I AM the Football Star

”In theory, players capable of playing multiple positions do not exist.”

”Some players can play in various positions in the backfield, but actually, no matter where they play, they tend to play as if they were in their original position. Defensive midfielder, defensive center midfielder, fullback, center back... they all play like fullbacks. This is a potential risk.”

”Therefore, to truly apply the theory of role-switching players, compromises must be made.”

”For example, when Canisell plays the defensive midfielder position, we don’t require him to do all the work of a defensive midfielder. Because at that time, our lineup is usually pressing forward aggressively, in full attack mode.”

”At that moment, what we require of him is more about utilizing passes to exploit the gaps created in the front field due to numerical advantage.”

”This ability, as a right-back with good crossing, Canisell can provide and excel at.”

After Lu Yang finished speaking, he looked at Ortiz and said, ”Actually, although Ortiz is a midfielder, his playing style is thoroughly an attacking central midfielder, or even... a shadow striker and wing shadow striker!”

”That’s why he performs so well as a left winger in the Spain National Team.”

”He’s still himself, with his style, he doesn’t need to change, and naturally, he can adapt and effortlessly bring out his full potential!”

Ortiz’s expression subtly changed.

This Lu Yang... is truly a Tactical Master!

He even saw through this!

Never underestimate the importance of this insight.

Among top players, some immediately transform into world-famous coaches after retirement, while others can only serve as spiritual pillars to stabilize the locker room.

The reason lies in their different levels of understanding of tactics and situations.

The gap began during their playing days.

With the same tactical positioning, Bai Zhami always relied on his feet to move.

But Morici and Lu Yang usually relied on their minds to move.

Why does Morici have so many assists?

Is it because others can’t pass to Lu Yang?

No!

It’s because Morici has a high level of tactical understanding, he always sees opportunities others can’t, making his passes particularly sharp and imaginative.

What is imagination?

Are good-looking passes considered imagination?

No, that’s a misunderstanding of imagination.

True passing imagination is being able to envision all players’ positions in the next three to five seconds, then choosing a plan that makes it easier for the forward to receive the ball.

Imagination on the football field is related to your understanding of football’s fundamental aspects.

Others may not exactly follow your predicted movements, but it only means your considerations are not comprehensive enough, your understanding is not thorough enough, and you haven’t detected others possibly counter-running from their eyes or subtle movements.

Shooting imagination is the same.

Only by mastering all shooting methods, can you choose the most correct method in critical moments.

Only by mastering all dribbling methods, can you decide whether to go past from the left, right, or even above.

Ortiz nodded, acknowledging Lu Yang’s point.

At the same time, he thought, no wonder Lu Yang’s creative goals and passes are so frequent, it’s definitely not a coincidence.

His understanding of football is far stronger than the ability he currently shows.

”So what do you think was the problem in the game last season when we were defeated 5-0 by Real Madrid?” Ortiz asked.

Many were stunned.

That was a notorious match of shame for Bar?a.

It’s a topic that’s never brought up voluntarily.

What’s up with Ortiz?

Gudiola looked at Ortiz, his eyes glittering with insight.

Ortiz’s understanding of football also exceeded Gudiola’s expectations.

It seems Ortiz has realized the real problem in that match himself.

This issue probably troubled him for a long time.

Perhaps he and Hernandez have already discussed it and reached a conclusion.

Next, it’s up to Lu Yang to see if he also recognized it.

If Lu Yang can see it, then the biggest issue in integrating into Bar?a’s system is virtually resolved.

This team’s star is Mateo.

The locker room leader is Mebarak.

But on the field, everything is dictated by performance and results.

And the true controllers of the Camp Nou pitch are neither Mateo nor Mebarak, but... Ortiz and Hernandez!

”Are you sure you want me to speak up? You should know that once something is set in motion, it can’t be undone!” Lu Yang smiled at Ortiz, ”Are you really ready?”

Sweat beaded on Pirola’s forehead as he frantically pretended to eat, nearly to the point of nausea.

This... cannot the bosses make the atmosphere so tense?

Why does it feel like everyone needs to outdo the speaker before them?

Can’t we just have a good conversation?

”Speak!” Ortiz took a sip of white wine, his pale face quickly turning red.

Lu Yang pointed at Ortiz and said, ”You! You’re the biggest problem! In that 5-0 defeat, you should bear 90% of the responsibility!”

Crash!

Not only was Pirola startled, but even Canisell dropped his drink, shattering it on the ground.

Lu Yang is truly at odds with the local faction.

He just spoke up for me, am I going to be blacklisted by the local faction?

Canisell turned green.

Pirola leaned hopelessly against his chair back.

GG! Looks like I’ll never play again in this life, and perhaps soon, Bar?a will trade me out?
