Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”AWOOOO!”

The Fish Dragons who had previously retreated outside the Dragon Palace noticed the silence within and began to tentatively poke their heads in to watch.

”My husband! Are you alright?” Chang Xi swam anxiously into the Dragon Palace, her body impatiently twining around Han Lan as she looked him over and over.

”It’s nothing. An attack of this level is not enough to overwhelm me,” Han Lan replied reassuringly, though he was also curiously recalling the scene from a moment ago.

Although he had indeed relied mainly on his own power to neutralize Xue Li’s assault, he had also felt a subtle sense of borrowed strength.

At the final moment, as he unleashed the Sea Stabilization Array, it seemed an unfamiliar energy had secretly assisted him, making the effort less strenuous.

’Could it have been another clan member?’

’No, they all know my temperament. They would have been more likely to stay out of it.’

Besides, the way that energy was wielded didn’t resemble the Fish Dragon Race, or even a Deep Sea Exotic Beast. Instead, it felt like a non-Water Element Exotic Beast using Water Element power for the very first time.

It was like someone who had never swum before trying to copy others—the movements were bizarre, but by some fluke, they actually managed to stay afloat...

Several hundred meters away, Su Zhi stood with his hands clasped, watching Han Lan and Chang Xi intertwined with a peculiar expression.

’Speaking of which, if you were to translate this to human terms, wouldn’t this be considered... ahem, a public display?’

”Woof-whimper-whimper...”

”...” Su Zhi turned his deadpan gaze back to Yu Bao, who was straining so hard he looked like he was trying to hold in a fart.

”Don’t tell me you’re trying to imitate their Water Element Skills.”

”Woof,” Yu Bao whined, scratching his head in embarrassment.

’What are you embarrassed about? I wasn’t praising you...’ Su Zhi sighed, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

”Bao, just give it up. You’re an Earth and Fire Dual Element Pet Beast. You have absolutely nothing to do with the Water Element.”

”Woof!” Yu Bao wagged his tail defiantly.

’He clearly had the ability to control the Gold Element, too! Even if he hadn’t fully mastered it yet. If Gold Element is possible, why not Water Element...?’

’Aren’t the legendary Yu Dian Emperor Dogs supposed to have mastered all five Attributes to their peak?!’

Su Zhi clasped his hands. ”You’re right. But you’re not one of them.”

”Wooof...” Yu Bao choked back a sob for a moment, then lowered his proud canine head.

Shan Bao ran over to comfort him. ’It’s okay! Having two Attributes is great, too...’

Although Han Lan had invited the group to thank Su Zhi, everyone’s attention was now fixed on Xue Li, who was in the very center of the Divine Hall.

The azure light gradually faded, and Xue Li’s previously indistinct silhouette became clear.

The black Crystal Stones embedded in the center of the Divine Hall’s six domes had now turned a translucent light blue—they were gifts from the Wave-Riding Duck Clan Leader and would light up upon sensing the energy fluctuations of a Wave-Riding Duck.

”Xue Li!”

The instant Han Lan deactivated the Sea Stabilization Array, Liu Yuhang swam impatiently toward Xue Li, forgetting that they were separated by several hundred meters and that it would likely take him several minutes to cross the distance.

But the floating ball of azure light in the distance swam toward him instead, reaching Liu Yuhang’s side in an instant.

”Quack!” Xue Li cried joyfully, rubbing her forehead against Liu Yuhang’s chest.

Liu Yuhang, meanwhile, looked at his Pet Beast in flattered surprise:

The once small Xue Li, who had resembled a chubby penguin meme, had now become slender. Her feathers were even whiter than before, her neck was long, and she had glowing azure eyeliner-like markings at the corners of her eyes, making her look exceptionally elegant.

The once adorable little duckling had suddenly become as beautiful and powerful as a swan, and Liu Yuhang had a hard time adjusting.

She was truly more beautiful and more imposing than an ordinary Turbulent Duck.

This was the long-lost Wave-Riding Duck, now reborn through his own Pet Beast—one of a kind.

’We’re not just ordinary people with no talent, forced to chase the shadows of the strong through sheer effort...’

After a moment of stunned silence, he smiled and hugged Xue Li.

’Good thing we’re in the sea. No one will notice the tears streaming down my face.’

In reality, as a Wave-Riding Duck who was extremely sensitive to the surrounding waters, how could Xue Li not have felt it?

She didn’t expose him, simply nestling in her Beast Tamer’s arms just as she had before her evolution, a look of pure bliss on her face.

’Getting to know you all over again makes me happy, too, quack~’

Ke Yan spoke up slowly. ”Iron Fist just told me that if Xue Li’s Real-time Energy Value were the same as his, he would be crushed and swept away without any chance to fight back.”

Su Zhi asked in surprise, ”She’s that strong?”

”Of course. In fact, I have a similar intuition myself.”

Ke Yan’s tone was full of emotion and relief. ”The long-lost Wave-Riding Duck is just that powerful. Now that she has reappeared in the Current World, there’s nothing that can defeat her, is there?”

”No.”

Su Zhi smiled faintly and let out a breath. ”Even before... they were never truly defeated.”

Ke Yan laughed heartily. ”You’re right!”

”Congratulations on completing your transformation, the hope of the Hao Waterfowl clan... or rather, I should call you a Wave-Riding Duck now.”

Watching the emotional embrace between the Envoy’s Pet and her tamer, Han Lan couldn’t help but smile before turning to the group waiting nearby.

”It is now late at night, and returning to the surface would be time-consuming and exhausting. You have all had a long journey. Why not stay in my clan’s territory for a couple of days, so that we may extend our hospitality as hosts?”

”Then we thank you, Clan Leader!”

Su Zhi did a quick mental calculation. They had a break tomorrow and the day after, and the selection tournament was the day after that. The timing was seamless.

Of course, the one who shouted the loudest was Ke Yan. You could tell he was truly excited.

After all, the opportunity to openly slack off in the name of work wasn’t something that came around every day...
