themselves are demeaned by others.

The crying outside had subsided a bit.

Madam Wei looked grim.

”Since it has come to this, you tell them the pros and cons, and let them choose for themselves. Whether it turns out good or bad in the future, they have to bear it themselves. Old Wei, you have done your best,” Song Ci consoled.

As for what degree of inclination Wei Cheng had, Song Ci didn’t know. In the best case, he would be bisexual, get married, have a child, and then leave the woman to guard an empty room for life.

The fear was that he might not like women at all, won’t even get close, or worse, find his male lover to replace him in completing the task of having children, that would be hell.

Wei Wenyan, she had no idea what kind of person she had dealt with, thinking she had arranged a match of a lifetime, not knowing what was waiting for her in the future.

Madam Wei closed her eyes; when she opened them, clarity had returned to her gaze. She said, ”You are right. I have done what I should. If they insist on rushing to their demise, I can’t stop them. It’s hard to live, but to die, how easy is that? Let’s just say I have one less granddaughter.”

Song Ci patted her hand in comfort and sighed.

Indeed, this was quite a vexing matter. Fortunately, her family had fewer granddaughters, but she would still need to remind them to avoid causing such troubles.
