Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1297: Chapter 707: Lighting the Path Ahead (Final)

”You two stand on its left and right sides, don’t face it directly, so it has to turn to attack.”

”Stay steady, don’t engage in a head-on battle, try to break its limbs or create chances to sever its tail.”

”...”

The team really felt like a guild in an online game opening a map to tackle a dungeon, with Lance clearly acting as the commander.

From early information gathering, equipment preparation, configuration adjustments, to tactics deployment, all leading to the dungeon’s boss fight.

The current strategy was simple: clear the Flesh Hounds, and then gang up on the Holy Hall overlord.

The difference this time was that the overlord’s tail wasn’t severed, and its movements were swift and powerful, with two Giant Pincers and Bone Spurs handling three of them without losing ground.

Even Lance and the others had to dodge a little, afraid of being caught and stabbed.

But don’t think Junia was absent; combat was the best way to digest that saint’s power, a raise of her hand unleashed Holy Light exploding on the overlord.

Dazzling Holy Light!

No need to inflict heavy damage, just delay its actions, as any slight flaw is fatal to the strong on the field.

And Junia clearly created such an opportunity, almost right when the Holy Hall overlord was affected and paused, the three nearly simultaneously launched an attack.

Baldwin and Barin both targeted the left and right arms, while Lance’s goal was naturally the tail formed of twisted flesh.

But because his attention was focused on the tail, he could see the writhing flesh gathering strength; it wasn’t dazed at all, but preparing a big move!

”Careful...”

The words were hardly finished when the overlord’s abilities activated, the flesh on the tail’s end swelled with Bone Spurs of various sizes, all shot out after a convulsive contraction.

Doomsday!

Countless Bone Spurs covered indiscriminately, with the largest clearly aimed at Junia.

Must admit, the Holy Hall overlord exploited their flaw, everyone thought it was controlled, who’d expect such a sneaky ambush.

Not to mention, the largest Bone Spur was fired, but they overlooked the small ones could too, catching everyone off guard.

Only Lance quickly reacted, pulling out a large shield in front, those dense Bone Spurs clashing against it.

But the others weren’t as lucky.

Last time Lance blocked one for Junia, but this time, though the scattered Bone Spurs weren’t as big, there were more, inevitably injuring the unprepared Junia.

Even armor only slightly obstructed, several Bone Spurs pierced through, exposing their ends on the surface.

Baldwin reacted, giving up the attack, retreating, wielding the broken sword horizontally, shielding his head with the wide blade and arm, but some places were still hit.

His pain tolerance stopped him from crying out, but he could sense the infection of the wounds.

The unluckiest was Barin, likely marked by the Flesh Hound’s attack aura just now, so the largest Bone Spur was aimed at him.

Especially since Barin’s armor was merely Mundane Iron, closer, larger, enduring more attacks.

The largest Bone Spur directly pierced through the chest armor, its end even slightly bulged the back armor, penetrating the body.

The force within the Bone Spur staggered Barin, seconds later breath revealed blood gushing, uncontrollably coughing up blood and shredded flesh, clearly with shattered, severely injured heart and lungs.

Not to mention the tiny Bone Spurs all over, even the helmet had one, damaging the brain was most deadly.

Indeed the situation turned dire rapidly...

Yet Barin’s massive physique didn’t retreat despite his injuries, instead the pain from severe injuries stimulated his wild strength, disregarding his own wounds, evidently playing for keeps.

”Roar!”

With a beast-like roar, he swung his axe, chopping off the Holy Hall overlord’s arm.

But it wasn’t over, the savage strength numbed Barin to pain, even his vanishing life couldn’t stop him from launching fiercer attacks.

Conversely, the Holy Hall overlord had lost an arm, and its tail posed no threat after firing all its Bone Spurs, only a single arm’s pincers to defend.

And Lance caught its predicament, striking in the moment its attention was drawn by Barin.

Severed tail!

Lance disengaged right after, not concerned whether it succeeded, retreating and using Bless and Flesh Reconstruction to heal and save everyone.

Junia, being farther, had fewer Bone Spurs, casually pulling them out, not significantly injured.

Baldwin also promptly raised a hand to pull out a Bone Spur, remaining decay in Lance’s Flesh Reconstruction quickly replaced by new flesh, his wounds rapidly recovering.

”Barin, pull back and retreat! You two hold him down, give me some time.”

Bless calmed Barin’s rage, only the Lord’s command could cool his fury.

Lance acted like a fire chief, pulling up Junia, Baldwin, then rushing over to extract the Bone Spur in Barin’s helmet, first ensuring brain integrity, other injuries, even heart-related for Lance were hardly severe.

Over on Junia’s end, she recovered, began casting Divine Arts supporting Baldwin ahead, lightning struck down, the power feedback from Burning Sanctuary aiding her swift recovery.
