Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

SWISH!

In an instant, the Furious Sand Blade arrived.

This was one of Yu Bao’s original Skills. Hai Ri had never seen it before, but his innate Exotic Beast instincts for battle screamed danger.

This was the ocean; most Skills here were related to the Water Element. If a non-Water Element Skill appeared that projected such a palpable threat, it meant the Skill was truly powerful!

”AWOO!”

Amid the chaos, Hai Ri quickly steadied himself and used the Sea Stabilization Array to defend.

A Light Array, inscribed with the patterns of mighty ocean waves, materialized in front of the Furious Sand Blade, intercepting the unstoppable Battle Saber in mid-air.

However, just as Hai Ri thought he could breathe a sigh of relief, visible spiderweb-like cracks spread across the Sea Stabilization Array!

”AWOO!?” Hai Ri cried out in shock, hastily pouring in more Energy.

”Woof!” Yu Bao was also clearly pouring on the power. The Golden Light of the Thick Earth Blessing on the Furious Sand Blade grew ever more brilliant, as if the attack’s momentum was building, becoming utterly unstoppable.

After its evolution and the creation of the Burning Sand Blade, Yu Bao had actually started using the ”classic” Furious Sand Blade less and less, as it lacked the power of the newer Skill.

Underwater, however, the Burning Sand Blade was weakened by its Fire Attribute, while the pure Furious Sand Blade, enhanced by the Thick Earth Blessing, was not significantly affected.

At this moment, this was Yu Bao’s ultimate killing move on this underwater battlefield!

WHOOSH—

The golden and blue lights intertwined and shattered.

Under the continuous pressure of the Furious Sand Blade, the Sea Stabilization Array collapsed into countless fragments of light, which in turn dissolved into bubbles, vanishing into the endless sea.

Still shaken, Hai Ri retreated a few steps.

’It actually broke through my Sea Stabilization Array... That’s the strongest defense my father, the King, taught me... This kid is terrifying!’

But at the moment the Sea Stabilization Array shattered, the Furious Sand Blade’s momentum had been completely nullified by the overbearing defense. Now powerless, it drifted forward as nothing more than loose sand, no longer a viable attack.

”Woof...” Yu Bao watched Hai Ri, its brow furrowing slightly.

’His Real-time Energy Value is about the same as mine, yet he managed to block my strongest killing move head-on... This kid must be eliminated!’

”Ooh!” The spectating Fish Dragons and Sea Race members let out a collective gasp of amazement and then cheers.

You see, the Sea Stabilization Array was the ancestral Defense Skill of the Storm Fish Dragons, hailed as the unbreakable bulwark of the sea.

Today, that bulwark of the sea had been shattered by furious sand from the land!

Chang Xi asked in wonder, ”What Skill is that? A blade made of sand, I’ve never seen anything like it... To think it could break through our Sea Stabilization Array.”

Han Lan closed his eyes in contemplation. ”I’ve never seen it either. However, my grandfather told me that in the Classical Era, there were no clearly defined Skills. All Exotic Beasts fought simply by instinctively channeling their Energy. Later, as most Exotic Beasts assimilated, their Skills gradually became fixed and formed a system. But some individuals with distinct traits or racial differences couldn’t adapt, so cases of them creating their own Skills would occasionally appear.”

Chang Xi was somewhat surprised. ”But even back in that era, an Exotic Beast that could create its own Skills or style would be considered a Grandmaster, wouldn’t it?”

Han Lan looked toward Su Zhi and Yu Bao, a look of deep feeling on his face this time.

”Who knows?”

”Yu Bao, press the attack and keep the initiative! Don’t give him a chance to organize another approach!” Su Zhi commanded decisively, having noted the positioning of both combatants.

Yu Bao nodded, its body dissolving into a cloud of sand as it charged forward. At the same time, it formed and launched one Furious Sand Blade after another, sending them flying toward Hai Ri.

This time, Hai Ri didn’t use the Sea Stabilization Array to block. Instead, he relied on his agility to dodge left and right.

”Ooh!” ”Ahh!” ”ROAR ROAR ROAR!”

The spectating Fish Dragons cheered wildly.

’I can’t believe the Idiot Prince, who looks so much bigger, is just as agile as Yu Bao! He really is the future hope of our Fish Dragon Race!’

In reality, Hai Ri was currently screaming ’What the fuck?!’ on the inside.

The Sea Stabilization Array was his trump-card Defense Skill. He figured that the Furious Sand Blade, which had matched it in power, should be a similar kind of ultimate move, right?

But it turned out to be spammable! How the hell was he supposed to defend against that?

A few more blocks and he’d be completely drained.

Since he couldn’t block it, his only option was to use his agility to dodge. He looked graceful, but inside, he was crying a river of tears...

Yu Bao’s form was already closing in, using Desert Concealment for the final approach.

Hai Ri, who had seemed passive just a moment before, suddenly shot forward, charging head-on against Yu Bao’s advance.

It looked like a suicide move, but it instantly changed the situation: The Furious Sand Blades that had already been launched all missed Hai Ri.

And with that, Hai Ri had successfully closed the distance for a melee engagement with Yu Bao!

”AWOOAWOOAWOOAWOO!”

Hai Ri unleashed a wild flurry of fin strikes at Yu Bao. Besides their powerful tails, the strong forelimbs of a Storm Fish Dragon were also fearsome weapons.

Under the chaotic barrage, Yu Bao had no power to resist. It was instantly beaten into a pulp and shattered on the spot.

”...???”

Staring at the pile of sand that was once Yu Bao, Hai Ri was stunned for a moment. He then immediately realized something was wrong and hurriedly cast the Sea Stabilization Array behind him.

CRACK!

A Furious Sand Blade arrived right on cue, slamming viciously into the Sea Stabilization Array. This strike was even more ferocious than the last, punching a hole straight through the array and stabbing inward.

Hai Ri broke out in a cold sweat... though, uh, you couldn’t really see it underwater.

He had cast the Sea Stabilization Array purely on instinct, not expecting to perfectly match Yu Bao’s timing. If he had hesitated for even a second, it would have been game over for him.

What terrified him even more was that this Furious Sand Blade was almost identical to the last one, yet its devastating effect was completely different.
