Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1255: Chapter 687: 3

With the death of the Frenzied Cultist, the Ascended cleric who lost its blood bag couldn’t withstand Lance’s few strikes, its tentacles were severed, its head was sliced off, and the sacrificial devouring made the twitching eyes on the tumor futile.

Meanwhile, the other Ascended cleric was already intercepted by Boudica, who craved a powerful opponent so she could completely unleash her frenzy.

The axe spear clashed against the cleric’s claws and tentacles, two fists struggling against four hands, falling behind once trapped in the opponent’s rhythm.

In such a short time, it was evident that Boudica was injured, the incessant bleeding clearly indicating the erosion by evil forces.

This intense melee made it hard for Amanda and her group to intervene, even if they were confident, they had to worry about accidental harm.

Lance blessed and strengthened her, then performed Flesh Reconstruction to soothe the scars, eliminating the power of the wounds, causing the torn and exposed flesh to quickly heal.

At the same time, the surge of powerful energy caused Boudica, who seemed somewhat weak, to erupt.

”Waaagh!!!”

A roar activated the war runes, glowing like fluorescent lights, the contained power accompanied the sound waves impacting the Ascended cleric.

Though the Heretic Priest could endure, it didn’t mean this one could. It instantly exhibited a dazed reaction, clearly intimidated.

Boudica didn’t pause for a bit, making a forward thrust to flick the helmet with the spearhead, then rotated to slightly open the distance.

Taking advantage of the shift in force, she swung the axe spear overhead, and as it fell, the exposed muscles of her arms swelled and knitted into lumps. Her crimson long hair flew wildly, complementing her ferocious visage, looking utterly maniacal.

”Roar!”

Boosted by incredible strength, the speed of the axe spear soared! Intensified! Spiraled!

The irregular axe blade sliced through the air, producing a sound akin to a howl.

The howl ended!

The axe blade chopped down on the Ascended cleric’s disheveled head, slicing it cleanly as if through jelly without the slightest hindrance.

In the blink of an eye, the cleric’s resilient frame, including its skull and chest cavity, was split in two by the mighty strike.

Only the disc at its waist prevented it from being completely severed, but the brute force of the strike stirred the air, dispelling the red mist—it seemed like it was sliced open.

In the eyes of everyone, Boudica swung her axe, and the next second, the upper body of the Ascended cleric was cleaved in half, its body slackened, splitting on both sides, spilling out its contents.

Even a life-force-rich Ascended cleric couldn’t withstand this blow, indicating it hadn’t fully transformed like a Priest, still having human weaknesses.

As long as the attack is strong enough, even a monster transformed by the Patriarch’s blessing dies.

This is the victory of strength!

Boudica, after chopping, didn’t pant heavily but entered a mystical state, feeling herself becoming stronger, breaking through the previous limit she could vaguely sense.

Champion!

”Boss!”

Boudica raised her bloodstained axe spear, eager to share her joy with Lance.

”I know, I know.”

Lance merely smiled reassuringly, having pushed her with blessing and strengthening; how could he not know?

Boudica had followed him for a long time, participating in nearly all battles, her inherent strength accumulation was sufficient, only lacking that final push.

For most, breaking through human limitations requires supernatural power, like Alhazred, twisted by constraints, who fell into the Void Old God’s trap trying to become a Champion, rife with peril and difficulty.

Even organizations with lineage have sparse Champions, often linked with special rituals or items, though stable, they’re still limited.

Talent, strength, luck are indispensable; those reaching this step are one in a million, let alone surpassing Champion for the Legendary.

Imagine the difficulty for those lacking heritage or experience.

That’s why Lance values the Wandering Mage, whose Legendary status is without organizational ties, making him influential to the independent ones.

But it all boils down to the bottleneck halting many, to Lance it’s merely the amount of Spiritual Essence.

If one isn’t enough, then two, if two aren’t enough, then three... As long as one can endure, it will eventually be enough.

Compared to church Divine Arts, his power seems more like them...

Spellcasters or different transcendent paths have varying needs; his blessing of Grendel to Champion took much time, though Boudica, a long-time fighter, endured it more easily.

One might say Boudica had accumulated enough, her fierce battles triggered her power, and Lance was merely facilitating.

Audrey, who stumbled upon mysteries in grave robbing, lacked deep understanding in mysticism or supernatural power, thus felt nothing.

But Amanda sensed it, the power Boudica erupted with had surpassed a certain range, seeming she had broken through.

The only explanation is...

Amanda focused on Lance, clearing the corpses, the undeniable power belonged to the Lord.

From her view, Lance acted upon seeing Boudica injured and at a disadvantage.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t be so easy to break through; for example, she was stuck due to her unique role as Seeker of Omens, though wielding combat power beyond ordinary Transcendent, the struggle to break through meant no future.
