Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

The stationed Beast Tamer’s expression turned grim.

The Thunderbolt War Falcon wasn’t a race that excelled in all-around combat. Its Skills were primarily focused on swift strikes, so broad offensive and defensive maneuvers only exposed its weaknesses.

In reality, just maintaining the current stalemate was a considerable struggle. The Storm Fish Dragon was a Pet Beast of a Low Level Commander Race, and this one, in particular, had a Real-time Energy Value approaching Three-star.

In terms of geography, Storm Strait wasn’t a strategic chokepoint, so no powerful combat forces were stationed there.

She was just an ordinary Alliance Member with a Tier Five Beast Taming Space, and her Main Pet, the Thunderbolt War Falcon, only had the fighting power of a regular Two-star. She could handle some Low Level Exotic Beasts, but it was nearly impossible to deal with an Upper Rank Predator like the Storm Fish Dragon.

’But why would a Storm Fish Dragon come here?’

’Storm Strait and the Storm Fish Dragon. Other than sharing the word ”Storm” in their names, the two were completely unrelated... There had been recent reports of abnormal Ocean Exotic Beast activity, but those locations were far from here. Even the Purity Abyss Alliance’s patrol routes didn’t cross Storm Strait.’

’Yet this Storm Fish Dragon shows up here and immediately launches a furious assault, as if it holds some deep-seated grudge!’

The stationed Beast Tamer shouted from a distance, ”Your Excellency! Humans and the Fish Dragon Race have no grievances between us. Why are you attacking us?”

”GRAAAWR!”

Her reply was the Storm Fish Dragon’s furious roar.

The Thunderbolt War Falcon sent back a telepathic message: The opponent believes humans have taken its kin hostage. This is a blatant provocation to the Fish Dragon Race!

The stationed Beast Tamer was momentarily stunned.

’The Storm Fish Dragon is a specially protected Exotic Beast, and the Common Defense Alliance’s laws are extremely strict on this matter. What kind of poacher would have the guts and the skill to mess with the Fish Dragon Race?’

”Your Excellency! There must be a misunderstanding! Fighting won’t solve anything. Let us help you investigate!” the stationed Beast Tamer tried to negotiate.

”GRAAAWR!”

The Storm Fish Dragon ignored her words completely. Its attacks grew even more furious, and her three Pet Beasts were showing faint signs of being unable to hold on.

”WHOOSH—”

A curtain of water shot into the sky, and another, slightly smaller Storm Fish Dragon emerged from the sea, using its sturdy limbs to pull itself ashore.

’Crap!’

The stationed Beast Tamer was unable to split her attention, and could only watch helplessly as that Fish Dragon lunged towards the children on the beach.

”Bilang! Flowing Shield!”

Katie quickly issued the command.

’She also had an Iron Birch Mantis with a higher Energy Value... but it was completely unsuited for this kind of fight. Summoning it would be a death sentence, totally pointless.’

Bilang released its Flowing Shield, but in its panic, the effect was less than ideal.

The Storm Fish Dragon is a powerful Ocean Exotic Beast, an Upper Rank Predator at the top of the food chain. Fear of it is practically branded into the genes of all Water Element Pet Beasts.

Intimidated before the fight even began, how could it possibly hold the line during battle?

What’s more, there was a fundamental difference in their power levels!

”POP!”

The Storm Fish Dragon arched its long neck, then suddenly lunged forward, like a cobra striking its prey.

The Flowing Shield only managed to slow it down for a moment before completely disintegrating, shattering into a splash of water.

”QUAAA!” Bilang couldn’t dodge at all and only managed to escape by being recalled to its Beast Taming Space at the last second.

”Danger!”

”OOF—”

Liu Yuhang shot forward and tackled Katie out of the way. The two of them barely missed the Storm Fish Dragon’s sharp teeth.

A flicker of surprise crossed the Storm Fish Dragon’s eyes. ’A mere human, dodging my sneak attack on pure reflex?’

”BOOM!”

The next moment, a heavy wall of water slammed it square in the face, knocking the Storm Fish Dragon backward.

This time it was a Hao Waterfowl. Yet the Storm Fish Dragon clearly felt that this Hao Waterfowl’s Flowing Shield was somehow stronger than the Turbulent Duck’s.

Xue Li stood beside Liu Yuhang, its small, button-like black eyes staring at the Storm Fish Dragon. Not only did it show not a hint of fear, it actually looked rather fierce.

”AWOOO!”

As an Upper Rank Predator, the Fish Dragon was instantly filled with shame and rage. A ferocious wave suddenly erupted, infused with a terrifying pressure of Energy that forced the water into an unnaturally rapid flow.

Storm Fish Dragon Racial Skill, a Water and Wind High Level Elite Skill, Wave-Cutting Assault!

This was one of the Storm Fish Dragon’s most powerful attack Skills. With this move, the Fish Dragon could hunt many large Sea Beasts with high Defense Power!

”CRACK”

However, the Storm Fish Dragon did not see the river of blood it expected.

Then, something happened that stunned it even more:

Beneath the wave, Yu Bao’s Yellow Earth Wall glowed with the Golden Light of a Thick Earth Blessing, its surface scored with three deep, terrifying claw marks. But despite being covered in cracks, it hadn’t broken. It still held firm.

This completely defied the Storm Fish Dragon’s understanding of the Yellow Earth Wall Skill. ’Is this really that pathetic Earth Low Level Defense Skill?’

’Have I misunderstood what Yellow Earth Wall is?’

”Woof!”

[Pet Beast: Yu Bao (Yu Dian Farm Dog)

Power: 1.30

Agility: 2.26

Intelligence: 2.60 -> 3.00

Constitution: 1.42

Perception: 2.85 -> 3.49]

[Real-time Energy Value: 5001]

Yu Bao then leaped onto the Yellow Earth Wall, pushed the sunglasses up on its nose, its expression indifferent.

’Allocate points.’

The instant the Points finished accumulating, Yu Bao’s Real-time Energy Value skyrocketed, breaking through from Quasi-Two-star to Two-star on the spot.

Such a drastic increase even startled the other Storm Fish Dragon that was in the middle of its fight.

’For an Exotic Beast, increasing one’s Real-time Energy Value is a gradual process. What kind of Pet Beast can have its power spike so much in an instant?’

Xiaoyue’s jaw dropped, too.

Under the buff from Shao Ya’s Beast Taming Talent, he could indeed make his Real-time Energy Value surge temporarily, even achieving a greater increase than Yu Bao’s. But that was in the Ancient Jing Forest, and there was a time limit.

But Yu Bao’s increase wasn’t like that.

A Pet Beast’s intuition told him that this was a genuine increase in power. In fact, Yu Bao had probably reached this level long ago... it had just been hiding its true strength until now.

’This dog... is a monster!’

”SWOOSH—”

The sand on the beach flew into the air, forming into a Furious Sand Blade much faster than ever before, and instantly pierced the Storm Fish Dragon.

In the past, Yu Bao’s Furious Sand Blade would have had a hard time dealing effective damage to this type of large Exotic Beast. The battle with the Earth-necked Dragon was a prime example.

But the Yu Bao of today was on a completely different level.

The massive leap in Perception allowed Yu Bao’s control and understanding of the Elements to jump to a new level, while the increase in Intelligence made its mind sharper than ever before.

Almost instantaneously, Yu Bao made a micro-adjustment to the Furious Sand Blade, changing the vibration of the sand particles to more effectively widen the wound and increase bleeding.

At the same time, by observing the Storm Fish Dragon’s movements, Yu Bao locked onto the end of its joint—the very spot where the Storm Fish Dragon’s left artery passed through!

”RRRIP!”

”AWOOO!!!”

The sound of tearing flesh and a pained howl echoed together. The skin on one of the Storm Fish Dragon’s forelimbs was ripped open, and blood gushed out like a fountain.

”CHIRP!” The next moment, a Golden Light flashed. A golden feather streaked through the dark night as Shan Bao shot towards the Storm Fish Dragon, shining as brightly as a meteor!

”ROAR!” The Storm Fish Dragon’s heart seethed with rage. ’First the Yu Dian Dog, now this Flash Gold Sparrow... these low-level pets aren’t even scared of me. What do they take me for, an apex predator at the top of the food chain?!’

”CHOMP—” As Shan Bao flew closer, the Storm Fish Dragon opened its massive, bloody maw and snapped down.

”CRUNCH!”

A crisp, tooth-jarring sound rang out, and the Storm Fish Dragon’s eyes watered from the pain.

The eight teeth in the front half of its mouth bit down on Shan Bao, and seven of them broke off on the spot. Meanwhile, Shan Bao didn’t even have a scratch on its skin and was still glowing with Golden Light.

”CHIRP!”

Shan Bao did an iron headbutt, knocking out the last tooth that was barely hanging on, then leisurely flew away, completely unconcerned about the Storm Fish Dragon giving chase.

And the Storm Fish Dragon really didn’t give chase. It just stood there, questioning its fishy existence.

It was starting to lose the will to fight.

’The elders of my clan told me that the Flash Gold Sparrow is a Space Element Pet Beast. They said its strength is mobility, and its weakness is... a frail body that can’t withstand powerful attacks?’

’So *this* is what they call a frail body?!’
