I AM the Football Star

Chapter 1222: Chapter 289: Me? None of You Can Compete!

Italy winning the European Cup after ten years is a miracle.

But the most economically valuable aspect is actually the free kick worth one hundred million euros by Lu Yang that carried Italy into the European Cup!

The current value of the Sanremo Miracle is being calculated by people.

The premium of the San Remo players’ transfers is all attributable to this miracle.

The value of the San Remo Club itself is also due to it; previously, they had almost no value.

The rise in influence of Serie A, the increased commercial value of the Italian Cup, the increased value of the Sanremo Music Festival, and the gradually strengthening football atmosphere in the mainland are all part of it.

The direct value of the Sanremo Miracle exceeds five hundred million!

And the indirect value is incalculable.

Because once China’s football market is formed and developed, it may likely become the largest football economic center outside of Europe!

In other words, the largest football market in the world!

Hundreds of billions for sure!

Twenty-four hours have passed, and Barça still has no players on social platforms saying anything about welcoming Lu Yang.

The news of the transfer published by Barça’s official channels has also not received any likes from them.

The attitude is very clear.

No one welcomes Lu Yang.

He destroyed the balance that belonged to Barcelona.

It’s just that no player wants to be the standout voice.

Everyone is waiting for an opportunity, a chance to voice all their dissatisfaction with this deal, with the club, with Lu Yang.

This sentiment is easily understandable.

Your boss hired a newcomer with much less experience than you, at a salary dozens of times yours!

What do you think?

Lu Yang completely understands this sentiment, so he doesn’t take it to heart.

Moreover, the contract he has with Barça isn’t as delightful as everyone imagines.

Regarding Barça’s supplementary clauses, Lu Yang discussed with Barça and eventually some changes were made.

The agreement states that if the team wins the Champions League or if Lu Yang appears in fewer than thirty matches in the season, both parties can freely terminate the contract.

This changed from only Barça having the termination rights to now including Lu Yang, making it seem more fair.

This also reflects Barça’s positioning of Lu Yang.

A super mercenary, not a king!

Because if Barça can win the Champions League, it means they have already reached their peak.

After all, Lu Yang can’t possibly be stronger than Moreira, who is already one of the pinnacles of individual player strength.

And Moreira+Barça could only reach the semi-finals and quarter-finals of the Champions League, so if Barça wins, it can only prove that the Barça team has undergone a qualitative change.

By then Lu Yang can leave entirely, and Barça might even want to send him away.

Because Lu Yang is indeed too expensive, so expensive that every day he stays at Barça disrupts the friendship and balance of Barça.

As for the appearance clause for termination, it’s easier to understand, it’s to prevent Lu Yang from underperforming.

The clause also states if it’s the former situation, regardless of who proposes the termination, Barça needs to pay Lu Yang a twenty million euro Champions League winning bonus.

This is also why Lu Yang’s Champions League winning bonus column states twenty million euros.

It was previously ten million but Lu Yang negotiated it to twenty million in this way.

If it’s the latter situation, regardless of who proposes the termination, Barça can withhold all of Lu Yang’s income through the team for that season.

Salaries, bonuses, portrait rights share, jersey sales share, nothing needs to be paid!

Not a single penny.

Lastly, if Lu Yang meets the required number of appearances, but the team does not win one of the four major trophies, namely the Champions League, Europa League, league, or King’s Cup, all of Lu Yang’s income for that season will be halved.

If you look at the terms completely, do you still think Barça is at a loss?

At least it’s certainly not amounting to what many people call squandering Barça’s future.

If Barça is lucky, winning the Champions League within three years, it can be said that spending a big sum accomplished something big, both Barça and Lu Yang would be happy.

If they stumble and occasionally win other championships, at the very least it slightly improves Barça rather than regresses. Spending a big amount can be justified, and by that time, using fees for Lu Yang would not be much more than Izalelt’s.

The top player of Serie A, the king of miracles, isn’t worth this price?

Of course, he is!

The worst situation, Barça five years without a championship!

But by then, more desperate than Barça is Lu Yang, who wouldn’t have any income for five years!

In this way, measuring against Lu Yang’s salary level as a top player in Serie A, it’s as if none of Lu Yang’s transfer fees were paid by Barça!

Because using players like Gutierrez, Izalelt, Lu Yang requires at least a ten million euro expenditure annually.

Salaries are only about half of these super players’ income, they have many other aspects of revenue sharing.

So in fact, Rosmei is really quite good.

A double win, a double tie, Barça loses a little, Lu Yang loses big… In any situation, Barça doesn’t lose.

This is also why after signing Lu Yang, Rosmei’s position was immediately stabilized.

At least the top level of Barça can only give him a thumbs up, it’s temporarily impossible to overthrow him.

But this complex account and its nuances are not easily disclosed to the outside world.

Of course, the four major trophies mentioned earlier do not include the Spanish Super Cup.

Barça doesn’t care for this trophy.

Although this trophy is contested by the previous season’s King’s Cup champion and the La Liga champion, if the league champion and King’s Cup champion are the same team, then the King’s Cup runner-up competes instead.
