Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 1295: Chapter 706: Lighting the Way Forward (4)

Even when severely injured, the Temple Guardian still had the strength to counterattack, swinging the Giant Pincers backward to force Barin to retreat. The collision with the axe handle didn’t knock him down, but it made him step back a few paces to stabilize.

The Guardian’s attack showed no sign of stopping, suddenly erupting and charging straight toward Baldwin.

The size difference between the two was obvious, and even though Baldwin raised the broken sword horizontally in front, he could hardly withstand the terrifying power of the Temple Guardian’s onslaught, being directly knocked away.

As it charged ahead with Baldwin, creating some distance, Lance could no longer play around with the Guardian. He reached for a thick, long item in his hand, about two meters long, the Armor-Piercing Whale Horn, and quickly rushed forward, thrusting it from behind.

Under its piercing strength, nothing flesh-and-blood could block its path; Lance barely exerted effort, and the entire horn easily penetrated.

The Temple Guardian didn’t need food; its body is a mass of flesh, making it hardly vulnerable to backdoor blows. But when that spiral tip emerged from the large eye in its abdomen, it meant the Whale Horn had pierced through, causing the injury to drive it into frenzy.

Lance pulled the horn out and dashed away, the Temple Guardian’s hatred shifted from Baldwin, and it charged madly toward Lance, swinging its large pincers.

The rapid attack from the pincers was challenging even for Lance, as the Wolf Fang’s sharpness was meant for slicing, not for frontal assault.

Fortunately, the tail was severed entirely; otherwise, it’d be even more troublesome.

But Lance was not alone here; Junia unleashed her long-accumulated power, the intense Holy Light seemed to ignite the bloody mist, suddenly interrupting the Guardian’s actions.

Meanwhile, Barin raised his arm and shoulder to launch a charge, gathering momentum from a distance, with his massive figure like a locomotive, crashing into the Guardian’s side.

Iron Mountain Lean!

With a muffled thud, the Temple Guardian was truly overturned by brute force, rolling a certain distance.

And Lance finally had time to initiate Flesh Reconstruction, pulling Baldwin up from the ground. It seemed his injuries weren’t severe, as his armor absorbed most of the force.

The Temple Guardian had incredibly thick blood; so many attacks couldn’t kill it. Its peculiar structure of entwined flesh allowed it to absorb most damage and maintain combat capability.

Lance didn’t waste words, directly casting Bless on the others, and they started a group assault.

”Its large size makes it hard to change direction; circle around it and pull at it.”

”Hit its legs, severing limbs will prevent it from turning around.”

”...”

The group’s cooperation gradually improved as they fought, even taunting the poor Guardian.

One distracted the Guardian at the front while the other two flanked it; no matter which way the Guardian turned, it’d expose a flaw.

For ranged attacks, Junia occasionally cast spells, allowing the other three to seize the opportunity to strike.

This strategy’s key was the severed tail, removing its means of attack; otherwise, they wouldn’t be calm, as the agile needle would doom anyone attempting to circle behind.

That’s why, no matter how formidable the opponent, Lance wasn’t too afraid because he could always find a weakness and drag it into his rhythm.

The scariest thing was when the number increased, making oneself the target of a group assault.

In just a few rounds, the Guardian tried various methods to break the stalemate, but whether Inspiration or Charges proved futile. Even if someone encountered problems, the other two could support and pull through.

The Temple Guardian unleashed Inspiration recklessly, but this move was blocked by the Inflaming Talisman, leaving it with no other means.

Baldwin fell back momentarily to adjust after taking a hit; Lance stepped up to confront it head-on. The Guardian truly had no other means as one of its arms was severed, making its movements increasingly sluggish.

The only thing it could rely on was the power it didn’t possess, the bleeding broken eye opening wide.

Inspiration!

One should know that Lance didn’t have an Inflaming Talisman; once targeted by it, his movements suddenly paused, just standing before the Guardian.

However, suddenly he looked up at the Guardian and asked quietly.

”I’m waiting for artillery; what are you waiting for?”

That hand cannon somehow fell into his grasp, and while speaking, he directly hugged the barrel and thrust forward.

Point-blank artillery strike!

At this distance, there’s no room to evade. As the fuse burned out, it immediately unleashed.

The shell, carrying wild power, slammed into the large eyeball, directly blasting it apart, even penetrating into the body, shredding the entwined flesh.

No matter how thick the blood, it couldn’t withstand such an injury; the Temple Guardian’s massive body fell completely with this blast.

With so many experts fighting for so long, Lance felt it’d be challenging to solo it, as the Guardian’s attack methods were diverse, quick, powerful, and had strong recovery abilities.

But everything was over now...

He called back the other four trusted aides; they hadn’t encountered any danger, helmets concealing their concerns.

Nonetheless, the chaotic scene and the fallen monsters on the ground, along with the exhaustion of everyone, revealed the intense battle that had just occurred.

Lance dared not hesitate, quickly commencing the sacrifice, offering up all the chaos.

Until void entirely erased its traces, only then did Lance slightly breathe a sigh of relief.

But now wasn’t the time to rest; he turned to search amid the collapsed giant stone columns and twisted flesh-filled room, soon discovering the peculiar altar.
