Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1294: Chapter 705: Lighting the Path Ahead (3)_2

Indeed, the power that erupted just now was very obvious, it seems she managed to snatch part of the power from that Saint.

No wonder there was no spiritual essence during the sacrifice just now, now he understands.

The two Priests were slain, the remaining Frenzied Cultist didn’t even resist and fell under the blade of the Honor Guard, the battle seemed almost absurdly easy, contrary to the empty spot Lance had mentioned, the pressure that had been accumulating mysteriously reduced.

Confidence surged like a tide during the enemy’s collapse!

Lance just smiled and urged, ”Let’s crush these monsters!”

Pushing forward with victory, with Lance as a shield, the heroes could swing their weapons without hesitation.

Those cultists were indeed terrifying, but the current team configuration was much stronger than the last time.

Amanda providing support, Audrey was slacking off, only Lance and Boudica stood at the front.

And now? They’re all tough fighters, grab your gear and get the job done.

Encountering Ascension witches trying to cast spells? Junia fiercely imbued with Divine Power, with the steel torch’s blessing, transformed into the fuel for the Holy Flame!

Unexpected events are inevitable in battles, Lance hid in the back buffing them, reducing pressure, healing, also pulling out the heavy crossbow or hand cannon to hit the rear.

But in reality, most of his time was spent collecting the flesh along the way, that’s his true mission, even a little weakening, as long as it’s accumulated, becomes significant.

Where did Lance get so much Spiritual Essence to keep blessing and strengthening them? It’s by devouring the ancestor’s stored pensions.

Devour fiercely, not devouring would be a waste.

They entered a room, Lance immediately shouted, ”Those without a talisman, get out!”

Only Barin among the Honor Guard had one, the remaining four, though unwilling, understood the danger under the Lord’s orders and could only turn around and exit the room.

The only thing that could make Lance react like this was the monster guarding the second-floor altar.

Holy Hall Protector!

The outrageous and bizarre body shape modified by great blessings made it look like a human-scorpion hybrid.

The upper half still vaguely retained muscles akin to those of an Ascension Priest, and that dark golden skull helmet on its head.

From the forearms, it mutated into two dark giant pincers, even more terrifying than the Giant Pincer Tidestealer Lance had seen before, as it’s covered with dense black eyeballs constantly blinking.

The lower half was completely indistinguishable, just a twisted mass of flesh entangled, but strangely lacking tentacles, a sharp mouth or eyeballs, does this prove its transformation is controllable?

The original stomach location lost its muscular shape, but one could vaguely see a huge closed eye in the center.

Further down grew two pairs of sharp lower limbs like those of a scorpion, the mass of flesh extending backward into a scorpion’s tail, but here covered by an exoskeleton-like armor.

The tail’s tip slightly swollen, growing a dark green glowing stinger, emanating an unmistakably evil aura, no one wants to be stung by it.

Yet the Protector’s bizarre form resembled a human-scorpion hybrid, but the two monsters floating behind it were indescribable.

Like a large tumor the size of an adult’s torso, with two membranous flaps fluttering behind it, levitating in the air.

Its front lacked any eyes or facial features, just a grotesque three-cleft mouth full of irregular sharp teeth.

Even more bizarre, the mouth opened splitting up and down, with a circle of sharp teeth on the bottom connected to the lantern-like flesh in the middle.

Hydra Flesh!

Lance didn’t know what this thing had to do with Hydra Flesh, but the moment he saw it, the thought came to mind.

Not giving Lance and the others much time, the battle started the moment they stepped in.

The Holy Hall Protector opened its pincers towards Lance and the others, and the giant eye in its lower abdomen began to slowly open.

Revelation!

Barin’s figure posed the greatest threat, chosen by the Protector, that indescribable aura locked in and descended instantly, barely leaving time to react.

In a moment Barin felt himself fall into a void, a strange purple-black eye in his mind expanding, the more he gazed into its details, his brain felt like it was about to explode.

”Ah!”

Fortunately, the Inflaming Talisman activated, protecting Barin’s soul, yet he couldn’t help but let out a wail.

Soon he shook his head clear, though the impact remained somewhat.

”Barin and Baldwin, you two keep the Protector engaged, Junia and I will quickly deal with those two Hydra Flesh things and come to assist you.”

Lance shouted and charged forward, this shout also awakened Baldwin and Junia.

Lance rushed forward to alarm them, the Hydra Flesh made a move normal humans couldn’t fathom, attacking not with the grotesque mouth, but the flesh on their heads opened up, squeezing out a brain-like green venom sac, compressing to spew a nasty green liquid at them.

Venomous Phlegm!

Yet Lance’s attention wasn’t distracted, dodging easily with his reaction speed, the venomous phlegm landed dissolving a mass of flesh on the ground, terrible to imagine it on a person.

Lance loathed such filthy things most, raising a hand to shoot immediately.

Precision Shot!

The bullet instantly hit the Hydra Flesh’s forehead, the venom sac failing to retract burst upon impact, demonstrating what it means to be a Sharpshooter.

The vile green liquid eruption nearly encased itself, surprisingly the Hydra Flesh corroded itself.

Barin and Baldwin moved into action, simultaneously Junia’s raised hand summoned a lightning strike.

Judgment!

The holy power-charged lightning struck the Hydra Flesh, initially airborne, instantly overheated and fell to the ground, emitting a cooked-like white smoke.

”Switch targets!”

Lance called out, initiating a sacrifice on the fallen Hydra Flesh, truly not wanting to approach the thing, let alone touch it.

Void Devourer erased any trace of the Hydra Flesh’s existence, and Junia’s next lightning killed the one Lance had crippled.

It seemed too powerful, those Hydra Flesh couldn’t even showcase their strength, merely spitting once before being slaughtered.

However, on the other side, things weren’t as simple, the Holy Hall Protector wielded pincers and stinger, locked in a fierce duel with Barin and Baldwin.

Giant pincers against axes and broken swords, evenly matched, with them wary not to get caught, lest the needle stabbed through.

Observing slightly, Lance also charged forward, not going head-on with the Protector, instead circling around, commanding simultaneously.

”Junia, disrupt it!”

With the shout came Junia raising her torch, flames soaring, shooting a beam of light, the Protector raised one pincer blocking the beam, meanwhile, Lance rushed, swinging Wolf Fang.

Tail Sever!

A gleam appeared, directly severing the Protector’s waist-thick tail, the segment fell, the flesh was not torn but cleanly severed under the blade.

┗|｀O′|┛ Aow~~

Even the Holy Hall Protector couldn’t help but howl, abandoning the foes ahead, pincers swung at Lance.

Lance merely evaded it, circling as it turned, losing the poisonous stinger left an unguarded rear, forcing Lance into a running circle.

Yet the others weren’t idle, how could they let such an opening slide?

With a roar, Barin summoned all his strength, swinging an axe into the exposed scorpion body.

Where the ax blade went, armor shattered, flesh mangled, like a steel beast had bitten grotesquely.

Simultaneously Baldwin swung his sword, though wide, the Protector reacted, clamping the broken sword.
