I AM the Football Star

Maybe because they’d completely given up on Lu Yang, Manchester United then spent 22 million euros to bring goalkeeper Areola over from San Remo.

Total spending: 130 million euros!

This was their most heavily invested transfer window in recent years.

Manchester United’s goalkeepers aren’t bad, but they’re getting old; they need an excellent successor.

Areola has pretty much been the most outstanding young goalkeeper in the past few years.

This 22 million euros price tag is purely because goalkeepers just don’t sell for big money at this stage.

If San Remo could’ve held on to Areola for more than five years, his value wouldn’t be less than 60 million!

Of course, there’s no way San Remo could’ve kept their grip on Areola that long, and Areola himself wouldn’t be willing either.

This summer window, San Remo’s stance was simple: sell!

Most of San Remo’s players also want to leave.

So the club and the players reached a special kind of tacit understanding.

The club cashes in, the players head to big clubs with limitless futures, everyone’s happy.

Beep, beep, beep!

Lu Yang’s phone rang.

”Hey, Jelang, long time no see!” The call Lu Yang received was from Red Army Liverpool captain Jelang.

At such a delicate moment, who’d believe this call didn’t have some hidden agenda?

But playing the emotional card is also a killer move during the transfer window.

Recently you have Aguero joining Barça at all costs for Messi; earlier you had James inviting Bosh and Wade to Miami to play brotherhood basketball.

Fans have every reason to believe the era of brotherhood football isn’t far off either.

”Lu! I’ve got something I need your help with, and you have to help me!” Jelang started.

In fact, Jelang and Lu Yang hadn’t had that much interaction.

But sometimes men’s friendships just appear out of nowhere like that.

Ever since Jelang said that the miracle in Istanbul was brought to Liverpool by the ”Lu Yang spirit,” he’d become one of Lu Yang’s best friends.

This is someone worth befriending.

”Go ahead.” Lu Yang actually knew what Jelang was going to ask.

Sure enough.

Jelang said, ”Do you... have any possibility of joining Liverpool?”

After thinking for a moment, Lu Yang asked, ”Who else are you looking at? I can help you analyze it.”

Jelang didn’t hesitate; he trusted Lu Yang completely: ”We’re also looking at Canyes and Bai Zhami. Their styles and technical characteristics are exactly what Liverpool needs.”

”But you’re our first choice. If you’re willing to join, Liverpool can even scrape together a bit more money!”

The implication was basically that even if they had to tear apart half the team, they’d still try to get Lu Yang.

But likewise, Liverpool probably wouldn’t have enough left to also bring in Lu Yang, Canyes, and Bai Zhami at the same time.

Unfortunately...

Lu Yang said, ”Go get Canyes and Bai Zhami. They won’t let Liverpool’s fans down!”

Jelang froze for a moment, then sighed.

Lu Yang wasn’t coming to Liverpool.

So in the Premier League... there weren’t many teams left with a shot at landing Lu Yang.

Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool had all withdrawn in turn.

In terms of strength and how much attention they’d paid to Lu Yang, that left basically Manchester City, Tottenham, and Arsenal with a chance.

Tottenham’s chances were very slim.

As for Arsenal, unless the Rams dissolved or Mr. Winter dismantled the Gunners, it’d be hard for them to get a big transfer budget.

As for Manchester City...

Are the rich Blue Moon finally going to join the Premier League title fight?

That afternoon, Liverpool officially announced a 32 million euros signing of San Remo flying winger Canyes!

And 315 million euros to sign Bai Zhami, the fastest young player in Serie A!

A left winger and a right-back; Liverpool’s squad was complete, and they declared themselves out of the race for Lu Yang!

The Premier League media were in an uproar!

Another one dropped out!

Come on, Premier League tycoons, put some muscle into it and bring Lu Yang to the Premier League.

Otherwise, where are we supposed to get first-hand news and information on Lu Yang in the future?

We can’t rely on the Sun Newspaper for everything.

Though this anxiety only existed within the Premier League media.

Football media from the rest of Europe were already feeling miserable—just look at what the Premier League has done this year.

The Blue Army Chelsea further strengthened their squad, with basically no weaknesses left.

The Red Devils Manchester United not only beefed up their squad, they also had enough energy to lay some groundwork for succession between old and new; they’ll be strong Champions League contenders for the next five years.

The Red Army Liverpool went big to fill out their squad, upgraded their attack from rifle to cannon, and their lineup is even stronger than the year they won the Champions League!

If these three keep going like this, what the hell are the other leagues even playing for in next season’s Champions League!

By then, Premier League civil wars might even be more exciting than the Champions League itself.

Damn it!

The rich clubs in other leagues, provoked by the Premier League, also stopped holding back.

Paris Saint-Germain spent 29 million euros to bring Kaint back to Ligue 1.

In just a year and a half, Kaint’s value had gone from Four million euros to nearly 30 million euros; that’s a textbook example of a frog turning into a prince!

Pretty inspirational.

Ness are probably regretting this so much their guts are turning green.

Not only that, Paris Saint-Germain also addressed their only weakness, the goalkeeper position, with a new signing.

They splurged 25 million euros to bring Red Wolf Gate God, Italy’s second-choice national goalkeeper, Ameluci, from Rome.

As mentioned before, Ameluci is pretty much the only top-class goalkeeper in the world who almost never gets to play for his national team.

Because standing in front of him is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Gianluigi Audi!

You could say Ameluci has the ability to be first-choice at any big club.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Barça, Bayern...

But the reason it’s called a splurge is because Ameluci really is too old.
