Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”Oh, so its name is Fire Fist... My bad, at first I thought it said Flame Fist.”

”Holy crap! That’s a huge crab! Is that thing really the same species as the ones I usually eat??”

”Uhh, well, I’m pretty sure they’re not the same species...”

”You’d dare eat a Flame King Crab? My dude’s really tempting fate, huh?”

One of the spectating students cracked a joke, and the others started laughing along, slightly diluting the tense atmosphere that had built up over the previous few matches.

At the same time, the appearance of the Flame King Crab made everyone even more eager to discuss who would ultimately come out on top.

”Before, I felt like Huai City First Middle School had a better chance of winning, but now that the Flame King Crab is out, it’s hard to say.”

”No way, right? Didn’t you see Wang Haokun’s Iron-eating Owl get demolished by Shan Bao last match? Its morale must be at rock bottom now that it’s back on the field, so its condition can’t be good.”

”That’s true, but a Pet Beast from the Shanda University Affiliated School won’t lose morale that easily. They’re top-tier, after all.”

”It’s a perfect counter. Huai City First Middle School’s two Pet Beasts are Wood and Gold Element, and they’re both weak to the Flame King Crab’s Fire Attribute...”

Some of these discussions reached Su Zhi’s ears.

However, Attribute Suppression was only one aspect—a very superficial one at that. The real headache for him was on a tactical level.

The Flame King Crab excelled at both offense and defense, as well as explosive Strong Attacks, and its Skill System was built around this style.

Xiaoyue’s preferred style was the Royal Dao’s Controlled Attack Flow, which was, to a certain extent, countered by this Overbearing Dao’s Strong Attack Flow. In reality, the Royal Dao and Overbearing Dao countered each other. It all depended on who could execute their own tactics more decisively.

However, this brought them back to the issue of Attributes. A Flame King Crab with a Fire Attribute would naturally have an easier time executing its tactics against the Wood Attribute Xiaoyue.

At the same time, the Flame King Crab was a ferocious beast with the Fighting Attribute, and it would undoubtedly disrupt Xiaoyue and Shan Bao’s formation.

Not every Pet Beast was as timid and cautious as Wu Bao. Most Fighting Pet Beasts were genuinely Fierce and Warlike!

Furthermore, thanks to its thick shell, the Flame King Crab wasn’t afraid of the offensive methods Shan Bao had displayed in the previous round.

’No... This is the final preparation stage right before the match. I shouldn’t be able to hear the audience’s chatter. I’m getting distracted...’

Su Zhi shook his head, refocusing his thoughts on the arena.

In his peripheral vision, the white-haired girl gave a slight smile and a thumbs-up.

”It’s okay, Su Baby, you can do it!”

”Yeah!”

DING.

The Race Bell rang. The fourth round of the team competition, a doubles battle, had officially begun!

”Fire Fist! Use Blazing Flame War Chariot and charge their formation!”

”SKREEE!”

The Flame King Crab let out a roar, brandishing its two giant pincers as it charged toward its opponents.

It was less of a charge and more of a scuttle... Since Flame King Crabs were accustomed to walking sideways, its charge was a zigzagging motion, first to the left and then to the right. It actually looked a bit comical.

However, both Xiaoyue and Shan Bao could feel the oppressive pressure hidden beneath its comical appearance.

In the middle of its charge, the flame-patterned shell on Fire Fist’s body rapidly brightened before bursting into a roaring blaze that grew more dazzling and intense.

In the end, Fire Fist’s body became almost invisible, completely enveloped by the intense flames, resembling a giant fireball!

SWOOSH—

A pale green Light Array lit up as Xiaoyue activated Deep Forest Grip.

Countless gigantic vines, like the tentacles of a Sea Beast, instantly shot out from the Light Array, blotting out the sky as they lunged for Fire Fist.

To counter the Flame King Crab’s flames, Xiaoyue had specifically chosen vines with a higher water content, making them difficult to ignite even when exposed to fire.

After evolving, Xiaoyue had trained extensively with this Skill and could now control the specific details of its release with considerable stability!

In the blink of an eye, Fire Fist was heavily wrapped in countless vines, and the flames on its body were snuffed out by their sheer mass.

”Whoa, is that Deep Forest Grip?”

”Yeah, that’s right. Haven’t you seen the documentaries? The Deep Forest Grip used by the Shadows of Ancient Jing in them looks just the same.”

”No, the vines in the documentaries didn’t look this thick! Holy shit, these are almost thicker than the locust tree downstairs from my house!”

”Everyone knows that Skills in videos and Skills in person are two completely different experiences. Otherwise, why would so many Beast Tamers think, ’I could do that too’...”

”That’s so intimidating. If I were facing an opponent like that, I wouldn’t be able to muster any will to fight...”

”Wait, look! The vines are starting to loosen!”

”What the hell? They can break free from that??”

BOOM—

The next moment, the explosive flash of fire filled Xiaoyue’s eyes.

The countless thick vines summoned by Deep Forest Grip were torn to shreds by the erupting flames and sent flying in all directions. The air filled with a scorched smell as Fire Fist spread its pincers. The flames on its body burned even more intensely than before, like a Fierce Sun.

Xiaoyue had trained its Skills tirelessly, but had its opponent not done the same?

For the past three months, Fire Fist had held the highest training attendance rate among all Fire Fighting Element Pet Beasts on the Shanda University Affiliated School’s Pet Beast Ranking, without exception.

Thanks to its meticulous training style and strict adherence to its training regimen, Fire Fist had also managed to master Blazing Flame War Chariot to the Tier Two level just a few days after evolving.

”SKREEE!” Fire Fist brandished its pincers and continued its charge, moving even faster than before.

This was the special characteristic of the Blazing Flame War Chariot Skill: as its fighting spirit rose, the flames on its body would grow stronger, and its movement speed would increase significantly.

”CHIRP!”

Seeing this, Shan Bao immediately used Golden Feather Flying Blade, shooting it toward Fire Fist.
