Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”Iron Fist! Charge!”

The faint light of the Farsighted Lighthouse flickered in the dark night, growing clearer by the second. Ke Yan immediately leaped from the assault boat and summoned his Copper Bone War Elephant.

The twenty-meter-plus-tall Copper Bone War Elephant skillfully submerged itself, leaving half its head and its trunk above the surface to breathe.

At Ke Yan’s command, Iron Fist immediately charged toward Storm Strait, its speed surprisingly on par with the assault boat.

—Though the Copper Bone War Elephant was a land-based Pet Beast, it often needed to traverse water. Charging through the water was one of its basic skills!

The roars and sounds of battle grew clearer. Towering waves crashed near the lighthouse, and flashes of electricity lit up the sky. Ke Yan knew this was the resident Beast Tamer of Storm Strait fighting the Fish Dragons.

”Faster! A little faster!” His already grim expression tightened, his brows furrowing even deeper.

He didn’t know this resident Beast Tamer personally, but he had read about her Pet Beasts in the files.

A Tier Five Beast Taming Space, with three contracted Two-star Pet Beasts. Among them, her main Pet, a Thunderbolt War Falcon, had a slightly higher Real-time Energy Value and wasn’t far from becoming a Quasi-Three-star.

This was about average among Alliance Members, enough for self-preservation or handling minor conflicts, but she was clearly struggling to deal with the Storm Fish Dragon assault.

This was due to both the gap in Real-time Energy Values and the roles of her Pet Beasts; her lineup wasn’t well-suited for fighting large Exotic Beasts.

Not to mention she also had to protect several other kids with little to no combat ability... One could only imagine the pressure she was under.

’I just hope I’m in time. Su Zhi and the others can’t get too badly hurt. It’d be a huge loss if this affects the upcoming selection tournament!’

As he arrived at the battle scene, Ke Yan roared a command, ”Iron Fist! Prepare to resc—huh?”

Ke Yan’s words caught in his throat.

Iron Fist: ”...”

The scene on the beach ahead was... lively:

Yu Bao stood front and center before a Storm Fish Dragon, activating its Earth Force Field. Huge torrents of sand swirled up, pinning more than half of the Storm Fish Dragon’s body in place.

The Storm Fish Dragon struggled with all its might, but its powerful body, strong enough to fight a tsunami, couldn’t break free from Yu Bao’s sand.

Xiaoyue stood nearby, using Deep Forest Grip in a Turtle Shell Binding style to truss up the Storm Fish Dragon, adding another layer of reinforcement for Yu Bao and completely eliminating any chance of escape.

”SWISH!” ”SWISH!”

”CRACK!” ”CRACK!”

”SCREECH!” ”SCREECH!”

Yu Bao slashed away with its Furious Sand Blade, occasionally adding a touch of Fire for a super-satisfying combo.

Xiaoyue used the tough vines summoned by Deep Forest Grip as a whip, lashing out with practiced skill.

Meanwhile, Shan Bao flew to its maximum altitude, then activated Hardening and Super Heavy Gold Fall, and went into a freefall...

The tragic screams of the Storm Fish Dragon echoed across the beach.

The other Storm Fish Dragon was busy fighting the resident Beast Tamer’s three Pet Beasts and could only watch helplessly as its companion was tortured.

Iron Fist blinked, looking at the scene on the beach and then back at Ke Yan, completely bewildered.

’So, who were you saying we needed to rescue? The Storm Fish Dragon...?’

”...” Ke Yan’s mouth twitched. A mix of exasperation and pleasant surprise washed over his face, finally breaking into a hearty laugh.

”That Su Zhi... No wonder so many Alliance Leaders are damn well drooling over him. Go! Assist our allies and crush that Fish Dragon!”

Iron Fist let out a cry in response and charged toward Storm Strait with Ke Yan on its back.

Ke Yan’s feelings were a bit complicated.

The exasperation, of course, came from having rushed all this way for a rescue, only to find they didn’t need him at all...

The joy was from witnessing Yu Bao’s performance.

Earth Force Field is a Skill that alters the terrain, but it can also be used to restrain enemies through Mimicry. However, this requires an incredibly high Skill Level; only a Tier Three Earth Force Field is capable of it.

And the target Yu Bao had restrained was a Storm Fish Dragon, no less.

—A hegemon of the seas that grew up battling storms, a being that even Towering Waves couldn’t budge!

Such a terrifying apex predator was now, led by Yu Bao, bound on the beach in an indescribable position. It was being mercilessly humiliated like a maiden chosen by a patron, unable to resist, only able to let out muffled whimpers and struggle in silence.

’They’re so creative... no, I mean, it’s just too strong.’

Ke Yan couldn’t imagine just how outstanding Yu Bao’s Elemental Perception and Elemental Control were. Even the best Earth Element Pet Beasts in terms of Elemental Control would likely pale in comparison to Yu Bao.

The words Su Zhi had spoken during his self-introduction on the first day of training camp resurfaced in his mind:

[”This is my Main Pet, Yu Bao. Its Race is the Yu Dian Dog, and it specializes in Control Field, ranged combat, and mobile warfare.”]

’If Yu Bao doesn’t specialize in it, then what Pet Beast does?’

While guiding his war elephant to cleave through the waves, Ke Yan gave a relaxed shrug and a smile.

’Nice one, kid. You win!’

Seeing the Copper Bone War Elephant charge onto the beach, Su Zhi’s eyes lit up. ”Reinforcements are here!”

The Pet Beasts were all reinvigorated. Their previous exhaustion vanished on the spot, as if their health bars had been completely refilled.

Only Yu Bao remained as calm and collected as ever.

In truth, he was about to reach his limit. The Storm Fish Dragon was massive, after all. Even with his explosive increase in strength, it was difficult to restrain it indefinitely with Earth Force Field. Yu Bao had to admit he’d been putting on a bit of a show...

Just when he could no longer keep up the act, the reinforcements showed up. Inwardly, Yu Bao was already doing joyful pirouettes...

But he couldn’t let it show on his face.

He had to maintain the disdain of a true powerhouse to see this bluff through to the end!

”THUD!” The Copper Bone War Elephant finally made it ashore, sending the long-suffering Fish Dragon flying with a single charge.

The Fish Dragon’s roar held not anger, but a sense of relieved exhilaration. It hit the water and fled, quickly disappearing beneath the waves.

Yu Bao didn’t turn to look at the Fish Dragon’s miserable state. With an indifferent expression, it pushed up its glasses.
