I AM the Football Star

”Of course it’s true... I’m really looking forward to working together, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the skies over Europe turn blue!”

Gudiola was extremely excited.

Screw this, I’m done playing with idiots!

I’m done grinding!

I’m going to hang out with rich guys!

Sure enough, once the news was confirmed, the whole internet roasted Barcelona’s offer.

Before this, everyone said Morici was too arrogant.

Now everyone rushed to leave messages for Morici, saying he actually has a really good temper!

Something like this, and he didn’t start cursing right away.

Time to bring out the national art of cursing!

And Arsenal, who’ve always had beef with Barça, immediately jumped in to stomp on them.

”Thirty million euros! Arsenal bid for Morici!”

”Mr. Winter: There is no team more suitable for Morici than Arsenal!”

”Arsenal: We are willing to offer Morici a Premier League top salary!”

Arsenal’s transfer bid wasn’t exactly sky‑high, but Thirty million was basically enough to start serious talks about Morici’s transfer.

Besides, Arsenal said they could give Morici a top salary.

At this point, as long as Morici nodded, the deal was definitely going through.

San Remo would never put up obstacles to Morici’s transfer.

But Morici chose to play it safe, because he still hoped to bring San Remo a higher transfer fee.

Also... even though transfer fees don’t directly benefit the player right now, they do prove a player’s status and level of clout.

This has a huge impact on how a player is treated after joining a new team, and it’s very different from later transfer fees down the line.

So even if the salary’s a bit lower, the transfer fee really can’t be too low these couple of years.

Especially if you plan on being a core player.

Facing Arsenal’s meddling, Barça’s official mouthpiece, Daily Sports Report, said: ”Shameless bragging! Arsenal is absolutely not the team most suitable for Morici, Winter has misjudged both his team and Morici!”

Winter replied: ”You can deny my judgment, but you can’t deny this judgment, because it wasn’t made by me.”

Daily Sports Report: ”So who has more authority to speak on this matter than Mr. Winter? A Head Coach who can’t accurately judge his own team and players is not an excellent Head Coach, even if he has been successful before.”

Winter laughed: ”That line was something Lu Yang told me.”

Daily Sports Report, dead!

Lu Yang?

You mean the same Advisor Lu who convinced Mr. Winter to buy Nelka, that gold‑digging wanderer everyone thought was washed up, and then Nelka went and played like he’d turned back the clock to his peak in this season’s Premier League?

The same Lu Zhuge who strongly recommended Arsenal loan Real Madrid’s bench‑warming midfielder Collette, which led to Arsenal going on a crazy points run in the second half of the season and storming to the Premier League title?

When it comes to advising Arsenal, Lu Yang has a ton of authority.

And he really might be the person in this world who understands Morici best.

If he says it’s a good fit, it probably really is a good fit.

These comments will have a decisive impact on Morici’s transfer.

So, why does Arsenal want to buy Morici?

Is it just to piss off Barça?

Don’t they already have Collette?

And doesn’t he fit them like a glove?

This... is where Arsenal turned around and ripped into Real Madrid.

As soon as the season ended, they put in a sincere Thirty million euros bid for Collette.

You have to understand, Collette basically didn’t play a single real game for Real Madrid.

His total playing time adds up to less than thirty minutes, and he never started once!

That’s basically the same as not having played!

How much did Real Madrid pay to buy Collette?

A bargain‑bin Fifteen Million!

In a single year, without any extra investment, he turned into Thirty million euros!

If they sold him, the profit would be completely acceptable, you could even say it’d be a sweet deal.

But Real Madrid said no!

They refused to sell!

They’re not short on money, they’re short on good players.

As long as Collette can play, Real Madrid are happy to hold on to him.

If he can drag an Arsenal side outside the top four into a fourteen‑game winning streak and to the Premier League title, Collette is that useful, so why on earth would we sell him?

Fine, if Real Madrid won’t sell, Arsenal said, how about we keep him on loan?

Real Madrid smiled faintly, like, do we look like some rich idiot’s son?

After the way Collette just played, next season he has to be an important rotation player for Real Madrid.

Loan your ass!

Arsenal were furious, and that’s when Winter remembered his previous conversation with Lu Yang, which is why he turned his gaze to Morici.

From a technical standpoint, Collette and Morici aren’t exactly the same type.

Collette is actually stronger at organizing and controlling the tempo, and his passing technique is a bit more precise.

But... Morici’s quick passing and shooting is just insanely perfect for Arsenal’s pass‑and‑move style!

If an average team has around twenty attacking moves per game.

Then with this Arsenal squad and their style, that number can be pushed to thirty! That’s the role Collette plays.

And Morici... can bump that number up another ten!
