Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

The Envoy’s Pets sensed each other’s thoughts and fell silent.

Han Lan retreated dozens of meters. Xue Li closed her eyes, her body immediately enveloped in a faint blue glow.

No teaching or guidance was needed, for evolving into a Wave-Riding Duck was a Hao Waterfowl’s purest instinct.

Bound in freshwater for nearly a century, the moment it returned to the ocean, the vast energy lying dormant deep within its body began to reawaken!

”Such a powerful current!” Hundreds of meters away, Su Zhi could feel the immense water pressure rushing toward him and drew in a sharp breath.

Yu Bao instinctively tried to summon a Yellow Earth Wall to resist, only to find it completely useless. The sturdiness of the earth did not belong here; storm and water were the masters of this domain.

Han Lan was prepared, conjuring a massive, light blue Light Array to shield Su Zhi and his companions.

A Storm Fish Dragon Racial Skill, a Water and Wind Element Middle Commander Skill: Sea Stabilization Array!

At first glance, it looked somewhat similar to Broken Waterfall Judgment, but closer inspection revealed their differences. The markings on Broken Waterfall Judgment’s Light Array were dominated by short, flowing lines, giving it an intensely aggressive appearance. The markings on the Sea Stabilization Array, in contrast, were broad and smooth, subconsciously conveying a sense of stability and invincibility.

The moment the Light Array appeared, the surging undercurrents were immediately forced back, scattering wildly in all directions.

The other Fish Dragons spectating at the cave entrance hastily backed away. A few of the slower ones were flipped over on the spot, tumbling head over heels several times before being unceremoniously plastered against the cave wall.

And that wasn’t all... The undercurrent was far stronger than it appeared.

This was a deep-water region, so the true scale of the event wasn’t yet apparent. But the moment its effects reached the surface, the entire ocean seemed to boil!

BOOM!

Waterspouts nearly a thousand meters tall erupted from the sea, instantly blanketing the region. The dark clouds overhead were punched through, leaving gaping holes that looked starkly out of place against the endless night sky.

A passing Purity Abyss Alliance ship didn’t have time to change course and was nearly capsized, only managing to stabilize with the help of the Beast Tamers on board.

Far away in the Storm Strait, a resident Beast Tamer stationed on the shore watched the scene in utter shock. This was far more magnificent than any tsunami the Storm Strait had ever witnessed.

At that moment, she suddenly understood why the Storm Strait was called the Storm Strait.

So this was never the true place for a Hao Waterfowl to evolve...

...but rather, a grandstand from which to witness them summon storms and transform into Wave-Riding Ducks.

「Divine Strategy Alliance, Sky Eye Monitoring Center.」

”Celestial Eye 1131 has detected abnormal Water Element Energy fluctuations!”

”Celestial Eye 1131 confirms: a level 13 typhoon has formed in the waters near the Storm Strait. Cause of formation unknown. A yellow typhoon warning has been issued to Pearl Harbor!”

”Celestial Eye 1131 confirms... The source of the typhoon is an abnormal energy fluctuation beneath the sea’s surface. Based on frequency matching... the preliminary identification is... a Hao Waterfowl!”

”Huh? Isn’t that a freshwater Pet Beast?”

”A tiny Pet Beast like a Hao Waterfowl caused a typhoon of this magnitude? Are you kidding me? Even a Storm Fish Dragon would struggle to do that...”

Watching the data constantly refreshing on the screen, a few technicians couldn’t help but whisper among themselves.

Luo Sen stood beneath the screen, his mouth splitting into a grin that revealed a set of crimson teeth, his expression one of extreme excitement.

”There’s no mistake... This is the Hao Waterfowl’s evolution ritual. The ritual for evolving into a Wave-Riding Duck!”

A technician’s eyes widened in astonishment. ”But, Alliance Leader, wasn’t the Wave-Riding Duck declared extinct long ago?”

”Nature never declared the Wave-Riding Duck extinct. The ones who made that judgment were always you arrogant humans.”

Luo Sen shot the technician a meaningful glance. ”Just like how you humans arrogantly classified the Hao Waterfowl as a freshwater Pet Beast.”

”But experiments to bring back the Wave-Riding Duck have never stopped over the years, yet no one has ever succeeded, have they?”

Luo Sen glanced at him. ”Well, have those other Hao Waterfowl ever seen Huai City at 4 AM?”

The technician: ”?”

’What’s this about Huai City at 4 AM? Is it some new academic slang?’

Seeing the technician’s utterly baffled expression, Luo Sen couldn’t be bothered to explain. He simply rested his chin on his hand and stared at the screen, his smile growing wider.

’Is it Su Zhi’s classmate this time...? It seems like all the major events recently have been connected to him!’

’I’d love to slice him into thin pieces and observe what he’s made of. Maybe I’ll ask him about it next time we meet?’

’It really doesn’t hurt, after all~’

「Storm Dragon Palace.」

All the Fish Dragons, except for Han Lan, had withdrawn from the Dragon Palace. They watched the faintly visible undercurrents from afar, their faces filled with fear.

The undercurrents didn’t follow straight lines or predictable curves, but instead traced completely random paths. To be swept up in one meant instant, world-flipping chaos.

The typhoon on the surface was terrifying in its sheer scale, but the undercurrents below were what genuinely struck fear into the hearts of even the Storm Fish Dragons.

”Such immense Power!” Han Lan thought, startled to see his Sea Stabilization Array cracking. He immediately poured more Power into it, which was the only thing stopping it from being shattered by the Broken Waterfall Judgment.

When it came to absolute control over Water, Xue Li was, of course, no match for Han Lan.

At this moment, however, Xue Li had entered a wondrous state of fusion with the ocean. The release of her Skills was completely integrated with the sea itself, allowing her to generate maximum output with minimal energy consumption.

Storm Fish Dragons were adept at using their own immense Power to shatter the ocean’s tranquility and trigger storms. Xue Li, however, was adept at commanding the great power of the ocean itself—communicating with the sea, perceiving its rhythm, and awakening the storms that lay dormant within.

Han Lan knew this was the most powerful ability of the Wave-Riding Duck, one that was far beyond the reach of even a Storm Fish Dragon.

At this moment, Xue Li *was* the entire ocean!

BOOM!!

While unleashing Broken Waterfall Judgment, Xue Li became completely enveloped in a blinding azure light, her original silhouette entirely obscured.

The Light Array grew more volatile, the undercurrents more violent!

”I’m actually struggling to withstand this? How is that possible...”

Han Lan immediately thought of something. He turned to Liu Yuhang and demanded telepathically, ”Human! What is your Beast Taming Talent?”

Liu Yuhang froze for a second. ”Ocean Affinity!”

”I knew it...”

Han Lan turned his gaze back to Xue Li, a look of profound understanding in his eyes.

Her own long-term accumulation of power, her unity with the sea, the synergy with her Beast Tamer’s talent... multiple factors had so coincidentally aligned, allowing this tiny Hao Waterfowl to erupt with the terrifying power of a nuclear explosion.

Could this be called their luck?

That didn’t seem quite right, though. He had heard the story of this tamer and Envoy’s Pet from Su Zhi; they had actually suffered countless setbacks.

If, on any given day, Liu Yuhang had been unable to endure the hardship, or had switched to a Pet Beast that seemed stronger at the time... this moment would likely never have come to pass.

But they were just that stubborn, just that bull-headed.

So, they deserved every bit of this luck.

Seeing cracks reappear on the Sea Stabilization Array, Yu Bao frantically wagged its tail. ”Woof woof!”

”Han Lan Clan Leader! Yu Bao... wants to help you!”

”Are you kidding me? This is hardly a situation where an Earth Element Pet Beast can be of any use!”

Han Lan glanced at the simple-minded little dirt dog, shook his head with a laugh, and turned his gaze back to Xue Li.

”I can still handle this. You all just be careful of the smaller undercurrents.”

The moment he finished, dozens of large and small Light Arrays, interwoven with blue and white light, lit up and surrounded Xue Li from above and below.

A Water and Wind Element Low Level Monarch Skill: Harmonious Wind and Wave Throne.

Effect: Temporarily alters the Energy Laws of Water and Wind within a designated area to conform to the user’s will!

The situation changed instantly. The moment the Light Arrays lit up, the once-random torrents became orderly, converging into a single, focused beam that shot toward Han Lan.

’The main headache before was that there were too many currents to defend against. Now that they’re concentrated, this is much easier to handle!’

Watching the approaching beam of undercurrent, Han Lan’s eyes glinted as he activated the Sea Stabilization Array once more.

In truth, this was also a matter of a Clan Leader’s pride. Han Lan wanted to see for himself if he had the ability to neutralize what was, in theory, Xue Li’s single strongest attack.

The Water Spear and Shield collided at that very moment!

”AWOOO!” Feeling the impact on his internal Energy Veins, Han Lan let out a furious roar but forcibly steadied himself.

This was the terrifying aspect of Broken Waterfall Judgment: it wasn’t a simple attack of water currents, but also contained a powerful flow of energy that caused tremors within the enemy’s own Energy Veins. This was precisely why Lilith’s Nether Flame Body had been damaged in the past.

Cracks appeared on the Sea Stabilization Array. Han Lan’s eyes flashed with ferocity as he poured in more Energy, and the cracks mended once more.

HUUUU—

At the climax of the collision, an ear-splitting sound suddenly rang through the water. Both the powerful current and the Light Array vanished, kicking up a shockwave that radiated outward.

The blue light covering Xue Li slowly faded away...
