I AM the Football Star

”Stingy Boss Finally Bleeds, Can 49 Million Secure Morici?”

”Your Desperate Gamble is No Sweating Effort for Others! Manchester City Can Offer More Than Arsenal!”

...

Beep beep beep!

Lu Yang’s phone rang.

It was Morici calling.

Lu Yang answered with a smile.

”Hi, Brother Lu Yang!” The first to speak was indeed Emma, Morici’s sister.

”Get lost, I’m discussing serious matters with Lu Yang!” Morici pushed Emma away with a slap and said, ”Mr. Winter mentioned that you think I’m more suited for Arsenal?”

Lu Yang neither agreed nor disagreed: ”That’s indeed true.”

Morici replied, ”But the whole world thinks I’m suited for Bar?a.”

Lu Yang: ”But there’s no spot for you at Bar?a, and...you’d only be buried there. The only ones qualified to deliver surgical passes at Bar?a are Hernandez and Ortiz.”

”Neither Mateo nor the former Moreira had such privileges during their reigns as Bar?a emperors in the organizing phase.”

Morici: ”What about Tottenham? They want to build the team around me and have already assembled players most suitable for me.”

Lu Yang shook his head: ”It’s not enough! Ilic is only a lower-tier star among top strikers, and Ah Meng doesn’t even qualify. Chaloba is just an ordinary planet-level center-back.”

”Tottenham’s overall squad strength is too weak. Going there means you’d struggle a lot and, at best, lead the team to fight for European Competition qualification. Nothing more can be achieved!”

Morici boasted: ”But if Tottenham shows enough sincerity, I’m willing to fight with them for a few years, and trophies aren’t everything. I’ve already won enough trophies!”

”They contacted me privately, saying they could offer over 50 million in transfer fees, but that’s their limit.”

Lu Yang kept shaking his head: ”But that’s only if Tottenham is willing to accept not winning any trophies! Their expectations for you are too high; they want you to bring home a Champions League trophy for Tottenham, not just make it to the European Competition Zone!”

”Under such assumptions, even if you perform phenomenally, they’ll still blame you in the end. This kind of combination won’t end well.”

”The more passionately they pursue you now, the more decisively they’ll abandon you in the future. Or perhaps...once you go, you might never leave in your lifetime? Have you thought about that?”

It must be said, Morici was a bit scared by Lu Yang’s words.

He did plan to endure poverty and share prosperity with Tottenham.

But he’s only twenty; he hasn’t prepared to spend the next fifteen years with just one team.

He positioned himself to find a suitable team to give his all in the next two to five years. Then, once he’s fully matured, he dreams of playing in one of the world’s top tier clubs.

As a star who became famous at a young age, not heading to Real Madrid to be the boss, to Bar?a as the core, to Manchester United as the savior, or to Bayern as the father... wouldn’t that be a wasted journey?

How could he be satisfied?

Of course, if the age is right and the opportunity is gone, there’s no need to force it.

This is about making different choices based on different conditions.

Given Morici’s current conditions... he qualified to dream of being the number one in world football!

Morici said, ”What about Real Madrid? Going all the way at once!”

Lu Yang: ”Do you believe it yourself? Real Madrid is just playing around; you might not even get opportunities on the field. Just go to Arsenal obediently, and you might have the chance to shine!”

”Mr. Winter really is a good coach; he can fully develop your offensive talents. Honestly, these past two years, your progress has been a bit slow.”

”This isn’t your fault, but rather because San Remo’s overall forward line and attacking tactics aren’t up to scratch, including mine.”

”At Arsenal, you’ll have a group of top attacking players and talented players to spar with. Feeding them your passes, you’ll hone your quick passing and understanding of attack to the extreme!”

Simply put, with only Lu Yang, Morici couldn’t fully unleash his talent for assisting.

He can satisfy multiple forwards simultaneously.

His greatest strength as an engine is the ability to deal passes at an ultimate speed and quickly choose the optimal target among multiple options.

Without utilizing this strength, Morici would just be a first-rate midfielder, hard to reach top-level status, let alone historical and phenomenal levels.

Collette is slightly better than Morici in terms of controlling the field and precision in footwork.

With Lu Yang’s analysis, Morici basically saw his future.

But he still arrogantly stated, ”But I don’t want to join a championship-level team directly; otherwise, wouldn’t you lose your chances to win a title?”

”And if we do win, who takes credit? I wouldn’t want others saying I joined Arsenal just to snag a trophy. I’ve heard enough of that in San Remo!”

The debate over who was the greatest contributor to the San Remo miracle seemed undisputed.

But occasionally, some ”football experts” would arrogantly tell everyone that Lu Yang was nothing and Morici was the real deal.

Although Morici knew these people were talking nonsense, it did make him happy.

Even though Lu Yang was fine with it, Morici couldn’t compete with his best buddy.

Once away from Lu Yang, Morici wouldn’t hold back a single bit.

In this world, besides Lu Yang, no one else deserves Morici to dim his brilliance!

Lu Yang laughed heartily: ”Brother, I suggest you prepare well to fight for fourth place! After all, it’s Arsenal!”

The two happily hung up the phone.

The next day, the front pages of major media outlets around the world were flooded.
