I AM the Football Star

Moreira’s speech moved everyone deeply, causing several reporters to cry.

This boy, who always liked to smile with his protruding teeth, had never been so sad.

For a moment, everyone was criticizing Barça.

”Oh my God! Barça is too shady!”

”It’s not Barça, it’s the upper management of Barça, it’s Barça’s president, Maria Rosell! He always disliked Moreira, he only likes players from Catalonia!”

”Too narrow-minded! I didn’t expect even Moreira could be criticized!”

”To be fair, Moreira’s form did decline this season, but it has a lot to do with the changes in the team strategy, he shouldn’t bear the blame alone!”

”With Moreira, it’s 1-2, without Moreira, it’s 0-5, how can Moreira be criticized?”

”The new king ascends at Barça, the old king naturally gets exiled.”

”It’s a pity, Moreira helped Mateo so much, yet he gets treated like this.”

The discussion turned towards Barça president Rosell and Barça’s new king Mateo.

Mateo immediately responded: ”It’s regrettable that such things happened. Moreira is my forever mentor, he taught me how to integrate into Barça, how to play my role in top matches.”

”If I could decide, I would rather be the one leaving, not Moreira.”

”No matter how things develop, my feelings for Moreira will never change!”

Mateo’s statement somewhat reduced the criticisms.

Because Moreira liked his statement, which indicated Moreira acknowledged what Mateo said.

Their relationship was indeed good.

Moreover, through Mateo’s speech, it can be known that during Barça’s generation replacement, neither the old king nor the new king had autonomy.

They were both compelled.

Either compelled by Rosell, or the local faction within the team.

Of course, people’s positions are different.

Similarly arranged, Mateo received better treatment, hence he naturally had no reason to oppose the team’s arrangements.

It’s not about being hypocritical.

Faced with relocation, you and I at that position would mostly be like Mateo, sighing at a good friend’s plight yet powerless.

If two of your good friends fall apart, but both treat you well, would you therefore break with one of them?

Thus, the intricacies of these matters are truly unspeakable.

However, once Mateo distanced himself, Rosell faced immense pressure.

Much more than he anticipated.

Because Barça fans are actually preparing to launch an impeachment process, aiming to oust Rosell!

Of course, Rosell is not easily scared.

He instructed his subordinates to proceed as usual without worrying about these unfounded threats.

Impeachment?

Who can’t utter some threatening words?

Thus, Barça continued their transfer dealings, selling this season’s poorly performing homegrown central forward Ramon Berna for Ten Million to their sibling club, the Spanish.

In reality, is Barça’s current lineup really lacking players?

Not at all!

Perhaps forward, midfield, and defense still need some good substitutes, but Barça’s philosophy is rather have none than something inferior.

Are Gutierrez, Izalelt, and Talista good?

Yes!

But Barça doesn’t need them because their style is different and can’t be forced to integrate.

Barça now looks down on the market’s players.

The Premier League is too coarse, Bundesliga too rigid, Ligue 1 too watered down, Serie A is okay.

Like Morici is nice.

Actually, Canyes is an option too, but Liverpool acted too fast.

That player Bayern considers valuable, Melcan, seems to Barça just a mediocre laborer, worth at most Twenty Million.

Yet in reality, Melcan’s value is approximately Thirty-five to Forty Million!

It’s not like Barça, similar to Bayern, applies a fifty percent discount filter when buying.

But because for Barça, Melcan’s effective parts match this valuation.

The rest, such as his height of 1.89 meters, strong build, excellent running ability, and versatile midfield role don’t produce much impact at Barça.

It’s not Barça’s priority, so Barça naturally won’t offer a high price.

Hence, similarly, Barça did not give a high valuation to Morici even though they like him.

Morici’s most crucial quick passing and shooting ability happens to be something Barça doesn’t need much.

In fact, Barça’s system opposes the emergence of such quick passing and shooting ability.

Barça’s passing itself is very controlling.

Hernandez’s distribution, Ortiz’s deadly pass, are already very threatening.

No need for Morici’s type to relinquish control of the ball from the team with quick passes.

Barça doesn’t favor long passes, even during the distribution phase.

Also, Barça’s position for Morici is primarily a rotation player, after all, Morici can’t immediately become a starter. Barça’s gameplay is very complex, nobody can immediately adapt.

Rotation is the best adaptation method.

Even Mateo had to rotate for over a year before becoming the team’s regular starter.

Moreover, compared to midfield, Barça now wants to find a forward meeting their demands more.

Regarding this, Gudiola and the team management have disagreements.

”What forwards? We don’t need forwards now! What are forwards for? Scoring? If Mateo’s scoring isn’t enough? Mancini’s goal-scoring ability isn’t poor either!” Gudiola doesn’t understand why those people insist on using outdated concepts to dictate his coaching.
