The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 214: Chapter 214: The Thick-Skinned Song Ci

Song Ci left Master Jinghui’s Zen Temple with about a dozen peace charms, glanced back, and pressed her lips together.

She couldn’t understand, was this Monk really just looking at her so simply?

And all those seemingly profound Buddhist sayings he spoke, what were they all about?

To come to save others?

Song Ci rubbed her forehead. She was most vexed by such vague words that she had to guess, and she couldn’t guess them through; it was like a cat scratching in her heart, making her itch.

Indeed, he was a Monk, only speaking Buddhist verses.

Nanny Gong approached, supporting her, and asked with concern, ”Madam, are you alright?”

”Ah, I’m fine, what could be wrong?” Song Ci asked back strangely, then took out a peace charm from her pocket and placed it in her hand, saying, ”Oh, right, this is a peace charm I got from the Monk—I mean, from Master Jinghui. You should take one.”

Nanny Gong was overwhelmed by the favor, as a peace charm personally made by Master Jinghui was extremely rare, yet Song Ci gave it to her without a second thought.

”Madam, how can I accept this? Master Jinghui’s peace charms are so precious; you should keep it for yourself.”

Song Ci said, ”It’s alright, I got more than ten of them.”

As she spoke, she took out a handful of charms folded into triangles from her pocket, visibly more than ten.

Nanny Gong: ”...”

”Take it, I think this Master has some real skill, and the peace charms he writes should work well, just for peace of mind.” Song Ci patted her arm in a friendly manner.

Nanny Gong had a complex expression and said, ”I greatly appreciate Madam’s thoughtfulness; I’ll sew it into a small wallet and carry it with me later.”

Song Ci nodded, ”Come on, let’s go to Old Wei’s side, I still need to appraise for her.”

Old Wei?

Corner of Nanny Gong’s mouth twitched, feeling quite helpless.

After the master and servant left, when the novice delivered the meal to Master Jinghui, he opened the door to find the Master rubbing his wrist, which puzzled him, what happened to the Master’s hand?

Master Jinghui calmly put his hand down, but his mind recalled the scene of Song Ci persistently asking for charms, drawing one after another, pretending not to notice his difficulty.

Ha.

So this is the kind of person Song Ci was.

...

Song Ci first returned to her Zen room and learned that Lin Qing had gone to the back mountain with the maid, so she went straight to Madam Wei’s place.

In Madam Wei’s Zen room, she and the Marquis Weiyuan’s wife were having a lively conversation, accompanied by Wang Qiuman and her granddaughter Wei Wenyan.

”Old sister, you’ve finished talking with the Master so quickly?” Madam Wei rose to greet Song Ci.

Song Ci said, ”It wouldn’t be appropriate to stay there and have a vegetarian meal before returning, would it?”

The Marquis Weiyuan’s wife said enviously, ”Madam Song, you are truly blessed to have gained the favor of Master Jinghui.”

Her words came from the heart; she sincerely believed that Song Ci was blessed.

How couldn’t she be blessed?

A peasant woman, after having three sons, even raised such a son and reached the position of an Imperial Decree, isn’t that great fortune?

In contrast, thinking of herself, a trace of pain flashed in the Marquis Weiyuan’s wife’s eyes, which disappeared instantly.

”Indeed, old sister, we are all terribly envious of you,” Madam Wei also smiled and sighed.

Song Ci didn’t incite any jealousy, only said bashfully, ”Unfortunately, I don’t recognize many characters and can’t engage in deeper conversations with the Master; hence, I said goodbye quickly and came here to hide. I hope I’m not disturbing you?”

Madam Wei exchanged a look with her and said, ”Not disturbing at all. It’s just about time for the meal. If you don’t mind, you could join us for it?”

Song Ci understood and graciously agreed.
