I AM the Football Star

No one can be caught between Bar?a and local factions.

Not even Mr. Golden Ball Moreira!

Lu Yang obviously can’t either.

However, Lu Yang showed no signs of fear and directly said: ”Because you were the only one in that match capable of changing the situation and score, yet for various reasons, you chose not to stand out!”

”When Moreira didn’t play, Mateo alone couldn’t accomplish a single-point breakthrough.”

”Bar?a seemed to be in a desperate situation, but I know you, Valle Ortiz, have the ability to act as a secondary core to share the pressure with Mateo!”

”You may not be the strongest midfielder in the world at dribbling forward to tear apart the opponent’s defense, but... it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to include you among them.”

”Within five meters, your dribbling efficiency isn’t much worse than Mateo and Moreira!”

Lu Yang’s words were shocking!

Everyone present fell into silence.

Ortiz’s breakthrough is actually quite strong, and many people in the team know it.

But nobody ever thought to compare Ortiz with Mateo.

Because Ortiz is a midfielder, while Mateo is the team’s spearhead, they are fundamentally incomparable.

Moreover... the last person to be compared to Mateo was overshadowed by him and then left Bar?a.

When it comes to dribbling breakthroughs, nobody at Bar?a can be stronger than Mateo.

And if you want to be compared to Mateo, the consequence is that the loser might leave the team.

Ortiz could never leave Bar?a, so he always avoids being compared to Mateo.

In most matches, Bar?a doesn’t need two breakout points.

Moreira + Mateo is a huge waste.

But the match against Real Madrid made everyone realize that when Mateo can’t settle the battle alone, Bar?a indeed needs a second person to stand out.

As the conversation was heading towards a sensitive direction, Gudiola spoke up: ”Alright, everyone should go back now and get some rest. Don’t be late for tomorrow’s training. I don’t want to lose in the friendly match the day after tomorrow!”

Enriquez, Kahn, Canisell, Pirola, and others left one after another.

They indeed didn’t dare to stay longer.

From Lu Yang’s words, there seems to be rivalry between the previously very close local faction and Mateo?

This is...

Too surprising!

Knowing too much might not be a good thing.

After everyone left, Gudiola finally spoke: ”Indeed, Ortiz... You are different from Moreira. Moreira and Mateo overlap completely, so only one of them can stay.”

”But you are a midfielder. When Mateo can settle the battle, you can play the role well as a passer without affecting the tactics and Mateo’s performance.”

”When he needs you to stand out, you can stand out. You are different from Moreira, you won’t suffer any damage because your ultimate efficiency is lower than Mateo’s.”

”On the contrary, you will become yet another indispensable player for Bar?a’s frontline!”

”But why didn’t you stand out to prevent disaster in that match?”

How could anyone refuse such an opportunity?

Ortiz did not respond.

He had his own difficulties.

This point is hard to convey directly to others.

Lu Yang smiled.

Gudiola looked at Lu Yang.

Lu Yang sarcastically said: ”Because he is like a high-ranking official, unwilling to be the king!”

The next moment, Ortiz’s expression dramatically changed.

Ortiz, who always remained calm and steady as a rock, never showed such intense emotional change.

Even when he scored the decisive winning goal in a match.

His and Hernandez’s mindset had always been constant.

But now, his mindset was shattered.

Because Lu Yang... hit the mark!

Ortiz has already become one of the indispensable core players in Bar?a’s midfield.

If he further becomes an indispensable player in the frontline, then who would be more important, him or Mateo?

And the key point... Although Hernandez is also a midfield core and indispensable, he’s more about control, orchestration, and organization.

While Ortiz often initiates attacks and plays the final pass.

His assist numbers are very high.

Last year, he was the assistant king in La Liga.

If he also had a large number of goals, then a 20+20 statistic would not be surprising on him, 30+20 would also be possible.

By then, in terms of performance, he wouldn’t lose to Mateo.

In terms of stats, he wouldn’t lose either, might even be slightly better!

Mateo is Argentine, Ortiz is Spanish!

They are both children of the La Masia Youth Training Camp.

Every place definitely has the concept of favoritism.

Under equal conditions, whether it’s Barcelona or Spain, they’d absolutely prefer to see the king of Bar?a be Iniesta rather than Argentina’s eagle.

But kings will wither!

Kings will be coerced by high-ranking officials!

The king can win the Golden Ball Award in the future, but the king can also be kicked out by Bar?a.

But high-ranking officials won’t.

Ortiz’s dual intelligence is extremely high. At the age of twenty-six or twenty-seven, he already understood the game between kings and high-ranking officials.

He doesn’t need to look down from the peak; he just wants to always have the power to choose and decide.

The sword hides its edge.

Ortiz has refused multiple times to move his position forward.

He is a midfielder, not an attacking midfielder, let alone a false nine or a shadow striker.

”I can solve such troubles for you.” Lu Yang stood up and walked over to Ortiz, saying, ”With me here, you just need to be responsible for passing. I can be another super breakthrough point for Bar?a.”

Ortiz also stood up. Although he was much shorter in stature, his aura wasn’t overpowered by Lu Yang: ”Congratulations on gaining a tactical position in Bar?a in this way. You are very clever, so I hope your feet are as sharp as your tongue.”
